chaewol is branded the mom of the group, so obviously she's very caring about her members. she fusses over them a lot, especially about their wellbeing and health and all that, and makes sure everyone gets to eat properly and drink enough water and all that. besides the superficial things, however, chaewol also looks after her members' mental health. are they feeling okay? were they happy that day? and if not, what was bothering them? she doesn't force anyone to talk if they didn't want to, but chaewol lets them know that she'll be there for them if they need her.

she's also gentle with people, and tends to be the one who can coax a shy and timid person out of their shell. she doesn't push people, nor does she get rough with anyone because there's just no point. don't mistake that gentleness and kindness for weakness, however; chaewol can easily kick your if she has to.

chaewol is also a very passionate person. whatever she puts her heart into, she'll see it through the end. she also tends to go on and on about whatever was her newest obsession (usually some new korean drama :3) and tends to not be able to stop. when she realises she had been talking the ear off whoever was stuck with her, she gets very flustered. but whenever she's talking about something she's passionate about, her eyes just...light up, and she would be subject to another bout of teasing.

chaewol is not just a mom in name, but also a mom in nature. she has very good obervation skills, and is often able to pick up on anything that doesn't seem right. for example, if one of her members were upset, she would sense that immediately and go to that particular girl, asking if she needs anything. often, her instinct and intuition is right.

she is also a very loyal individual. once chaewol decides that she wants to stick with you, she'll follow you to frankly the end of the line unless you turn on her first. oh yes, and chaewol doesn't take betrayal well. at all. nor does she have patience or room for it, frankly. once you betray her, she would struggle for a while coming to terms with it, but after that, you're pretty much dead to her. 

chaewol is also a sentimental little bub. on certain nights, you can find her sitting on a windowsill, looking outside and staring off the distance, or taking a late-night walk, just to gather her thoughts and rearrange her feelings. sometimes she feels a little wistful when she talks about the past, but she never regrets anything. chaewol is also the one who takes someone’s leaving the hardest, because she’s just that sentimental. so yes, don’t be surprised if she starts getting teary when she thinks about the good ol’ times.   

being the mom figure of the group, chaewol is a very responsible person. she always makes sure her ducklings are in a row, and makes sure to look after every single one of them. chaewol is also responsible for herself, as she takes good care of herself as well. so you won't get a completely exhausted chaewol because girl knows herself. and well.

however, chaewol is also a perfectionist. she is the kind of person who kills herself in the dance studio trying to get every beat and move right; there’s a reason she was lead dancer. chaewol, when she’s serious, also experiences a change of personality; when she was supervising dance practice, she gets kind of snappy and becomes really strict on her members, unlike her normal caring self. ultimately her hard work was what got her through to a trainee, however, so  she has got to put in her best, or otherwise. 

despite what she says though, chaewol is actually quite insecure about herself. on a bad morning you may catch herself spending hours in front of a mirror, frowning at herself and saying nothing; but it's likely that she's mentally chiding herself. sometimes, the long hours she spend in the dance studio or vocal studio are projections of her insecurity, with chaewol trying to achieve perfection in whatever she does.  because she is a perfectionist, chaewol is also always insecure in her abilities. in a way, this helps her achieve the perfection she looks for, but also hinders her confidence sometimes. 

this doesn't always happen, but chaewol, when she gets too excited, tends to become overbearing in a sense. her voice becomes louder, and her actions are kind of...aggressive. she can come off as overbearing as times when she does this, but right now she's trying to tone it down after people started berating her for it. it's hard, but she's learning. 

despite how responsible and motherly chaewol is, she's still a very clumsy girl. it's more of her being forgettable, because she tends to be the one who's always searching around for her stuff. more often than not, adyle knows what she's looking for, and where the it is, so yes, adyle is her siri, in a way. albeit a very cheeky one. 

she's also very picky, especially during dance practices. when she is strict (and i mean strict), chaewol will and does snap at every wrong angle and every beat off. she strives for perfection, after all. in the dorms though, while she's less trigger-prone, she still nags her members to keep the place clean.

