Pull-to-Publish is the act of publishing your fanfiction as an original. There is an ethical way to do that. It is not merely changing the names of the characters like the author of Fifty Shades of Grey did. The result from the plagiarism software called Turnitin showed that Fifty Shades of Grey is 89% similar to her Twilight fanfiction, Master of the Sun. So basically, the author merely changed the names of Edward and Bella. orz. That's plagiarism in my opinion. She just gave Edward and Bella aliases. 

Celebrity fanfiction or real people fiction can pass off as original fiction since the storyline is ours (given that you didn't take elements from a novel/movie/manga etc.) and we are merely borrowing the names and faces of celebrities. If you plan on publishing your real person fiction, change your characters - not just the names, but also how they look, their personalities, etc. Give them a history or a background. This is pretty easy if you've done it right from the start - if you breathed life into your character. I mean, the artists could pass off as OCs especially when we give them personas different from what they portray in varieties or reality shows. I cannot claim that the Jaejoong or any artist I used in my fanfics is the real Jaejoong. 

Better yet, rewrite the story completely. So that no one would accuse you of self-plagiarism. Yes, you can be accused of plagiarizing yourself. In the scientific community, we just credit ourselves properly haha.

Yeah, they are lengthy but you'd learn a lot from it, especially the case study. A fanfic writer was interviewed on how she was able to transform her Twilight fanfiction into a published novel. She kept the premise and her OC but everything else was changed. Her published novel is only 1% similar to her fanfic.

He was only discovered because the authors had a huge fanbase. THIS IS THE REASON WHY THIRD PARTY DOWNLOADERS OR CONTENT SCRAPERS ARE NOT ALLOWED OR ARE BLOCKED IN THIS SITE. THEY CONVERT FANFICS TO PDF, EPUB, MOBI FORMATS MAKING IT EASIER FOR THIEVES TO PUBLISH STORIES IN AMAZON. SO STOP ASKING AFFHELPER. MY GOODNESS. WHY CAN'T YOU EVEN- ARGH. JUST READ WHEN YOU ARE ONLINE -_-  Or save stories offline. Still unsure about this feature. No, this ain't my least favorite feature as I've mentioned in my #aff5years post.

Kindle Worlds. A place where you can publish fanfiction of certain books, tv shows, games, etc. Original author/creators also receive payment. Read more here or here. Is this a good idea? You can read this blog to make you understand what the issues are now that fanfics can be sold.
