Today we will talk about a Rainbow song that brought some attention to them during their debut time. One that was composed by a member of their sunbae group, SS501's Park Jungmin. well, there were many versions of the song's origin. some said he composed it n some said he wrote it...if i'm not mistaken it's also co-written by Spica's Kim Boa who also was part of Sweetune i believe. one thing for sure, the lyrics are definitely by Jungmin(the only confusion left is the song itself) and since this song is very much associated with him(probly even more than with Rainbow, crazy i know but it's not for no reason), and maybe i'm just making excuse since everything lately is abt jungmin...haha...of course we have to include him in this post as well...lol. ok maybe we will talk even more about Jungmin...but bear with me...since this is rambling afterall...n how many of you stalkers actually cared about Rainbow anyway? tell me if you do...cuz you know...i don't know...

i find it kind of amazing that a senior perform his junior's song so many times, probly more than even Rainbow(ok, just kidding bout that...rainbow might perform it a lot on nonbroadcasted events so yeah...Jungmin also perform it quite a couple of times in his concerts n fanmeeting tours) ..since usually we see juniors singing to seniors song often but not the other way round. maybe this is due to the fact that he's directly involved with the making of the song, so he has some legal rights on it? but at the rate of how often he perform it...i'm a lil surprised he didn't performed it with Rainbow during dsp concert, n he performed SS501 song with A-JAX instead. ever the supportive senior to the dsp juniors(i mean hey, he even rip his pants for A'ST1 debut reality show...you don't get such passionately supportive seniors a lot...lol...ok, intentionally or not, that's a great length to show support...hahah i still can't get over how crazy hyunjoong laughed even after he fell onto the floor bcuz of it)...i really want him to perform with Rainbow once, n by that i mean, as in singing together...bcuz Rainbow already performed with him during Rainbow's early debut days during SS501 concert, but he's the only one singing. i guess, maybe it's his umm, distinctive voice range/tone/colour whatever...that's a lil hard to be match with many female...like, in his duet perf with IU(IU's duet song), they exchanged part from the normal(but personally i like how the lyrics fit better after the change but everyone just wanna blabla about how the original singer is the best...comparing cover perfs with original is quite honestly, stupidest/most biased comparison one can make besides comparison to their own bias) ...even in his duet song with Jisun for SS501 solo collection, their parts were separated...though i think their voices could blend well together...you've no idea how i love contrast...i remember he performed that song once with Park Gyuri...come to think of it...they have probly the same distinct voice colour type...he also performed it alone and duet with ahem...Hyungjuuuun. okay let's not go there...

anyway...when he first perform Rainbow's Kiss...i dreaded to see the reaction....he's a member of male idolgroup that has huge fanbase...Rainbow's the new girlgroup everybody enjoy to hate on(well, even until now...)...so nasty comments were to be expected...i mean c'mon all boygroups that i like have their share of annoying fans as is with groups i don't like...though TripleS don't have much reputation for being disgustingly rude n annoying unlike many other big fanbase...Rainbow is where i draw the line though...once you talk bad/bash/hate on them...i have unsavourly impression on you n ur oppars/unnirs...haa. but now, that some years has passed since he first perform this...i think the fans have more or less calmed down...i mean even back then, not all are annoying...every fandom has it...

personally...i got curious abt the song at first...just like many fans, bcuz i heard it's written by Jungmin n i'm surprised at the girliness/cutesiness of the song...lol. his first composition work...before later on, he wrote songs for his own albums...how could fan not be curious rite? and i instantly like it a lot since the comparison is with their title song, Gossip Girl...which i didn't like back then but kinda like it now...xD...just like how i didn't like Mazeltov too...n No Playboy....ok, i still don't like no playboy much.....i think Kiss earned Rainbow many early fans...frankly...now after Rainbow has gotten many more awesome songs...Kiss isn't my ultimate fav anymore but i still like it...it's a lil on the cutesy side(though Rainbow members not-so-whiny voices when singing this song, saved it from annoying me...you know, one reason i have no interest in snsd besides the fact that they're sm...was Gee. that song, and Wonder Girls' Tell Me are among the top tier of my all-time-most-annoying-songs n yet some of the most popular) ...but anyway...yknow...seeing Jungmin perform it brought out more cutesiness than Rainbow...creepy? i kinda think so too...but amusing nevertheless. besides, Rainbow aren't among the most girly girlgroups anyway...

