After nearly 16 years in the Kpop fandom, I am no longer a Kpop fan.

The fandom is toxic and a horrible thing to be a part of. It ruined me inside and out and I hope that you can all be saved like I, myself, was.

I am basically only keeping this account open at the prospects of maybe re-writing my stories to a better quality or perhaps re-writing them using different fandoms on my AO3 site.

 

Please understand, I have no ill-will towards the fans as people or the artists, it is mostly just the actions of the fans themselves, the horrible reproduction issues with their songs and lack of individualism, the horrible training and torture that these idols have to go through and the complete lack of privacy that they have had to endure.

Kpop fandom culture is extremely toxic with death threats being thrown around like cheap confetti at a kids birthday party, fat-shaming and racism is so normal in this genre that it is actually disgusting.
In no way should anyone see the behaviour that is exhibited in this fandom as normal. You all need to break free of this hell and I hope that you do in the future as you will feel much better for it.
