Yes, Let's Go to School in Life-Threatening Temps

I wouldn't be shocked if you haven't heard of the North Carolina School System. Aboely the worst in the country. Education here , and sadly due to family/military preferences (ugh Fort Bragg), I'm forced to attend schools here.

The school district that I attend is a rather pathetic school district. You'll shut down school for the cold but won't shut it down when roads are icy? "Oh, the roads are fine." Then how come when the DOT show icy secondary roads you don't take that into consideration? We have been out of school since Monday, why make us go the last two days? I rather go to school for a couple of Saturdays when temperatures are bearable than go to school on a day where it's unpleasant.

Speaking of temperature: Low of 7, High of 18. Wind chill factor all day near or below 0, single digit wind chills.

THIS IS THE SOUTH PEOPLE! I MEAN LIKE HELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Get your head in the game you damn idiots.

We don't deal with the cold! The last air mass to come in like this was before I was born. So you know damn well that I am not fit to go into this kind of weather.

Not to mention that my school has inadequate heating. My second period? Yeah, that room has been freezing since the beginning of the semester. I am not looking forward to going to school today because oh. my. god. I will die.

I bet you half the school isn't even going to go because it's so damn cold. Literally every school in the Viewing Area is closed except for two--mine (Cumberland) and Hoke.

I sent like a 200-word message to the school system through the website requesting at least a delay. Students have to ride buses, ride bike, or even walk to school. Exposed skin = frostbite/hypothermia. I'm waiting for their asses to get hit with a lawsuit. I'm praying something happens to where the schools get reevaulated by the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT because this is just malarky.

To all students in NC reading this, I'm pretty sure you have some way to relate. Wake county? God I feel bad for those kids. But hey, they at leaST GET OUT OF SCHOOL TODAY.
