Fragmented thoughts of a sick Keeper
Some fonts aren't made for reading, this is one of them. It would work in a title but not in the main body orz
One skill that should be required here in AFF is reading or maybe two, reading and comprehension.
It bothers me that some users don't read. They browse. They scan. Then they ask you a question that is already answered in the blog post, the story foreword or the author's notes, which by the way, is not even a paragraph.
In AFF Helper's Tutorial Suggestions for AFF post, you would see suggestions for photoshop and layout tutorials when it is clearly written:
"We're looking for suggestions that are strictly related to Asianfanfics and any of its features; as amazing as it would be to provide tutorials for anything and everything under the sun (like Photoshop and layout coding), we'd recommend using a search engine for all things not strictly related to Asianfanfics."
and this:
EDIT: As stated above, while it would be great to offer tutorials that can be used outside of AFF, like Photoshop and layout tutorials, those subjects and base codes/guides can easily be searched through Google. Our aim is to focus on guides meant for AFF and AFF alone, and are focused on features and how-tos you really would not be able to find off the site :)
TRANSLATION: Search google for Photoshop and Layout/coding tutorials.
Anyway, if you are a newb, I made a guide for you.
(I wanted to make an infographic but meh~ I survived even without a guide or tutorial.)
Even though we are not considered professional writers and we write real people fiction or celebrity fanfiction, fanfic writers still have rights over their stories.
Yes, we published it online but we can still decide who gets to read it and where. When we posted it here, it means we are allowing members of this site read our stories. It is exclusive to fanfic readers, exclusive to AFF. So stop with those third party downloading sites. Read the stories here when you can or use the save offline option.
And just because we shared it online, it doesn't mean you could share it too in other sites. You don't have the right to do that. If you want to translate it, ask permission first.
And just because you can read fanfics for free, it doesn't mean you are free to do whatever you want to do with it. Ask permission from the author - the person who own the rights to the stories.
So if authors say do not link any of their stories, you do not link them. You don't question it. You don't think them silly for it. If they want constructive criticism, they could just ask for a review here. Besides, the feedback authors want or need are from their readers not from non-fanfic readers. If they say, go ahead and link their stories, then go ahead and link them.
And just because it is okay with you, it doesn't mean it is okay with everyone else and you shouldn't expect everyone to be okay with it. Okay?
And just because it is not okay with me, it doesn't mean it is not okay with everyone else and I shouldn't expect everyone to not be okay with it.
I finally met an author who felt privileged after his/her stories got plagiarized.
I am not saying that every author should feel the same or that he/she should not feel that way.
To each, his own.
This Keeper is just amused. I remember saying that no author would be feel grateful when you plagiarize his/her story but I am wrong.
It's kinda cute to see those #aff5year posts turn into those tag posts/quizzes with the (borrowed from ___) in the title.
Someone commented how she found it cute that we or I call him "Boss".
I am not calling Boss Nichi oppa or appa or dada. Nope. Not that there is anything wrong with those terms but it just doesn't feel right.
Ask Google. Google has the answers. Google told me what you did.
I don't expect everyone in my friend's list to read my blogs but it is just so obvious that you don't xD
Apathetic.
I tried.
