☞ background:

Her mother was a singer at the hotel her father was formerly working in. Her parents met there and fell in love. When they are planning to get married, her mother's parents highly disagrees with their relationship. Her father was an orphan and lives on his own. He doesn't know his parents and relatives. That is what Hyejin's grandparents disagrees. But for her parents, love conquers all. Hyejin's mother escaped with her father and went to Incheon. There, they had their life far from Hyejin's grandparents.

When her mother bore her, the doctor told her it would be dangerous to have Hyejin. The doctor warned her that there would be a possibility that they would have to choose who's life to save when Hyejin comes out. Still, her mother continued to have her. Her mother died giving birth to her. Because of that, she grew up being the 'mother' of the house. At first, her father became so devastated at the loss of her mother. He became drunk and useless. Her life became hard. Neighbors pity Hyejin and did the effort of feeding her and sending her to school. When she was 8 years old, she can't handle her life. She tried to commit suicide but she didn't succeed. Her father found her bleeding on her room and was shocked that an 8 year old child would do such. He was afraid to loose another family. He imediately sent her to the hospital. Since then, her father changed. He worked hard and tried to give the best to Hyejin.

By the time that Hye Jin came back to school, the news of her suicide already spread not only at her school but also at other schools.They loathed her, hated her, despised her. When she thought she would live a very lonely school life having no friends and no one talking to her, this guy showed up. He's the only one who befriended Hye Jin. He's the only one who talked to her. He's the one who made everyone accept Hye Jin. Years passed and they became best of best of best friends. But Hye Jin felt more than friends. When Hye Jin planned to confess to this guy, he left to go to Japan. He only left her a letter saying his sorry for not personally saying goodbye and that they would see each other again, when they have already achieved each other's dreams, became an idol. He told her to wait and he will too. By that, Hye Jin has worked hard just to be an idol. Eventually, Hyejin never met this guy since then.

She acts boyish but will always be a girl in heart. Part of her being boyish is hating cute acts. She definitely hates super cute things. She can't stand a thing. Beside from being boyish, she is also a quiet person. She won't talk or say anything unless she's required to. Sometimes, people see her as a cold person. But once they knew her personally, she is a really caring one. She likes to be alone for it is the only time she could have her quiet time. She likes quietness but won't be angry if there would be noises everywhere. Just pissed. She was never angry. She could only be so pissed people thought that she's angry. She doesn't like bothering other people. As long as she can do it herself, she does it alone.

Since she grew up only having her father, she acts motherly too. She thinks, acts, and talks maturely. She doesn't like it when people consider or treat her like a 10-year old kid. She doesn't like to be pitied only because she grew up motherless and had a hardlife when she was young. She doesn't like being taken peictures too. She never considered herself really pretty just like others. She was never really confident on how she looks. She would always ask other poeple's opinions when it comes to fashion and beautification. Seh doesn't think she's photogenic. so whenever a picture of her needs to be taken, she always uses her fierce / poker faces whereas she feels more confident to. Because of this, people seeing her photos thinks she's really a cold person. She has a low self-esteem and always sees herself inferior of others. But still, she works hard just to be equal (to what she thinks is equal) with others.

When it comes to sharing or picking up other's feelings, she could sometimes be sensitive, sometimes be insensitive. She can easily tell if a person is sad or just feels to be sad. She can say if a person is angry with her or not. She can feel when a person she knows likes a certain someone. but when it comes to other's feelings for her, specifically liking her, she is a complete numb. She always thinks that the person that likes her would like another person rather than her. She would always point and pair them up rather than feel that the person she's pairing with other people likes her.

Hyejin has this habit of tapping anything she could reach when she's nervous. Sometimes, instead of tapping, she nail bite. There are also times she does the same when she's excited. But most of the time, she just rub her hands together when she's in that mood. When she's happy, she pokes her cheeks to stop it from smiling but it won't stop, of course. She's too happy to stop smiling. But when she's pissed, she suddently become quiet, go to a corner of the room and listen to music. She'll stop whatever she's doing and do that. If she's being competitive, you'll see her paying attention really well, looking at the people around her then will suddenly go away, smirking. It's a precious to see. It's seldom she'll do that. The hardest mood you'll detect out of Hyejin is when she's sad. She rarely shows it. She'll stay quiet but that can be confused with being pissed. She smiles, hiding her real emotions, and you'll confuse that with her being happy. But one thing is for sure. She will be lost. She'll be nowhere out of sight. She just don't like people seeing her sad.

Hyejin was a YouTube star because of her covers. Many of her viewers have adviced her to be a Kpop star but still, she was doubtful. But once, she made a cover and it's his guy best friend from way back then. He told Hyejin it's him and all that. He told Hyejin to be a star since she came out good. He told her to be the one to fulfill their dreams since the guy took a different road. Having this unrequited love, she did follow this guy's advice. It's a good timing that Starship Entertainment has an audition. Unfortunately, she wasn't accepted. But then, months later, SM Ent has theirs too! She auditioned and was then accepted.
For a shy person like her, it would be very hard since she doesn't talk to people that much. But this developed her independence. She learned by herself. She improved by herself. She doesn't care for other things like competition between the trainees. All she cares is how she'll improve herself more and more. At first, she thought this effort was enough. But there was this session where they needed to be grouped to others. She immediately thought she'll be in a serious trouble. And she was. She didn't really belong to her group. They practiced together and she thought she knew all that she needs to know for her contribution for the group performance. But when the performance came, things kind of didn't go as planned. Her groupmates are absent. Three got really sick from the food they shared in a store and was sent to the hospital. One had an accident while going to practice. Another one had an emergency at home. That leaves Hyejin alone. Of course, she continued to do it even though she's alone. Well, with that, she gained interest, which is somehow good of her 'cause she got chosen for the group.

He was her crush for being so great and all that. || Onew has been her forever sunbae. He's the senior and Hye Jin's the new artist. He was kind and all but still, he just considers Hye Jin a rookie artist.

☞ requested scene: SM had this team building and every SM artist came. It's like a party which Hyejin would lovingly ditch but can't. There's this game and a female SM artists were paired with a male one. She's paired with Onew. For the whole game, she's with Onew. And another scene, where she's very sad because she remembered her mom. Then she went to the rooftop. Unexpectedly, Onew also came to the rooftop. When they're heading out, they can't 'cause the door is locked. They don't have their phones. They stayed the cold night together in the rooftop. :D
