A story i needed to post....

What i am about to tell you did not happen and is not about me. And as you read through this, just know that there will be No clarifications to be made, no ending to be concluded and no happy endings to talk about. But, this story did happen. It started with promised words, short yet strong, fleeting yet never forgotten. If you think its "i love you" then you are mistaken, yes "i love you" is short and strong and some say its fleeting in all our tongues but these words are never by any means forgotten. But its not "i love you" that i am talking about, its the words, "i do..." "i do".... These words. Yes, we all know where it came from and we know where it is usually said. It is a standard word to a vow. and when it becomes a promise word, it always carries everything in ones being -- body and soul -- to the next level, though out their lifetime. These two words or three letters, "i do" that was what he promised when asked, "do you take her to be your wife? Do you promise to be true to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, to love her and honor her all the days of your life, until death do you part?" He simply answered "i do" The promise he made, witnessed by so many, sighed over by a few will wishers and the thing that brought tears to most mothers eyes. The promise was sealed with a kiss. ... And that was where it began.... But now i ask, what if "i do", was an empty promise? The words that began it all was the words that ended it all. Cause now with his promised words, it turned into knives that pierce and hurt. and his "i do's..." it was th death of it all. The doors opened and right there in plain sight, he stood with her, another woman. They stood frozen, no where to hide and no where to go. It was like every tragic story ever made, a story that started with a happy fairy tale with a promised a beautiful ending that ended with tears that flowed like a river. It was not a fairy take with a hapy ending, this was reality. This was not snowwhite's story where a kiss of true love can restore death even pain. And with those two people standing side by side with guilty looks and awkward silence between them, it multiplied and rippled the broken promise of the "i do" he made. But more than the broken promise, what of a shattered heart? Is it his fault? He said he was just too weak. He said it was a lapse in judgement. But what explainations can be heard when the breaking of the heart resounds throughout the body. He said "i am sorry", he promised he was sorry, another promised words. Should those words be accepted when his previous promise can easily be broken. He said "i love you", but those words, doesnt it ring much like the words "i do" and "i am sorry". These words: i do, i am sorry and i love you; they are short yet strong, fleeting yet never forgotten... And it hurts like hell. So i ask you now, what is to be done? Will a broken promise ever mend? Will the new promised words be acceptable? Will "i do" be ever be accepted when it has been a broken promise since the start of time...? what should be done....

first, pain, just pure pain coursing throughout the whole being
what could be done? between the couple, it will be their choice on what path to take, together hand in hand or separate ways
but, what of the children suffering because they themselves felt betrayed
it is not just a couple's broken promises, but many have broken hearts
