E! News Special: Jay Park

Mom and sis went upstairs but I stayed behind to channel surf WHEN I saw the E! News Special. OMG. I was so happy I got to watch it from the start ON TV. I am more than two months late, I guess, but for those who don't know who Jay Park is or haven't seen this episode, you can watch it in vimeo or in youtube.

Wew. I'm... still... whew. I had no idea. AHA. But I won't bore you since I want you to watch it for yourself :3 and be inspired.

A few things I got though:

1. No one can pursue their dreams alone.

It was his mom who informed him of JYP's audition. Had she not recognized and supported her son's talent and passion, I bet he'd miss the opportunity.

While he was a trainee, he wanted to go back home but it was his dad who listened to him and encouraged him.

And let's not forget the fans. Such loyal and dedicated fans who stayed by his side no matter what.

2. Once you hit rock bottom, there is no other way but up.

From being the leader of one of the biggest kpop groups, Jay Park became an exile working in a garage back in his hometown. He was kicked out of the group, the company and the country.

But then he came back. He wrote and released his own songs in his own terms and he now owns his own record label, AOMG.

"He came into the system but broke out of the system"

3. Passion drives you to succeed.

He said that he didn't sing that well, his rap wasn't good enough and he can't speak the language that well. And even though he was a good dancer, he didn't think he deserved to lead anyone. But he was chosen as 2PM's leader. I bet JYP saw something in him. And that is passion. His love for his craft, his dedication, made up for what he lacked.

It was also that passion that made him open his laptop and do a cover of a Bruno Mars song after a long shift at the garage, which catalyzed a series of events that brought him back in the kpop scene. But this time, he is the boss :D

So just keep moving forward. You'd fall many times, you'd make many mistakes but keep standing up, learn from your mistakes. Eventually, you'd get there. Remember that every little thing you do today is preparation for greater things tomorrow.
