Wonderstruck [Movie Adaptation]

Last week, I went to watch ‘Manisnya Cinta di Cappadocia’ (Sweetest Love in Cappadocia) with my sisters in which I have been looking forward to watching the movie ever since I heard about the movie adaptation announcement around mid-March last year. If you were wondering, the movie is an adaptation of my fanfic, ‘Wonderstruck’ starring by Lu Han and Yoona. The plot itself is adopted by a Malay fanfic, ‘Manisnya Cinta’.

(the scene where Yoona was annoyed at the chatterbox women)

‘Manisnya Cinta di Cappadocia’ is briskly-paced, visually entertaining and often touching. Throughout the movie, I felt myself as though riding a roller-coaster of emotions. There are a lot of hilarious scenes that it made me laugh my heart out; emotionally touching scenes that it made my eyes slightly watery and last but not least, romantic scenes between our leads (Shaheizy Sam and Nur Fazura) were so cheesy at its finest that I couldn’t stop blushing out of embarrassment.

There are some changes in the movie for instance, they did not show the scene where Lu Han was the one who drove the airplane during Yoona’s way home to Seoul. It was like, the core part of the story, but it wasn’t shown. And yeah, in the novel, the place they went overseas wasn’t in Cappadocia, but rather in Cairo. Meanwhile, in the fanfic, it was changed to Malaysia.

(the first lunch date with the old, rusty car couldn't be any worse)

Anyhow, it was indeed a great movie. I’ve had so much fun throughout the 1 hour and 42 minutes movie. The chemistry between the two leads is dazzlingly amazing as well as the minor casts and the panoramic view in Cappadocia is so beautiful as if I was there for a visit too.

(as if a destiny, they met in Cappadocia)

If you’re Malaysians, don’t miss the chance to watch the movie. It’s been out in cinemas since 11th December, and if you couldn’t watch it, you can simply read the fanfic adaptation, ‘Wonderstruck’ starring Lu Han, Yoona and the other beautiful lineup cast. Either way, it’s a worth a watch and a read <3

Synopsis of the fanfic:

Throughout the years they have known each other, Im Yoona’s unwavering love towards Jongin has never faded but she keeps on wondering whether they are really dating for real. Later, it is vividly confirmed when Jongin has decided to part ways with her. He solely believes that both of them are not meant for each other.

Feeling betrayed, Yoona, thenceforth, starts to open up her heart as she is certain that there are plenty of fish in the sea besides Jongin. Her unexpected encounter with Luhan has blossomed into something that she has yet to grasp. Having known him for a while, she realises that he is the reason of her ectasy. She loves to be around him, making her days brighter than gems. She could not even imagine how dull her life without him. But what makes her utterly wonderstruck is when he comes and goes as he pleases.

What kind of person exactly Luhan is? Yoona, on the other hand could not help but admit that Luhan is the right guy that she has been longing for all her life.

wait, is the movie an adaptation of the novel or your fanfic? because it sounds like it's the latter when it's really the former in reality
