     Kyuchae is a naturally quiet girl. Although she's always surrounded by loud people (a.k.a. her friends) you will more often see her just observing people, listening, and being silent. When her friends or other people ask why she's so quiet she would just say that she's like this so that she could balance out the amount of loudness and quietness in the group. Being like this, many people jump to the conclusion that she just doesn't have much to say, but it is actually the opposite. Being the kind of person that thinks a lot, Kyuchae actually has a lot of things to say but she would rather have other people state their opinions first(this is mostly in things like group discussions). when Kyuchae voluntarily talks, everyone in the room would listen because there is just a depth in her voice that's hard to describe and she has a calm and powerful voice. She has an easier time talking to others when she's around people she knows, like her friends and family (later on her group members), and she can talk to them properly. Sometimes she can even be the most talkative, but this is only when the topic is about something she's really interested in.

     She always has a mask of calmness around her and she always tries to make herself be calm as often as possible. This is due to the fact that she gets nervous easily but she always puts a calm front so that no one will found out. She finds that having a calm mind and being calm makes you think faster and be more in control of yourself than if your mind was always in a frenzy. Kyuchae is also a very considerate person, always thinking about and caring for other people before herself. Her friends even say that if Kyuchae was a guy then Kyuchae would be their ideal guy and they would totally date her.

     On the outside Kyuchae has the image of a very calm and silent girl, but when you really get to know her you will know that she is actually a dorky person. The closer you are to Kyuchae the dorkier she gets. There are moments that Kyuchae has that even if she's quiet her dorky side will make people love her even more. Although she's usually a very good listener, Kyuchae has a tendency to zone out especially when people run from topic to topic and Kyuchae will just be in her own little world. When someone finally gets her attention she would cutely say "Huh?" or "What?" which causes people to laugh at her but not in a mean way. Kyuchae's tendency of zoning out has been named by her friends as the "Kyuzodi" meaning the Kyuchae Zoning Out Disease and whenever Kyuchae and/or someone else zones out in a group conversation then one person from the group would jokingly say, "Oh no! It's the 'Kyuzodi' again!!" and they would continue teasing and joking.Kyuchae also has a 4-D ish side of her which you can see when you live with her everyday or when you see her when she thinks no one is looking. She may be cool and reserved most of the times but there are times when she does the most random things that you can't help but laugh. You could catch her making faces or practicing on making facial expressions in the bathroom while singing and dancing to a song. There are even times that when she finds something like a box or a basket, she would put it over her head for no apparent reason. There are also times where she would dance goofily and if she gets caught and sees you then she would immediately stop and act like she didn't do anything. These things always make people laugh especially since these actions contradict how Kyuchae is normally in public. On stage the quiet and reserved Kyuchae would disappear and a charismatic and confident Kyuchae would appear. Her voice and charisma would spread out towards the whole of the building and her dancing would just blow you away. Her charisma and confidence also goes when she is modeling or acting. 

     Kyuchae is also humble and always polite towards other people. She would always say 'please', 'thank you', or 'excuse me', and when other people are rude then Kyuchae would slowly get mad; she also gets mad if you hit her. She won't mind if it was an accident and you said 'sorry' or if it was an accident and you didn't notice that you hit her, but if it was an accident and you know that you hit her or if you intentionally hit her and it was not in a playful way then you better run away. She doesn't get mad easily. In fact it takes awhile for Kyuchae to get mad. Her temper is like a volcano, slowly growing but in control and when she has reached the top then she blows. If you hit make her mad then she'll usually get you back unless someone calms her down(usually someone close to her) or you do something to get back to her good side(giving her white chocolate or sour gummy candy usually works; the more the better).But when you really get Kyuchae mad then you will immediately be able to tell because she will clench her teeth, and when she talks she will speak in a low voice(she does this to control herself from shouting at the person she's mad at) and tears will start falling out from her eyes. She also gets violent when she's really mad, she would sometimes start stomping on or hit the floor. If you get to close to her she will hit you.

     Kyuchae is a very intelligent girl. Her mind is very logical and calculative which always helps her in decision making and in daily life. She was also always one of the top students in her class but unfortunately this intelligence doesn't help her in things involving romance. When it comes to romance, Kyuchae is the last person you should come to. She has no understanding of what liking or loving a person romantically is. She would have a book or her friends' first hand experience telling her what the signs of liking or loving someone this way is like but she still won't be able to comprehend it. She thinks that things like 'love at first sight' are complete lies. If you think you love someone at first sight then it's actually lust not love because you saw their face first. She believes in falling in love with a person with their personalities first and having a good-looking face is a plus.

