Ooh so much! Especially for the specific scene in the story. The perfect song can help pour out the intensity and emotion in that moment you want. When it's comes to writing fics it's a mix of kpop and American music. When I'm writing something sad it'll be a sad song of either genre and it's the same when it comes to any other mood :)

Hi, I tend to listen to chill-hop (specifically Nujabes' albums!) and Kinetik Groove's Only Time Can Tell album when I'm writing ^^. Other times I write in silence. But yeah, songs that can be chill yet upbeat and songs that are more instrumental help motivate/inspire me~

It depends a lot on the genre I'm writing. I have a few designated "crime" songs that get me in the mood for crimes. But I often find myself listening to the instrumentals or just classical music in general when writing. It's soothing and convey's emotion but I don't have to deal with the words being sung (usually it's a distraction).

I once wrote 2 fanfic just seconds after watching an mv of my fave group kekeke... lately i don't write anymore, but at work i enjoy listening to duet of Yoon Mirae's pure clean vocal and Shin Hyesung's slight husky deep lowtone in "In The Air"... it gives a bit of y vibe, but in a calmer notion, sort of soothing way, and somehow helps me focus, well it's just me idk... hope it'll help you to write, i'll read it forsure, goodluck!
