lunch!au] || in which maybe sometimes not having a filter might make for interesting table conversations (junmyeon doesn’t agree).

Kyungsoo decides, after some mild thought during a lunch break, that his choice in friends might be questionable. Reasonably, he decides after table antics that ensue on a random Thursday around one-thirty (its a late lunch—apparently).
 

“It’s cold today,” Junmyeon comments on the weather. Of course.

“It’s the middle of February. No  it’s cold.” Sehun retorts, adding an eye-roll for extra flair.

Baekhyun clicks his tongue as he watches Chanyeol show Luhan how he can bend the middle two throngs of his fork to make a ‘rock-on’ sign, and then proceeds to stick the fork on his nose, in between his eyes, turning to Baekhyun with one of his more terrifying-than-not smiles.

Baekhyun snatches the fork and Minseok screams at him, “what the hell are you doing?!”

Baekhyun snorts, “saving him a trip to the hospital.”

Luhan interrupts, “if you had a knife stuck in your leg would you pull it out?”

Jongdae immediately says yes as the rest of the table disagrees, he looks around and changes his answer with a sort of mumbles and ‘never mind? no? yea, no.’ And returns to his untouched peas.

Tao shakes his head as Kris cuts in, “you call 911.”

Luhan snickers, “yea, you FaceTime and they’ll direct you the proper way to take it out.”

Chanyeol’s nodding along to this.

Yixing cuts in, “no what you do, is get a second knife, to then hold onto the first, and somehow you have to manage to get ahold of a third and—”

Jongin holds up his hands to gesture how, “yea, so you basically use another knife to cut out the first.”

Baekhyun bangs his head as Chanyeol rapidly nods, soaking in the information, Sehun looks bored and Junmyeon looks horrified at the turn the conversation took. It wasn’t exactly ‘table worthy.’

Tao looks slightly amused and Minseok is in heat while Kris kind of just doesn’t give a and everything just kind of loses meaning to Kyungsoo, but it’s alright.

Jongdae looks despondent as Luhan tries to ‘not-so-sympathetically’ cheer him up.

Why are you wearing such an ugly sweater. And it’s more of statement than it was an insult because according to Tao, Jongdae just has an affinity for terrible clothing and that his fashion sense was never developed because he was probably dropped as an infant, which is why he is the way he is today.

Yixing mutters something about snowflakes and suddenly, Jongin’s head is on Kyungsoo’s shoulder.

“Why are they our friends?”

Kyungsoo chuckles softly as Baekhyun explains to Chanyeol that he should just stay away from sharp objects.

“I don’t really know.”
