I wouldn't mind some donations lol but I agree with the suggestions, contest would be the best thing to do. I think advertising would be pointless since with that much karma points, her stories got to be popular xD

Perhaps donate to promising writing contests, there are always some looking for karma donations

I was right! XD I think it's the most immediate response... Doesn't she write stories? She can advertise her own story or some fic she thinks deserve more readers. I have the opposite problem, not enough Karma to advertise, so I know how that feels.

I still haven't read how other people answered but I'm pretty sure lots of them are going to say "well, since your friend doesn't use them, just give them to me!"

Donate or give it away, or use it for ads. I don't have much KP, so I can't relate (lol)

If she/he could donate some to me, that would be nice. Lol. I really want to help out an author who deserves to be advertised once because her stories are unique and great, plus I don't want her to lose motivation.

A contest with different sectors aka like a writing category, editing section, poster section etc. (or just give me some lmao... lowkey want to change my username)

Use them for advertisements. If not to advertise your own story than maybe an unknown story you like?
Or playing with readers. Such as hiding clues in chapters and gifting readers with the right answer a certain amount of kp to make them comment more?
Like you already said, holding a huge event. Graphic/edit contest maybe? One shot/story contest? Holding a giveaway where readers need to answer certain question about a story and what they liked and why? So the best answer gets points.
Or donate the karma points to people who are holding such events.
Those are the things I came up with. The most simple option would be to just give it away though~