(let's pretend this is in an alternative universe where moonbyul's baby sister seulgi who was born in 1996 doesn't exist because timelines) 

chaewol was born moon sunghee in 1997, on valentine's day, the middle child between an older sister of five years, moonbyul, and a younger sister of seven years, yesol. (i'm also just going to call moonbyul 'moonbyul' rather than her actual name because it makes things easier) being a middle child, she has a pretty normal life; she wasn't strictly controlled by her mother like moonbyul was, but also wasn't pampered like yesol was. she was just there; not too obvious in the eyes of her relatives, but also not entirely invisible.

most of her childhood was relatively normal, and as a student she was the studious type, though she wasn't exceptionally smart. again, she just sort of faded to the background. the one thing she stood out from the others was her skill with the guitar. ever since she was a child, her father had played songs on his guitar to lull her to sleep, and she decided to learn some of the songs even after he was gone.

(okay background information; her parents' marriage sort of fell apart when chaewol turned 5, and moonbyul tried her best to shield chaewol from what was going on, which was one of the reasons as to how they became so close. eventually, when chaewol grew older, moonbyul did tell her what happened, though it was hidden from yesol because she was the product of her parents' reconciliation. no one ever mentioned anything about this and it was mutually agreed upon that it be kept a secret) 

around the age of 13, chaewol started taking an interest in dance. she enrolled in some contemporary dance classes, and found that she really liked it. as she was in quite a famous dance studio, as chaewol worked her way up the ranks of the classes from beginner to the advanced glass, she started appearing in the studio's dance videos. at the age of 16, she was scouted by jyp, and she was delighted; moonbyul, being in the industry at the time as a trainee, also knew how well-known jyp was, and was thrilled for her. 

chaewol then trained in jyp for about two years, but eventually it was evident that besides her good looks and her dancing (which she quickly realised wasn't as good as the other trainees'), she didn't have that many skills. many other trainees could play the guitar; even more could rap and sing better than her. chaewol then decided to have a break from the entertainment industry, and took a gap year after she graduated from high school, going to australia with her classmate adyle kim, who was from australia. 

at first, she felt strange being in a foreign country, but she soon adapted to it and chaewol fell in love with australia. she decided to apply for university there at the end of the gap year, after her english was near fluent-level. around that time, she was also busking with adyle, and someone filmed them singing in melbourne, a video which quickly blew up. starship caught wind of them, and scouted them again. 

and that was when chaewol decided to give it one last go, promising herself that if she didn't make it in three years, she'll just give up and go to uni. at that time, she was about nineteen, and mamamoo had blew up. she was contemplating on auditioning for a smaller agency, seeing as her being the younger sister of moonbyul would earn her some unwelcome remarks. however, adyle insisted upon staying in starship, and their resilience somehow eventually saw them through the trainee period.

– desserts; chaewol has a really sweet tooth. her favourite dessert is cream puff, though she also likes strawberry tarts and tiramisu. 

– pastel colours; when she was a student her stationery was either dust pink, baby blue, light purple, or light gray. 

– chocolate; chaewol is a hoe for chocolate. hot chocolate? sign her up. chocolate cake? hell yeah. the only thing she doesn't like is dark chocolate, which is kind of weird. 

– bubble tea; a month without bubble tea does not exist for chaewol.

– roses; her favourite flower (she claims that it has no association whatsoever with her birthday, though everyone knows she's lying) 

– her favourite season is spring because it's when flowers bloom the brightest 

– romance novels. not trashy ones though, high quality ones. she filters through them using her knowledgable eye (okay she did do englit back when she was in school so she isn't exactly trash at this but you know what i mean) 

– cafes. there's just...something romantic and aesthetic about them, you know? 

– too-big sweaters and knee-high boots. i should've probably put it in her appearance sections but she just really likes the aesthetic.

– flowers. she keeps succulent plants on her windowsill and is really good at keeping them alive. she also has a lavender satchet near her pillow to help her sleep, and on her desk there's a bunch of dried flowers.

