chanyeon was born in seongnam, gyeonggi and she already had an older brother back then. chanhee also known as chunji from teen top, was born a year before her, making him her older brother. chanhee and chanyeon were very close since her birth and they remained that way throughout primary school. when chanhee turned 14 and chanyeon turned 13, they were still close despite of their busy schedules due to school.
chanhee and chanyeon attended public school. her brother's grade was spectacular while hers was pretty good. chanhee and chanyeon formed a singing duo and they always performed duets during special occasions like teacher's day and children's day. the two lee siblings auditioned for top media in 2008 and successfully became trainees. chanhee became a member of teen top after 2 years of being a trainee and chanyeon was transferred to starship entertainment in 2010.
