Chat notifications: Ever wondered why you were ignored?

It's most likely an honest mistake.

I had a strange feeling that users weren't really ignoring me. So instead of dropping my answers to their queries inside the chatroom, I place them in their walls. (But if they did ignore me, well, shame on them :p)

BUT reading the full descriptions of the discussion posts and then posting my reply in their walls defeats the purpose of having a mini-chatroom or discussion. And I'm tired of doing this >.>

The last time I created one, I started the discussion. After filling up the description box, I wrote the first post inside the chat room. The discussion admins/owners/creators should be the discussion starters, which makes sense. Why even make one when you won't eeven post in it, no?

The other chat participants would then have to reply to that first post. Not post a new message. Click the blue colored text that says 'Reply'. Do this so that the discussion admin/owner/creator would receive a "new chat reply" notification. Likewise, the discussion admin/owner/creator would have to 'reply', not post a new message, (unless they don't want the other user to know that they responded which is silly).

Anyway, that was before. I wanted to know if there were any changes or new notifications, like "new chat post" or "new chat message".

I conducted a simple test. You can view it here.

Nothing changed. You guys should start your own discussions and then 'reply'.

It seems that not many knows about this after all this time.

I even stumbled upon a couple of chatrooms and saw other users having a blast, without the discussion admin/owner/creator even knowing that his/her chatroom was alive.

And if you created one, don't forget about it, especially if you are looking for a friend ^^ It's not nice to ignore users when you clearly stated in the description box that you are in need of a friend.

Perhaps we could add this in the masterlist of feature suggestions. A notification when someone posts a message in our discussion.

That's all.

*I would like to thank PancakeJune for being nice enough to humor a strangers' silly request

I get that feeling yes. When someone starts a fun discussion, but doesn't reply anymore after a few hours or so. I also think people do often forget about their discussions.
