Bringing Back the Past

So my friends and I decided not to sleep last night and this morning... and to keep ourselves awake, we decided to revisit the past...

And by past meaning the dramas that has started it all... the dramas that has made every fangirl's heart beat...

I wanted to compile the songs that revived my fangirl life. I swear, revisiting the past makes me remember the reasin why I started being a fangirl in the first place... :)

HANA YORI DANGO

Now, who in the right fangirl mind hasn't seen this drama? For me, this was the drama that pulled me into asian pop. I was an obsessed rock fan then. I mean, the artists I listen to are My Chemical Romance, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Used, Paramore, Amber Pacific and the likes. Even I never thought I would be a huge fan of popular music.

Moving on, this drama revolved around the four handsome and awfully rich boys of Eitoku High School. The four boys, who the school fears because of their power over the whole school have been defied so bluntly by the poorest student of their school.

Shall we start with the character introductions?

The F4 or the Flower 4. The richest sons and heirs that ever existed in any drama are probably these guys. I mean, their mansions (palaces) are no jokes. And their cars... don't even make me gush about them...

Anyway, here are the main characters of this beautiful drama...

First off the list, played by Abe Tsuyoshi, the playboy son of the mafia, Mimasaka Akira. We all know how rich he is and how much he plays around. This person is the original noona killer. Being the only son of a family of three children, he has developed a liking to older, married (mostly) women. Akira has a childish mother (whom, I shall note, loves pink and fluffy things a little too much for her age) and two younger (and super cute) sisters who were introduced on the second season of the drama.

The next one is your resident bad boy... Played by Matsuda Shota is Nishikado Sojirou. He is the heir of the number one tea ceremony company in Japan. Being this rich, he has developed that personality of being three times more of a player than the son of the mafia, Akira (his best friend, by the way).

And who doesn't know Hanazawa Rui? I mean, this guy is the reason nwhy most of my stuff is white. Played by Oguri Shun, this silent white prince was the first person who had captured Makino Tsukushi's heart. Rui is the only son of the huge Hanazawa empire. He is very introverted which makes him stand out from the group.

Played by the Arashi member Matsumoto Jun is our baka Domyouji Tsukasa. He must've been the most dense, most childish and most charming stupid rich kid that I have ever encountered. His innocence have proved how much he needed a guide like Makino in life. Tsukasa is the richest of the F4. And being one, he believes that to be able to control the huge company that he was to inherit, he should start by taking the whole school under his power. Hence, the birth ot the red card. When he sends out the red card, the whole school starts to bully the person who recieves it and he happily enjoys the violent beatings that the students are doing to one another. A real brat he is.

This girl is probably the strongest girl I have ever seen in a drama. I mean, going against bullies isn't easy. And risking you dream because of the bullying? That's pretty brave.

Born in a middle class family, Makino Tsukushi studies as hard as she can, keeping a low profile as much as possible. But when her  friend had been sent a red card, she had decided to stand up against the famous F4. There, she starts her little journey that has vastly changed her life.

So we all know what happened in this drama. The story basically revolves around the lives of Makino and Domyouji who, due to social differences, had to go through a lot of things  The ups and downs of this couple had reallystrengthened their love for each other.

Here's the OST (note, I am having a hard time looking for the original MVs because youtube decided to delete them all)

Arashi - Wish

Arashi - Love So Sweet

Ai Otsuka - Planetarium

Ai Otsuka - Flavor of Life

Meteor Garden

This drama is the first ever adaptation of the manga Boys Before Flowers. I wasn't able to watch this as a whole but the F4 (the singing group) had got me too. I'm not going into much detail on this since it's basically the same as Hana Yori Dango (only that it was a larger hit).

So here's the OST collection for you guys~

F4 - Can't Help Falling In Love With You

Penny Tai - Ni Yao De Ai

I can't remember the titles of the other insert songs, I'm sorry >.<

Hana Kimi (Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu)

Who hasn't heard of the first ever live version of Hana Kimi? This starred Wu Chun, Jiro Wang and Ella. The story revolved around a fan who wanted to help her idol continue with his dream, causing her to cross dress as a boy. She enrolled at an all boys school and was lucky enough to be her idol's roomate. This is probably one of the original cross-dressing dramas ever made.
