sora is a very confident and charismatic person by nature. she has a natural charm that makes people turn their heads to see her. she's also always open to new ideas and opinions, even if they aren't what she normally thinks of or lives by. despite always relying on her brother when she was younger, she became really independent after yato had left home and began to train. because of her dad's busy schedule, she was usually left alone and only had herself to entertain and take care of. naturally witty, she's fairly quick to spill out some humor with her wit just to make everyone laugh or to brighten up a room.

being alone most of the time has made her somewhat sarcastic (someone has to be when her older brother is practically a man child). her sarcasm doesn't have a off button really, so even though it can make others laugh, it could also hurt during serious times. much like her wit and charisma, yukina is lively and bold when it comes to her famous wit. she's rather cheeky and comes off as a sassy person, whether it's good or bad.

BACKGROUND

when sora was born, it was bittersweet. her mother was very sick and couldn't hold on after she was born. the whole family took the death to heart, but her father and brother knew that they had to keep it together to take care of sora.

as sora grew up, she didn't see her father all that much. he was busy with work, being a ceo wasn't easy. instead of her father, yato was always there for her as a big brother and a father figure. sora was the light of yato's world, never getting tired of taking care or playing with his little sister.

yato's dream of being a musician was allowed by their father, but told him he'd have to do it himself. although with nothing, sora was there for him as his biggest supporter. he was the main reason she got into music. when sora saw all the other girls in her class going to vocal and dance lessons, she wanted to go too. yato was so excited at the thought of sora wanting to become a idol someday. month after month, yato found sora having fun in her vocal and dance lessons.

dance lessons were where sora came to life. instructors found sora having a natural talent for dancing, watching her soak up different techniques and adding her own flair. she was still young, but they watched as she poured her heart into dance training that they knew she was certainly going to be a great dancer someday.

then yato was scouted by avex trax on the streets. sora was a mess when yato came home and told her the news. did this mean he was going to leave? if he left, who would she have then? but yato made sure to calm his baby sister down, thinking he could take her with him to tokyo. the idea was shot down by their father. sora was just too young and yato was too young to be taking care of sora while he was training. how would he support her?

so yato promised his sister that they would meet again and for her to always smile no matter what. after yato left for tokyo, they still made sure to contact each other as much as he could with his busy schedule. the day finally came when yato debuted in c:ode. sora was amazed at how much yato had changed and grown. it was amazing! eventually avex trax was holding auditions for girls. she wanted to be close to her brother!

their father noticed how sora would follow her brother's every move, using him as her motivation. he knew his daughter had a natural talent for singing and dancing. despite not being there for most of her childhood, he still wanted her to be happy. he helped her with her new vocal lessons (well, he tried), looking up different types of vocal and dance techniques and to help her have one foot ahead of all the other girls her age. singing and dancing was her absolute dream!

at the age of fourteen, their father finally allowed her to follow her dreams, but only if she made it into avex trax! so with all her strength and motivation, she found her way into avex trax to be on the big stage just like her brother!

RELATIONSHIPS

→　TAKAYAMI KOISHI　father, 1958  --  her father is a strict man that mellowed out from his late wife and now his children. he likes to try and still be that strict man, but sora knows he's just a big ol teddy bear. koshiro is a ceo of a big corporation (yamisho corp) back in hokkaido that takes up most of his time. he did admit that he overworked himself because of grief from his wife's death, but he has a clearer and better mind now. his children (despite being adults) are his priority.

→　TAKAYAMI YATO　brother, 1989  --  yato is the light of sora's life while she's light of his life. don't underestimate their sibling bond. whenever they are near each other, they're practically joined at the hip. yato is extremely protective over his little sister and will fight anybody who tries to humilate or date her (which is why she hasn't told him about her crush on akimitsu yet). he always does shout outs to sora at his concerts and on stages because she is the reason why he continues to do what he loves.

→　C:ODE　brother's band  --  c:ode is a five membered visual kei band from avex trax which consists of yato (leader, drummer, backup vocals), suki (lead vocals, occasional guitar), yaya (lead guitar), giyo (rhythm & acoustic guitar, backing vocals), and natty (bass, keyboardist, piano). they are one of the most popular visual kei bands in japan (based off of the gazette).

despite being the lead vocals in the band, mitsuki is the quietest of the group. he's like the quiet dad who watches over the group to make sure they aren't getting into too much trouble. it's a surprise he didn't get the leadership position. he and yato are the most popular ship of the group because of how close he is to yato. sora used to have the biggest crush on mitsuki which yato likes to and mitsuki about. mitsuki lets yato get away with it.

→　SHIRAYAMA YAASU aka YAYA　1985, 187cm  --  known as the lazy because he barely moves and has people do things for him. usually found asleep most of the time.

yaasu doesn't mean to be lazy, he's just a very tired person due to his narcolepsy. even his voice sounds tired and sleepy. it's a surprise that he's the lead guitarist. he even looks like he's about to fall asleep when playing his instrument, though playing guitar is his life. though he has the biggest soft spot for sora, becoming another big brother to her.

