I glance at you from afar. Oh, how I wish I could hold you. ~ A monologue.
Shout out to all the Filipinos out there. I found this short film a few days back and I find it very funny. The title is JOWABLE from the root word JOWA (Filipino slang) meaning girlfriend/boyfriend. So the word JOWABLE is like girlfriend/boyfriend material. The video is spoken mostly in Tagalog (the Philippines' national language) and I really tried my best to give justice to this monologue. I hope you will like it. And I added a couple of tweaks here and there. And because
Because I'm Hwang Sooyeon.
On February the fourteenth, Kim Taeyeon realises that the roles have been switched so drastically that the one who pulled along the other is now getting towed along in a wagon. From leader to the led and from the learning to the learned, eight years have taken their toll on the relationship between Taeyeon and Hwang Miyoung. There is an indefinite schism between and Taeyeon finds out that she isn't budging.
Taeyeon's life was as such, a pretty piano piece with a quiet start, a beautifully bursting and and end that left much to be desired. Starting out as a young and pretty, wealthy and lonely child, Taeyeon couldn't be broken to bits with a hammer or put in a fire to melt. However, if she were a block of clay, Tiffany would be the hot sun on a warm day.
Under bright lights Taeyeon and Tiffany smile and wave. They sing and they dance. Their members laugh along. Really, though, they are puppets on a stage and their eyes shift in their black bead sockets that are sewn on just a little too well. The smiles never falter even though their insides shift enough to let them know they aren't holding the reins as fate plays its screeching composition on an eerie violin.
