THE TIME IS 3000 A.D.

Human genetics have long since surpassed those of earlier times. Now, we have hybrids and masters.

The hybrids are a cross between human and any creature you can think of. In creating such creatures, scientists have "perfected the idea of a pet." The hybrid obtains features (such as ears or a tail) of the creature they share animal DNA with as well as agility and superior senses. Otherwise the Hybrid maintains a human physique as well as free will. This small factor of being unable to erase a creatures free will has made the hybrids personalities unpredictable at nearly all times.

The masters are merely humans who buy or order a hybrid; owning them and treating them in many different ways. There is only one law that restricts a master's treatment towards his or her hybrid; do not kill or overly abuse them.

They are living creatures too, even if they are lab grown.
