Rap is for Rap.

So I recently read an a Allkpop news about 'Rookie group A.KOR's Kemy releases diss track targeting Park Bom'. Before any arguments (which obviously have already started), here's a statement.

Dissing and offensive phrases is relatively normal when portraying it as a content of rap. It's a widespread use worldwide from the amateur to the professional rappers. Just like other subjects, music has its types, so does rap. You've probably seen rap battles, if not then you probably have heard it, seen it at least once in your lifetime. In those battles, rappers tend to mostly freestyle what they're intending to say, some rap words which they've written beforehand and so on. No matter how offensive it gets people will praise it because of the 'uniqueness' of punchlines etc. whereas some will not agree as much and say 'nah the other one's better!' Two sided arguments are there for a reason. Good or Bad.

Now to the point, Kemy a member/rapper of rookie group 'A.KOR' dissed Park Bom on her audio track. When I read the lyrics she wrote, almost impressive, the uses of words and puns is a sign of a closely good lyrics. Scrolling down there will be Park Bom supporters and YG supporters but also other supporters from different fandoms, stating or arguing that Kemy 'messed with the wrong fandom', 'is only attention-seeking', 'this girl is an idiot' etc. There will be hate comments (a lot, 98% no doubt). Seeing that she's a rookie rapper, it's not as surprising to hear/see good structured rap lyrics, in her case, it's seemingly acceptable.

However...

A rapper dissing a professional artist, with long time experience, a vocalist who is a senior, Park Bom. Is a no no. Let me get this straight rap lyrics, no matter how sick it is, is generally or should I say, 'only' used for other rappers not someone of another section. Sure, it may be targeted on non-rappers okay go ahead, but just like everything, there will be consequences.
Dissing someone (as said above) in most music industries is branded as 'low' (mainly in western countries). Honestly, it's true. You don't just diss someone after debuting as a rookie, a person whom you know is older than you and experienced, without really thinking. And I mean thinking. I don't know if Kemy did think or not.

That's why there's sections of Music. Singing (vocally), rapping, opera etc. they are sectioned out for a reason, to keep the flow of each suitable for its purpose.
Some may battle against each other despite having distinct area, and? It's possibly, it's not illegal.
When one carelessly intrudes an unknown territory, we all know what'll happen anyway.

So basically my opinion, she shouldn't really have done that, what's your purpose? To get known? To portray your skills? Because you don't like the person? Or for fun? We all have our reasons. She had other choices. It'll be better if she targeted an MC not a pop singer.
Kemy can do whatever she wants but there'll never be a response from Park Bom contradicting her or will ever argue. Not even YG will say anything.

Simply because they know. Experienced. Who knows right now, all of them may be saying 'Mmm not bad. Next.' Or even laugh it off!

State what you thought.
