To Edit or Not to Edit? That is the question . . . .

I know I have said/threatened to do this before, but I'm being totally serious right now. The story I'm currently working on is Moon in My Eye and even though it has many chapters and so on, I'm not happy with many of it's features/chapters nor am I happy with where it's heading.

I am currently going over what I've written, editing it, adding notes of what I want to add/adjust/change completely and I DO plan on writing a 'new version' of the story--though I've been pondering on the idea if I should keep the current beginning (I rather like how the story began, but not everythingin between). However, due to all the subscribers and comments and overall readers I have, I REALLY want feedback, as much as I can get ('cause I'm greedy like that).

Here is all that's running through my head:

  1. should I continue the current Moon in My Eye? Should I finish it even though the edited version will be along the same lines (maybe)?
  2. should I just put the current Moon in My Eye on hiatus and focus on the edited version?
  3. should I get rid of all the current chapters?
  4. should I replace the old version with the new version completely or keep them both up and instead have the title say, like, "Moon in My Eye: 2.0" or something?
  5. will my readers be pissed at me?

Anyway, these and a lot of others are pestering and I really want some feedback here. Like, no joke, hit me with everything you think: worries, concerns, criticisms, advice, input, yay or nays. I WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING THAT'S INSIDE YOUR SOUL!!!!! .  . .  . not really, but you get my point. Leave feedback/comments either here or under the comments in my story. Thanks so much.

You readers and subscribers and commentors makes my day.
You make me laugh and smile and want to update so much faster. And, honsetly, that's kind of why I want to edit this story. Because I KNOW I can write better and I want to show you guys that.
*Muah* Toodles~

I seen this happen before in previous things I read. I feel that editing it and having readers go back and reread is quite disruptive and alot of the time confusing, so it's better to complete it and edit later.

Having said that, I even had story deleted midway because the author wasn't happy and started over. I'm of the opinion to do whatever makes you happy, alot of writers lack motivation when they're not totally satisfied with their work.

This is all my opinion, you probably already have your answer right and only asking us because you're super polite? :) I'll support you whatever you decide. Author-nim fighting :)

I think you should just finish the story and then edit the story
Just my suggestion :D

I've seen this problem on other stories and what they did was, they continued the story just the way it was and then they posted a link to a pdf of the edited version at the end.
I liked it because that way you didn't have to go and bounce all over the place in the story line where the author edited it; and if you wanted to read the edited version you could do it all at once
