I've long been trying to pair Yuri with someone. Yuri is really one of the Soshi girls (aside from Sunny and Hyo) that I can pair up with anyone and I won't mind. On one hand, it's good, because I can read fanfiction about Yuri with numerous idols that are often paired up with her: Siwon, Minho, Yunho, Yesung, etc... I love that I keep my mind open about Yuri, and a part of me wants it to remain that way.

But another part of me is curious, because I'm quite a hardcore shipper, and thus, ideally, I have to stick to one Yuri pairing and obsess with it (which is hardly a healthy choice, really. But obsessing OTP is my guilty pleasure anyway). And here goes, my listing of Kwon Yuri x ____ that I've tried to study:

• Yesung x Yuri

Perhaps one of the most famous Yul pairing in Supergeneration fandom. The Imperfectionist, if I'm not mistaken, is their fandom name. And I love the shipper name. It really emphasizes YulSung's flaws and how they could interact through their uber weirdness and all. I've watched their interactions, and I found them to be cute. Under normal situations, I will definitely have no doubt about shipping this kind of couple, really. I always love the symmetrical concept (I found the "opposite attracts" principle to be slightly overused [Yongseo is an exception], and I tend to ship people who have similarities. Yulsung satisfies the requirement immediately. I've read fanfictions about them and I love how awkward yet cute this pairing can be depicted. 

The only problem that I have with Yulsung is...I don't know. I mean, I should have fallen in love with this type of pairing immediately, but...well.

• Siwon x Yuri

The 2nd most famous Yuri pairing in SuperGeneration? (Tiffany kind of becomes Siwon's most famous SuperGeneration OTP or something). I think... maybe I can ship Yulwon more than Sifany. Maybe. I don't know. I love how y this couple could be portrayed. Like, they're both in charge of the y thing in each respective group. Yeah, a shallow reason for shipping an OTP, but there's just something engaging about YulWon. Love their CF (though at the same time, there is a Sifany CF, hahaha. No fanwars). Okay, I think I ship Yulwon 20 % less than I ship Yulsung? Yeah. I suppose so. They just look extremely good together and they let out the same vibe. But usually it takes more than that to make me love a couple. 

• Minho x Yuri

Moving out from the Supergeneration fandom, I think Minyul really is the most known and most shipped Yuri pairing out there. At first, I don't really know what's engaging about them. But after the SBS Drama Award Tango performance, I feel like I can totaly ship this pairing. There's intensity and the way that I perceive Minho to admire Yuri is very cute. However...the biggest problem in my shipping dictionary is...age difference. I'm completely fine with large gap when the guy is older. And though Yuri is probably only 1-2 years older than Minho, still...I don't really like shipping NoonaxDongsaeng relationship. And I don't really like it if the guy is the one chasing over the girl and the girl seems to be more dominant. I don't know. Too bad, Minyul is very very cute.

• Yunho x Yuri

Didn't even think about this pairing, didn't even know this pairing exist if not for Soleil_. I learn about YunRi not from youtube moments/facts or anything, I learn about them from Soleil's fanfiction (TOKY..oh my, TOKY is one of the most exciting fanfic I've ever read!) and I just love the innuendos, the ual chemistry, the adsfasdfas (ahem, , soleil you are totally corrupting my mind). But what I'm afraid of is... I fall in love with their fanfic personalities. Soleil's fanfiction influences me a lot, but still, I need real moments. I've seen some of Yunri's moments, but I haven't found one that made me squeal giddily and declare my ship immediately. I don't know. Maybe I'll just give it a time or two.

As you can see, the hard thing about shipping Yuri with the guys are... there's just something lacking about each of the pairing. Perhaps that's why I can never say I have any Yuri OTP. Perhaps. 

Though last night, I think I've finally decided on which pairing I like a tad bit more than the others. I won't claim this as my OTP yet. But I've decided to read more fanfictions about them, watch more attentively on their moments, and I think... yeah, this is my Yuri's semi-OTP at the moment. It may change, but I think as I'm writing this, I'm loving this couple more and more.

Ahahahaha, so yeah, the choice falls to MinYul! As I've indicated before, I may be breaking some of my usual shipping rules by liking MinYul. NoonaxDongsaeng relationship turns me off. The same goes to the pairing where it seems quite apparent that the guy likes the girl more than the girl likes the guy at first. I'm breaking these personal rules. I found MinYul's charm to surpass my usual expectations. Please also blame their genuinely cute interactions and some brilliant MinYul fanfiction that I read. Oh, and do also blame the Romantic & Idol show. This show makes me tolerate NoonaxDongsaeng relationship a lot more. 

Second place falls for YunRi. Then after, YulSung. Then lastly, Yulwon.

YunRi nearly ties to Minyul, to be honest. And in all honesty, I've prepared the YunRi fmv first. Made half of it and I found no inspiration (or good clips) to finish the YunRi fmv. That's why, when last night I start making the MinYul FMV out of the blue (and finish it in less than 12 hours), I feel like... okay, I think this is the proof that I like Minyul more. I realize that in the end, maybe more than the symmetrical concept, I love pairing that can inspire me the most. For Yuri pairing, Minyul does the magic for me. So yeah, I guess that's why it's Minyul for now. hehe.
