what is a karma point?

i'm serious. whats a karma point?

When you hear about the word 'karma' dont you think it sounds really bad, sinful or something? Like you did a bad thing and it will be rebounded to you. Yup, that's my definition of the word 'karma'.

So then with the karma point systems here in Asianfanfics i though that oh wow, i get karma points everytime someone thinks my story is a wreck. So i was sad when i saw my karma points slowly increasing, accumulating. Right now i have around 300 karma points. So i thought probably 300 people hate my stories.

But then again, why is everyone keep talking as if karma points are a good thing? Asking each other to send karma points; i dont get it.

Can someone tell me what karma point is all about?

They're like a currency here on AFF - you get a point every time someone subscribes, comments, or upvotes your story :) The more you have, the better. You can do some nice stuff (like change your username or enter advertisement bids). Remember, karma can be good, too ;)

It's not a bad thing (i used to think the same way. :p) or something negative. The more you interact with other aff users & the more upvotes/subscrptions ur story gets, the points increases. Kind of like a gift card? You can use the points to "pay" others users here to make a review, poster, or other graphics for your story. You can also use that karma points to upvote another person's story (an upvote costs 25 points i think?). Hope that helps. ;)
