SM vs leaving idols...Stop putting ALL the blame on SM

A lot of people are giving SM for the idols leaving the company but this time around have this urge to defend SM. With the KPOP scene being saturated due to the debut of SO MANY groups, being under SM already gives you that ONE BIG STEP AHEAD of all the other artists. Just being under the SM label already assures you that you will get noticed. A KPOP ARTIST is not stupid. He knows what he has to do when he becomes one. He knows that it is a tough and sleepless road but when he signs, he agrees to travel this road. An idol has the choice to leave if he really NEEDS to NOT BECAUSE HE WANTS TO and then sign up for some other company. That is USING SM. SM's ways of handling their artist may not be as filial as how they do it in others but lets face it, SM is not exactly a torture zone. They also give their artists a break (Injury breaks are given people. really.) What I observe though is SM wants loyalty and money. Once you start planning things beyond the company's plans, that's when you get flying around. SM may seem GREEDY but from a business point of view, they do everything to maximize the returns. IDOL TRAINING IS AN INVESTMENT NOT A CHARITY WORK. If SM is greedy pardon me for saying this but there are greedy idols too. This rant may seem offensive to some, most even, but seriously, SM is not the only one at fault.

I'm really getting fed up with all the anti SM stuff *sigh* they're not the best company but yeah...good enough to debut the best KPOP groups of all 3 generations (H.O.T, DBSK/SJ, EXO)

Yes!! you basically saying what in my mind.. Stop blaming everything on SM! Face the fact that SM in a business and business purpose is to gain profit and all the training during the trainee period are the investment by the SM; so of course they work their idol hard but after certain period of time the idol can actually negotiate about their contract ( i heard it from somewhere) i guess by that time the company have recover their investment and gain profit .. Idol know what they got into when they signed their contract and they know the hardship and struggle to be an idol by seeing their senior and what they see from the industry.. Idol being train by any company then back stabbing that company back for me is just :(

Preach!!! Preach it to the heavens. SM is a business and the fact that Luhan is terminating his contract over mostly trivial reasons is bull. Sometimes I think SM was right in pulling Jessica from GG. She may not have been using GG's name directly but her company lives off of her popularity as a GG member. Who could honestly say that Jessica's business would've grown in popularity so quickly if she wasn't a GG member or even in SM?

preach it girl. preach it!!!!!!!! finally someone who understands. I'm sick and tired of ppl bashing sm for everything that happens. I get that sm tends to overwork their idols but it's for a good course. those idols should really really read the contract before signing or maybe sm should place cameras and record it. it's sad that they are backstabbing, sorry for my language, to the company who invested millions of dollars for them. a contract should be read carefully not be taken lightly.

My opinion on this whole SM debacle: If you don't like the contract, don't sign it.

You basically summed up all my thoughts right there. Other companies are exactly the same (for all them YG stans who're dissing SM) There's no such company which acts as a 'family' in kpop. In the end, money and income trumps any non-blood ties formed.
