Top 10 songs on my playlist for 2014

I always give my playlist to my readers while writing stories, so I decided to share my op 10 songs of this year. This is my opinion, solely mine, don't bash my opinions and just read.

10) Kara Mamma Mia

The song is catchy, fast paced and very upbeat; falling under the genre of dance pop. Kara's choreography for this consist mainly of waacking, a very different style of dance compared to the usual MTV hip hop style many artist are using for their dance. It showcases Kara's powerful feminine charms and it's like a follow up after Damaged lady last year.

9) SM The Ballad ( Chen & Zhang Li Yin) Breath( 呼)

Out of the three version, I love this the best. Chen and Li Yin's powerful vocals matches the most, giving rise to the perfect harmony. Li Yin's high notes are perfectly belted out properly unlike the Japanese & Korean version where the high notes sounded strained and airy.  Chen's powerful voice doesn't overpower Li Yin's notes and it's a good balance of belts and falsettos. By the first chorus, I already had goose bumps from their harmonising. SM, stop keeping Zhang Li Yin captive in your dungeon.

8) BEAST 12:30

Beast Ballads are to die for, not mentioning R&B ballads. 12:30 was a gift to Beauties. 30s into the song and I was sure I was going to download the whole album and I did. Similar to Fiction, the song is slow and soothing but the dance is killer. Yo Seob's high notes and Dong Woon's baritone voice complement each other perfectly and the rap, god bless cube entertainment for not throwing random rap breakdowns here and there, Jun Hyung slayed it. Best song of Beast ever, period.

7) TeenTop Missing

Teentop never fails to disappoint me. Missing is an awesome R&B song; it showcases their melodious vocals and the transition from boys to men as they all come of age. The strumming of the guitar throughout the whole song accompanies the vocals and finally, the rap isn't awkwardly shoved in here and there. The different range of vocals by the boys fit in perfectly with the song. This is definitely one of teentop best works.

6) EXO-M Moonlight (月光)

Three seconds into the song and I'm in love with it. The ad-libs, the harmonising and the falsettos by the vocal line of EXO-M is just wow. Their range dynamics brought out the bittersweet meaning of the song and my, the pronunciation, for the first time, it's crystal clear. The lyrics are beautiful too. The melody is mainly drums giving off the slow 4/4 tempo and the cool computerise audio of magical whips here and there.  I definitely see why this is China's EXO=L favourite song.

5) BAP 1004

Need I say anymore? Dae Hyun's explosive vocals, Yong Guk & Zelo's awesome rap and the member's large range of tone. This is pretty much the best song for the first half of the year. The melody is repetitive and addictive; it's dynamic and definitely not mainstream music. The dance - urban style with R&B matches the song too. The hip , cat-claw dance and angel wing dance all matches the song brilliantly; thumbs up to the choreographer.

4) Nu'EST Goodbye Bye

I cannot describe how addictive this song is. Nu'est had been producing different genre of music since their debut; this song is similar to their debut style - urban hip hop. The dynamics are awesome, the lyrics are catchy and the beat is really fast. The dance, my my, I met the choreographer for this and learnt the dance personally from him. HOLY, it's tough as . My knees hurt so bad that I couldn't walk properly for days. The beat is so fast that you don't have time to breath. Props to Nu'est and props to Na Ilsun their choreographer for the brilliant and freaking difficult choreo.

3) Wu Yi Fan ( Kris)  There's a place [有一个地方] & Zhou Mi Love sick [一个人寂寞]

Tied at third place, these 2 songs topped the list as my favourite C-pop song this year, following Zhang Li Yin's not along (我一个人), Agape ( 爱的独白) & her remake of Hu Xia's those years and Lu Han's our tomorrow. There is a place has a soothing piano melody that matches Kris's low range vocals very much. As expected from a previous rapper, Kris doesn't have explosive vocals like Chen or sweet angelic voice like Yi Xing but his own baritone voice is somewhat soothing and comforting. Including the fact that it was his first self-composed song, Kris indeed does have a lot of talents. I'm looking forward to his future works.

Zhou Mi is finally allowed to shine. I preferred this song over to his title track maybe because the meaning of this song is beautiful IDK. He came out a Cantonese version of it but *awkward laughter* his pronunciation is so unclear that I had no idea what he was singing and Cantonese is my mother tongue. The mandarin version was good enough though. The simple piano and complicated orchestra accompanies his tenor voice impeccably. It's his self-composed song too so a thumbs up for the beautiful lyrics.

2) VIXX Eternity

The clock dance, Leo and Ken's high ad-libs and Ravi's rap alongside the other members's vocal. Holy ! The dynamics in the song are ever changing. It's hypnotising in a way. I was hooked onto it the moment I listened to it. I doubt I'll ever grow tired of listening to it. It's going to be like U-KISS Stop girl, my favorite songs of all time.

1) Infinite Last Romeo

Moment I heard the teaser, I marked down the date of release on my calendar and anticipated it. Infinite have this unique style of music that never changes and I love them for it. The strong bass, drums and Sung Gyu's ad-libs the moment the music started all captivated me. 1 word to describe the song, powerful. I've nothing more except this word to describe the song, congratulation Infinite, you've gained me, a picky and critical person, as a true inspirit.
