I'm really glad that we have an option to actually ADVERTISE whatever we want to advertise now.  It's really good, but...

As of recently when I looked at the "ADVERTISING CALENDAR," tommorrow's advertisment's higest bid was 5960 points!!  Who the heck has that many points unless if they don't already have a lot of traffic on their page/stories/whatever it may be?!!

PROS:

1. We can actually do something with our Karma Points now
2. Hopefully people will STOP advertising on everyone's walls
3. A great way to promote anything you would like it to be, since it doesn't necessary have to be a story or etc.

CONS:

1. The bidding competition excludes many, many users. 

The main thing I'm complaining about is Karma Points.  Even as an older user, I don't even have over 5,000 Karma Points.  I had only recently recieved over 1,000 because we actually get points for every lovely subscribers that we get now.  I know that I may not have been as active during some periods, but I think that it's not right. 

I know that it's a "bid," so it the highest bidder should get the spot to advertise.  I think that there should be an unknown maximum bid instead of a time limit.  I don't really know how well it would work out, but I don't like where this advertisement bidding is going.

If we, users, are given a chance to advertise, then everyone should get a chance to advertise.  I don't think that it's right that only some people get to advertise because they have more Karma Points.  Just because I don't have a lot doesn't mean that I'm not any less dedicated to this site or the stories that I write or my subscriptions than the users who do have more points than me.

Well, this is just me venting because I feel like I need to at least voice my opinion about this instead of doing nothing about it offline.