Background:

     Kyuchae was born into a high middle class family as the youngest of two children. Growing up Kyuchae was always active, expressive, and up-beat. She would always be playing around with her friends and joking around whenever she can, she was the playful one in the family. Although she was very playful, she was also very mature for her age. She had to act mature especially since she and her brother, Taemin, were always pressured by their parents (mostly their dad) to work hard and stay tough and have a firm heart, because in the real world they needed toughness to survive and a firm heart to make firm decisions.

     Around the time when Kyuchae turned 10, her favorite grandparents died and Kyuchae started to became quieter and less bubbly until she became the quiet and reserved Kyuchae we know today. She didn't play around a lot anymore and started focusing most of her attention on her studies. Studying was what Kyuchae did for most of 2 years until Taemin started to cheer her up by teaching her to dance(Taemin was accepted as a trainee in SME at this time). As Taemin started teaching Kyuchae, Kyuchae started to become more alive. She found that she had a talent for dancing and soon started trying singing and rapping. In this time frame, Kyuchae found out that she had a passion for music like her brother. For years she practiced to become better in her dancing, singing, and rapping and her passion grew more. Her passion for music led her to want to become an idol like Taemin, who has already debuted in SHINee, and she wanted to get into SME so that she could also be in the same company as her brother, so she did. She was casted into SME as a trainee immediately after winning first place in the Everysing contest.

     Lee Changbok | 49 | Business Man | father-Alive | He is caring towards Kyuchae and Taemin. He would cook for them whenever he has time and would help them whenever he can but he also believes in 'tough love'. He's always tough on Kyuchae and Taemin because he wants them to have a successful life. He is tough on Kyuchae especially towards her school because he knows that she is the smarter kid between Kyuchae and Taemin(Taemin admits it also) so he pressures her to always do her best. He was against Kyuchae being a trainee but soon came to compromise when Kyuchae said that he always told her to do her best in whatever she does and singing is what Kyuchae wants to do.

Both Taemin and Kyuchae are closer with their mother because she's softer on them and she shows more affection towards them.

Kyuchae always knows what's bothering Taemin but Taemin always has a hard time being there for Kyuchae especially since he's an idol and also because Kyuchae always hides her feelings even around her family, so Taemin can't decipher her feelings. There are also times when they bicker and fight, one of their most visited topics is that Kyuchae thinks that Taemin is always too overprotective with her that she can't hang out with her friends and guy-friends normally since Kyuchae always sees Taemin stalking them whenever he has enough time to. Kyuchae also likes teasing him about Naeun, who she sometimes playfully calls "future sister-in-law"

He also has a naturally warm hearted personality and he wants to treat everyone well, but he just feels awkward showing his feelings towards other people | Kai and Kyu Chae are very close especially since their personalities are very similar. How you meet: Kyuchae and Chanyeol got into SME at around the same time. At the first time that both of them were supposed to be introduced to the start of their trainee lives, Chanyeol got unbelievably lost trying to look for the trainer's office; luckily Chanyeol found Kyuchae and asked her for directions. Kyuchae told Chanyeol that she was going that same way and to just follow her, Chanyeol followed. As they walked towards their destination, Chanyeol kept talking to Kyu Chae even if Kyu Chae wasn't talking back to him. Chanyeol then started making jokes to try to make Kyu Chae laugh. When Kyu Chae suddenly giggled and smiled at one of Chanyeol's jokes, she quickly tried to hide it. Chanyeol looked at Kyu Chae while smiling and said, "Hey, you have a pretty cute smile. You should show it more." 
Kyu Chae blushed and said sassily, "Well if your jokes were funnier then maybe I would."
They then kept sharing jokes with each other trying to see who would laugh the most from their jokes until they reached their destination.

Interaction: Chanyeol and Kyuchae act like how they would usually do wherever they go. but when Chanyeol finds out that he's fallen in love with Kyu Chae he becomes very nervous and talkative to the point where he would sometimes just avoid her.

Since both of them have been aspiring as rappers they have many lessons together. He doesn't give up easily and will work his hardest towards his goals. He can be a bit of a flirt and he sometimes playfully flirts with Kyu Chae. Scene(s):

-Kyuchae is unconsciously flirting with some of the EXO boys and Kai drags Kyuchae out making the excuse of wanting to treat her to some ice cream or something and Chanyeol takes Kyuchae away from Kai saying that he'll take her out.
-Kyuchae is a supporting actress in one of the new rom-com kdramas and there's a scene where she has to kiss one of the other actors. When the episode aired a lot of the SME groups' members were watching it in the same room especially because multiple SM groups' members were also in that drama. When the kiss scene showed up, all hell broke loose(a.k.a. Taemin and Chanyeol). And then there was chaos :P
-One of the other members(one who likes to tease) trying to do skinship with Kyuchae knowing that she doesn't really like skinship and Kyuchae just trying to break loose.