^ performing Kiss without Jisook. this was during December 2012 right before their big comeback in early 2013(which kinda failed to me, dsp should've showed two different sides of Rainbow if they're going to do 2-part album concept....lesigh...not just cutesy n another cutesy) after they were sent to Japan just when they're doing well in Korea...i don't get dsp marketing sometimes(well, i don't get many kpop agency's marketing tbh)...i mean, i like their Japanese songs...they're probly better than their new songs...but rushing them to Japan when KARA was focused there....doesn't seem like a good idea to me(well, i think they did the same to SS501,A'ST1-except that SS501 made it big in Korea within their first year). nevertheless, Rainbow members are as cheerful n upbeat as ever...this was their first broadcast perf after a long time, and first after Seungah featured in Romantic & Idol...so i can feel she gets quite some attention. probly first after Hyunyoung's vocal chord recovery? ok, not so sure about that one...but they look so happy to be performing again it almost broke my heart...

 

^ university festival perf n one of the more recent/most recent ones, 2013! if you want to find Rainbow's best perfs...go watch the fancams of all their university festival perfs...because it's when they're most energetic, happy and crazy even when they perform so many consecutive dates continuously...though i must say this isn't one of their best...but still....awesome...

 

^ Jungmin performing Kiss during one of his Christmas concert...i heard that he actually had two concerts in same date and on top of that, he was in dsp concert just less than 24 hours before....that's...crazy. and he still manage to sing every song awesomely n be cheerful. respect man, just...respect. n dat fanservice! i'd love to have that...i love how the dancers posed for the photo too...n one just casually took the pic..aww,they're all so cute...him,the dancers,the fan xD...i thought he was gonna kiss the fan or something...but apparently...just the pic...well,can't make hyungjun angry/jelly.

 

^ probly one of the most recent perf, from 2014 Valentine concert. this is kind of creepy n adorable at the same time, must watch...or rather, creepily adorable?...one thing i love about jungmin n how he's different is that...compared to some members who tried to force on drastic image change or image/style that doesn't suit them...n making it came unnatural...jungmin does everything naturally...he doesn't force to be what he's not...even when he debuted, i think his music style was the closest to SS501 before he inched away slowly into his own style...which...idk....he kinda fits any style anyway since he's versatile?(lol,how biased is that)...haha...i still love other members though...don't get me wrong. oh, the song starts at around 04:57 though...funny how he's preparing his voice right there...n doing the MCing as well...lol. n the dancers...am i the only one distracted by them? lol. they're pretty funny n cute.....xD....and and...and...live band always make the whole performance even better. this is why i love his Japan concert perfs n downloaded everything...the sound experience were pure bliss to the ears....aaaaaahhh....i love the liveband...<3

to conclude, i really hope to see Rainbow perform badass boygroup song now...i mean, if boygroup can crossdress n sing girly songs all the time i don't see why girlgroups should only perform tame songs from boygroups...like for example...when u think of girlgroup performing shinhwa song...what song come to mind? T.O.P, rite?(even for boygroups...) i want Rainbow to go against the norm for once n show 'em how badass they can be...xD....like Storm who actually performed Shinhwa's Haegyulsah of all songs? damn that's quite badass...n without girlifying it.(though Yo would've been more badass xD) they also performed DBSK's Rising Sun...wow...i have the ability to relate even the most unrelated artistes together...well, can i say that's kind of a talent? haa. well, ain't that a randomly unrelated conclusion? yeah well...my style...:p see'ya later~
