Recently someone told me about this "story " and I found that it is really quite meaningful and useful for the authors out there.

The author aims to stop plagiarism because well, everyone knows how annoying it is. I've had people tell me how I should be "thankful" that my stories are plagiarised because that means my stories are popular and good enough.

Uhm...that sure is one distorted way of looking at it.

I think most authors will agree with me that plagiarism is a no no. For one, we don't understand what satisfaction one gets from plagiarising the story. Even if the plagiarised story gains subscribers and likes and goes viral, so? The credit goes to the original author.

And honestly, it is such a chore for authors to deal with such plagiarism matters especially when it occurs on different sites. We have to make a new account on that site, then search the entire website for the reporting tool to report the offending user. Sometimes if we can't find it, we have to enlist help from our users, which is, quite a crude and drastic measure to take because despite what we say, vulgarities and criticisms are usually aplenty in such circumstances.

I don't usually advertise stories because I find it extremely off-putting, and there is no good reason to justify one's advertisement of their own story when others have survived without it. However I shall break my rule this once because I find this initiative really innovative and helpful.