→　NAM YOONGI aka GIYO　1985m 185cm  --  known as the flower boy because of his natural good looks and the way he makes their fans swoon when he smiles.

a pure korean in a visual kei band, yoongi was uncomfortable at first. this culture was completely new to him, it was until he met yato when he transferred to avex trax. yato helped him convert to japanese culture and got him to love visual kei, getting him to join his band. he is like a uncle to sora, always being there for her when she needs someone to talk, etc. he is the person who got sora into kpop and helps teach her korean whenever he can.

natsu is a very hyper kid, well he is the youngest of the band after all. he has high energy levels and is always found snacking on candy, jumping around like a five year old, etc. despite him being older than sora, he makes sora feel like she's older than him. his energy alone makes you feel old.

sora's voice is rather unique. she holds a bit of the stereotypical japanese vocal tone, but not enough that it sounds too nasally or fake. she has great range, hitting low and high notes with ease. her best range is in the middle, holding middle notes better than low or high ones. arguably, she could be considered lead vocal material, but there's no doubt a lot of great singers that have better technique than her, so she gets just a normal vocalist position.

there's no doubt that sora's main talent is dancing. it comes to her like breathing. she's been dancing most of her life and you can tell in the way she moves. she's fluid and flexible, super strong in her movements. she's versatile, not sticking to one style all the time which opens her up to many different concepts.

TRAINEE LIFE

training life ... wasn't that hard, but hard at the same time. at first she was sad that she still hadn't got to see her brother that often especially since his band was getting more and more popular. though she didn't let that stop her. her vocal and dance skills had her above the rest of the girls, especially with how young she was at the time.

she impressed most of all her instructors with her dancing, watching her whole face light up once she began to dance. they all could tell that dancing was her life, though they were there to help her succeed in other ways.

sora's dancing continued to flourish under the company, soon she was developing her own style, but she never stopped taking classes. she felt like there was never enough dancing she could learn. whether or not she could actually do new things, she tried her hardest and found what she could do.

after 3ish years with avex trax, sora noticed she was going nowhere with the company and it made her angry. her dancing was good, her singing was getting better...why wasn't she put into a group yet? it only took a year before her brother got his band!

the only thing that garnered some kind of activity was the videos she did with avex trax's artist academy...but they truly weren't doing anything else.

it was actually yato's bandmate giyo who suggested sora enter a korean company instead. he knew with her cute looks and amazing skills that she would definitely be loved back in south korea. there were a few companies that were open for female auditions and so everyone helped her with videos and sent them. soon enough, she got a response back from the one and only source music, home to gfriend (at the time). giyo said that they seemed to be a solid company and told her just to go for it.

much like at avex trax, she was quickly praised for singing and dancing, but she had to learn how to sing in korean so it was like almost learning how to sing all over again. but it wasn't nothing that sora couldn't handle. there were a few trainees that seemed to be jealous of sora's attention, but she really couldn't bother with what they thought. she had a goal to be an idol and she would reach that goal with his skills.

except...much like with avex trax, there wasn't much talk about another girl group until 2019 when source music became a subsidary under hybe. there were tons of talk about a new girl group, especially after gfriend's questionable disbandment. many girls thought sora was going to be a part of the said group, but before source music could even think of such a thing, bighit opened their doors for female trainees once more...and sora was a trainee that they wanted. with such a big name like bighit, sora agreed with the transfer and soon enough she was now an official bighit trainee.

and it wasn't a surprise when she was one of the few girls to be instantly thought of for the new girl group project, with her skills it would be a dumb idea not to include her.

PRE-DEBUT

→　sora did some modeling as a kid back in japan for a few children fashion brands.

→　while under avex trax, she was enrolled in their artist academy where a few of her dance videos can be found.

→　sora featured on a song for her brother's band. perfect blue was a song that her and yato thought about back when they were younger. the song ended up being a bonus track on their studio album dogma. the song had a totally different tune to the kind of music the band plays, which is why it was a bonus track. sora even participated in a few concerts to sing the song live.

MYSTERIOUS FEMALE VOCALS

→　2015, answered  --  for c:ode's 2015 studio album dogma, they released a bonus track that was a complete opposite to their own music and contained female vocals. yato admitted to the female vocals being his little sister's voice and they even added her to some of their concerts for her to sing it live.

c:ode fans had already known who sora was, cause yato always spoke about her and gave her shoutouts. they were pleasantly surprised with her vocal ability.

SPECIAL TREATMENT?

→　2022, false  --  when pop girls' members are being revealed, many netizens are quick to find out that sora is the younger sister of the popular visual kei band C:ODE's leader and the daughter of the successful yamisho corp. they thought sora bought her way into the group which is actually a bit far from the truth.

→　sora, who is pretty versatile, could probably fit into all three, if you really think about it, but if we really had to think about it, she'd probably pick the nabi unit. she is a classic beauty and her visuals would fit the 'classically kpop' unit the best. though she is interested in the mix unit, mainly because she wants to try new things and with that unit being the experimental one, it'd definitely be something new to her.

→　squishy  --  akimitsu has a super squishy side that he only shows for sora, so whenever he's acting squishy, she naturally calls him this.

PERSONALITY

akimitsu is what you would call a person who knows they are good looking and flaunts it. he knows he comes off as this narcissistic person, but he really doesn't care. he's also not one to beat around the bush. he's blunt, very much so. he doesn't have a filter and it's what gets him into a lot of trouble. being sarcastic and stubborn are other factors that tend to get in his way of growth, but they are what makes him, him.

but what most don't know is that it's mostly a front, a character he puts on for the camera. he's actually quite the sweetheart and knows how to be a gentleman. he's a bit shy as well, not really going out on his own accord to introduce him really.

though he secretly has a super squishy soft side which comes out during acting (if it's the part) or when it comes to sora (but not like he actually shows it to her face).
