hello. i have a lecturer who is a Canadian guy. he is a nice man and outgoing person.

but, i don't really understand about one thing.

he always calls me honey/ baby even though he already knows my name.

and, no. he's not in love with me because of two things; he already has a wife whom he loves a lot, Nancy and he's like a father to me.

he says that it is a sort of nickname for me. and, he explains something about Canadian culture, the endearment.

well, i don't really understand about this. so, is there anyone who can help explaining about this to me?