– small animals; hamsters, kittens, puppies. she has a guinea pig in the dorm named 'ruban', which is french for ribbon. yes, she sometimes ties a red ribbon around the poor thing's neck.

chaewol loves her sister to hell and back. there's literally no other way to describe it because she just loves and idolizes her sister so, so much. the pair is so close that literally nothing will break them apart. when moonbyul was still a trainee, she had cheered her on and brought food for her sister. and now, moonbyul being a sunbae in the industry just tries to promote her baby sister as much as she could.

eden-- her children 

– groupmate :: ahn mina (20) / mina / blunt, sassy, caring / 10/10 / fc: jiu (dreamcatcher) / position: sowon
mina is the leader and dad of the group. she gives off this really cool and strong vibe, which clashes strongly with their fluffy and cute style, but she tries her best. secretly she hopes for a stronger concept though, but for now she'll stick to the short skirts and pastels. especially because she's one of the two rappers in the group. anyways, she makes sure to keep the kids in line with chaewol. they manage the kids well.

 

– groupmate :: kim eunhwa (20) / adyle / mischevious, cheeky, friendly / 10/10 / fc: rose (blackpink) / position: Yuju 
the one who causes literally the most trouble for chaewol and sowon. she's cheeky and bratty and mischevious, and despite being one of the older ones everyone automatically dumps her into the maknae line. that said, she's actually one of chaewol's closest friends because they've known each other since middle school. adyle also was the one who dragged her into starship.

 

– groupmate :: han eunwon (20) / starry / humble, cheerful, upbeat / 8/10 / fc:  lee sian / position: sinb
as the most popular member of eden, she sometimes feel that she didn't deserve the fame. however, eunwoo is actually a very humble girl who also helps her teammates out as much as possible. chaewol sees her as part of the older line and she also helps out with the kids. (which includes adyle, ofc) 

 

– groupmate :: zhang xuling (19) / xu / friendly, gentle, smart / 9/10 / fc: vicky wei / position: umji
personally, xuling is her favourite child. outwardly, though, chaewol will never admit it, nor will she say it out loud (because she loves everyone the same!). anyways, xuling is kind of like the oldest child in the family, and she helps take care of her 'younger siblings'. she's the average member of the group, friendly and cheerful but not really standing out or hiding at the back. 

 

– groupmate :: kurosawa minami (18) / jani / confident, friendly, helpful / 8/10 / fc: yuki (purple kiss) / position: eunha
despite her seeming to be one of the 'extra' trainees that wasn't really needed, minami is a force to reckon with. even at her young age she was already known in the film industry. to her group, however, she's still the maknae, so she gets pampered a lot within the group.

– it's her english name. at first she was debating between chaewol and yvelyn (just to match up with her sister's) but she decided on yvelyn at the end, because moonbyul told her that she had to make herself stand out instead of relying on her sister's fame

trainee life. 

– jyp: she got into jyp because of her dancing skills and a video that went viral. however, though everyone there was kind, she realised she wasn't cut out for the top three because her skills aren't that good. discouraged, she decided to quit and at the end even thought of thinking of giving up a career in the entertainment industry.

– starship: adyle dragged her into starship and it was hard to adjust back to trainee life at the beginning, but chaewol quickly get back into the pace and threw herself harder into training. at the end of her second year, she finally got some leeway and managed to secure a place in eden's lineup. 

life on hexagon. 

– chaewol, despite knowing that she has to fight for her place in the competition, couldn't help but continue extending her kindness and friendliness to literally everyone. she ends up being the mom of all of the younger kids, which was bad because she had to go up against them as well.

– at any rate, she doesn't do too bad herself in the competition, but she also couldn't go up the ranks. basically she's one of the trainees that doesn't really stand out and have average skills, though her dancing does draw comments from the judges.

what made you want to become an idol?

– at first, I just had an interest in dancing. but after my unnie debuted in mamamoo, I became determined to try again! and here I am :)

why did you decide to join hexagon?. 

– our company made us. maybe because we're a baby group. but I believe we could make it to  the top! 

what would you consider your best skill?. 

– I want to say dancing, but after seeing the other trainees.... *insert awkward kaomoji like TvT*

what kind of concept or concepts are you best at?. 

– hmm, definitely cute ones! or at least girly ones that are like girl next-door concepts. y is too hard for me, but I can try. I don't think unnie would approve though, haha.

is there anything you would like to try on hexagon? anything new?. 

– hmmm, I want to try out rapping. I've seen mina and xu do it, but I myself have never tried it before. oh, and hiphop! mamamoo sunbaes are great at it, so I really want to try it out as well
