[LEE HI] Obsessed with FIRST LOVE [ALBUM REVIEW]

TT_________TT

I can't stop listening to her songs.

At first, honestly, I really didn't like them., maybe because i just listened to each one of her songs at first listen. i didn't repeat it again, because i was busy and i had too many things in mind.

now, the thing is, i'm supposed to be on my hiatus right now. it's a week before finals and there are a LOT of papers to accomplish and to be passed this week (and some of them next week). if i'm not mistaken (and because i don't like backtracking and counting again), i have six papers to accomplish.

anyway, so, with all those papers that i have to do, i turned my muysic on and made Lee Hi's FIRST LOVE on loop. and now i'm addicted to each one of them.

Before, when TURN IT UP was pre-released, i got addicted to it right away. but since it's too hard to sing along to, i didn't learn singing it, i just listenmed but i loved it./ the beginnning is just awesome and ... no words can explain the song itself. too bad it's just an intro song. i hope they'll release a full song of it like what YG did with Bigbang's Alive on its repackaged album.

so let's move on with IT'S OVER. alright, so i have a LOT to say about this. the MV! omygod, that's just so cute. the bears and everything, especially GOM GOM E, he's just the most adorable thing ever, well, he's just secxond to lee hi, kkk~ anyway, the way that the song was conveyed with a bear as the leading man instead of an actor. cos you know, it's a breakup song and all, kyaaa~ it's justy awesome how their minds worked. it's just so awesome~ Lee Hi is so adorable and it really fit her image. cos she's like a kid. i let my 12-yea old sister watch the MV and she's like, "Awww, it's so cute" "Aww~ Lee hi is so tiny and cutre and adorable!" yep~ it's true. now with the song. it didn't realy got my attention after my first listen (with the MV), since i was too distracted with the adorableness and cuteness of the MV, i couldn't really focus on the song. BUT~~~ after i got to listen to the song more, i LOVED IT. and kyaaa~ it's so catchy. i dunno where i read it but someone said that although IT'S OVER is not as catchy as 1.2.3.4, it's still awesome. FYI, PEOPLE, IT'S OVER IS SO CATCHY~~~~ after multiple listens, i found myself singing along with the chorus and even dancing along with it. DANCING~ those steps she had, like the swinging of her arms, and pushing, and then putting on her ear like she's listening to something and then on both sides of her lips. andf then the sweep to both sides. yeap~ i've pretty much danced along with it everywhere i went, while i was walking on the lkitchen to look for something to eat, i was singing and dancing. when i was taking a bath, i was dancing too. while i was walking on the school hallway, i didn't dance. XD instead, i was ust swaying my hand with small movements and humming along the song. now, who says it isn't catchy eh? eh? eh?

next is SPECIAL. i was skeptical at first because JENNIE KIM is featured in it. and you know how people see JENNIE KIM. with her not-so-impressive raps on her practice videos, YG seemingly biased when it comes to her (remember the THAT XX featuring, and the nice editing on her first practice video, yeap, those raised issue of YG being biased), and her bullying rumors (p[lease don't ask me, i'll never answer), i was among those who said, this might not be a nice single. SURPRISINGLY, i also LOVE SPECIAL~~~ Lee Hi's smooth vocals and although i read somehwere that Jennie sounded like Bora of Sistar and even adding that it wasn't a compliment because it's actually a bad thing, i wanted to disagree. i think it's just the editing of the vocals. her voice sounded autotuned to me (or not?) but still, it sounded as if it was maufactured (unlike CL's flawless raps). surprisingly, with repetitve plays, her voice grew on me. they also said that the rap was awkward and all. i might have agreed but the entry of the rap wasn't that awkward at all. only at the middle that it did until it ended. but her occasional adlibs while Lee Hi was singing (i.e 'Gieogboda', 'dulyeobjianha', and 'first you made my heart beat, then you beat my heart') actually complimented with Lee Hi's singing. my only problem is her 'voice'. i wanted to hear her sing this live with Lee Hi. i hope so. also, i saw on a site that the 'heartbeat, bee-eeat" part was her voice? i think so too, but i'm  also skeptical. can you confirm this if you know too? :)

next is DREAM. nothing much to say but i just loved the piano riffs on this song. with jazz and RnB being the main genres, i wasn't really expecting those kinds of piano playing. i was like, "OMG~ i hope Lee Hi is playing this live" i can actually picture Lee Hi sitting in front of the piano while singing. OMG~ that's so awesome. if i'm correct, she knows Piano right? i can remember her on KPOP star playing piano while practing with Cathy young on Mama Do and also the Chocolate Song with jimin.. anyway, the song is so awesome~ her voice... OMG~ and may i just add? her high notes are perfect too. and oh, with the title 'DREAM', i never thought that it's also about love. i was thinking it's like 15&'s I Dream. surprisingly, it's not. YG never fails to make me amazed.

lastly, ONE-SIDED LOVE. have you guys read the news about Lee Hi's First love story. OMG~ i suddenly wanted to write a oneshot on it. OMG~ (just motivate me. LOL) maybe i will, but i'm too lazy. i can actually picture the oneshot in my head already. i just needed inspiration, encouragemtn, and motivation. LOL. anyway, the song is just so romantic. her being just a watcher of her first love and being cntented with it. i can't even believe that the guy still didn't know that Lee Hi liked him. it would have been very painful for him if he knew it before and now Lee Hi sang a song for him. OMG~ that would be awesome, it's like a slap on the face. LOL. i'm so harsh. anyway, i just wish that the guy knew and that it might have worked out, lol. lkidding. they're too young, i know. but, anyway, what i liked with the song is that it's really poetic and very meaningful. also, the fact that it's from a true experience added up to its charms. *sigh* it's just so awesome.

All in all, i give two thumbs to Lee Hi, YG, & the production team for this album. it's A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! omg~ i just can't stop listening to it. TT i'm obsessed. i'm really anticipating for the part 2 of the album. omg~

Rating: 4.5/5

(i removed .5 from Jennie Kim's performance on SPECIAL. and also because it took me time to love the album and become obsessed with it. i think it's still high :))

anyway, here is my ranking of the songs in terms of preference

2. SPECIAL

3. TURN IT UP

4. ONE-SIDED LOVE

5. DREAM
