For me, kpop music sounds unique and kinda 'different'. I like the visually appealling mvs because kpop mvs have different concepts. The artists are so talented like they can sing and dance at the same time.

I'm a kpop fan since 2012, I think a lot has changed but I wouldn't say it ''.

There is such a wide range of Kpop music. From R&B to hiphop rap, you can pretty much find at least a piece of music you like, no matter who you are. Also, everyone is so fricking talented and the dancing, like damn!

What got me into it is that I love dance so much. So many non Kpop MVs for dance songs feature zero dancing and that always upset me. But then I was introduced to BoA and Super Junior and saw they danced in all their MV's, and from that moment, I was hooked XD

At first when I was first exposed to the Korean pop culture, a huuuge factor of what prompted me to dig deeper was just the music (unsurprisingly). I simply enjoyed the music for what it was because I found that it was a lot more complex and well produced than alot of the western artists (if you know what I mean). Then i found out that the members were ing adorable as well and another wow factor was just their stage presence, you know? The choreography, live singing, fanchants and just everything about their way of performing is just- *italian hand gesture meme*
Different concepts are always interesting, especially if one group can pull off many. In a way, maybe the fact that they can be so far and unapproachable plays a role in how much I cherish kpop bands and every interaction I get
I also feel like if it weren't for kpop and a common interest like this, one of my closes friends and I wouldn't be as close as we are now, having spent countless hours just fangirling and kinda losing our minds-
It's nice to know alot about korean pop culture since it actually gave me a chance to bond with alot of people from all over the world as well, (take this for example) and some of the people i've met online through music have made a HuGe impact in my life :")

so yea^^ kpop, gotta love it

@damnationSUruck You're a 'metalhead' AND you like kpop? Wow, I'm shook! LOL
;)

@sevencandlesticks True. I also think is more meaningful than regular pop music.
I know it's a bit out of context but are you familiar with 'bossa nova' music? If not, I recommend it. SNSD's ''day by day'' has a bossa nova feel to it I remeber when I first listened to it I loved it! ;)

Personally because it's so different from what I've grown up with and am used to. As a metalhead, I actually did enjoy seeing dance choreography, which for the longest time I found so hard to come across because I only saw them in films like Step Up and the like. Until being introduced to Exo in 2013 and the Growl era where I saw how huge dance is in the K-pop scene, I was really intrigued. Second are the concepts, which as an artist, I find so compelling. I'm always so taken by the ideas and views these people have and how well presented they always are, be it bright and bubbly themes or dark and gritty ones, whatever it is, it's never halfheartedly done.
Not to mention there's no denying how lovely these singers and dancers look and present themselves. Again, as an artist, I can't help but find them appealing.

@Fictriz There is something special about how it sounds, it feels different. And when they try familiar styles, they make it fresh. I also tend to like Kpop songs better lyrically. I feel like a lot of Kpop songs hold deeper meaning and emotion more often than regular pop music.

I think the concepts? Before I got into kpop, I never paid attention to the "concept" behind a singer's album/single (and tbh, concepts aren't really a thing in the Western music world, at least from what I've seen).
Fictriz 5 years ago
@sevencandlesticks Packaging is a visual/physical aspect of it. Won't you talk about how kpop 'feels' ? Like in an abstract way?
[deactivated] 5 years ago
One thing is the album packaging! I love how Kpop albums practically always come with a photobook, and it is so cool to get a randomised photocard in them.

@jojojoana Lol. I get it. 'Cause kpop is my destiny ooooohhh
