Taking a little break (it turns out i spent 3 hours on this lmao) from writing to do this because it's gonna be something fun to look back in the future hehe. I suppose this Tumblr post is the original, @any author out there, I would love to read your version to!

1. Describe your comfort zone

so far i'm only comfortable with themes and characters not too extreme in their moral values. so no , no horror, no mental illness, no psychopathic tendencies, you name it.

so yep, i'm just your average jane who likes to write angsty romance, positive outlook in life for the base of the story. i like writing ambiguous endings, though. not exactly happy or sad, but meaningful enough to resonate in readers' impressions.

2. Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

amnesia and/ or mistaken identity. some day, some day, i'm gonna write something based off those two.

3. Is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole?

love at first sight, soulmate (more yet to think of rn...)

4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

more or less 16 i suppose? many of those are only a seed of idea, not yet fully developed to a comprehensive plot.

one of them is, eh, a bold lesbian girl and a nerdy yet to realize her ual preference (i know, but every single one of my fics starts from something like this orz)

5. Share one of your strengths.

making my characters miserable probably?

i'm scared to assign imperfections to my characters :(

7. Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

"Are you thinking about what I'm thinking about right now?" Somehow Hyunjin managed to understand what Minho was talking about, despite the muted 'b' sounds and other mispronounced words as Minho whispered through his completely still, half-opened mouth. It was a scene where the editors would mute the audio and dub it with some romantic music in the background, so practically Minho wasn't ruining it.

Seeing Minho's soft eyes and hearing his panic-laced voice escaping from his unmoving mouth like a ventriloquist at the same time like this would make Hyunjin burst out laughing at any given instance, but not when the older was literally hovering on top of Hyunjin. Trapping his gaze with Minho's own, scantily any distance between their faces. Hyunjin was more occupied with the scarry realization that he was silently enjoying Minho's steady breath brushing the surface of his heated cheeks. And he almost forgot what Minho was talking about.

i'm proud because i can read it without cringing and even be able to enjoy it. lol. can't say the same about most of my writing so that's saying a lot.

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

"Why so secretive?" He hears Sooyeon tease from behind shortly after he hit the send button.

So he chuckles and shakes his head, saying, "it's not what you think."

"Maybe, maybe not. I don't give a damn. Get back down and cuddle with me for a few more minutes, will you?"

i'm proud because it describe 90% of these two characters' relationship with each other lol.

9. Which fic has been the hardest to write? 

it's always hard but lately, 'it's a no this time' [karina x winter] because i realized halfway the plot .

10. Which fic has been the easiest to write? 

'we are no gods' - jisung x chenle. plot is pretty straightforward and there's no need for overly dramatic description on romance because they're just friends here lol.

11. Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?

something in between.

12. Is there a moment above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?

whenever i look for pics to edit or upload as my story poster. idk visual cues have always been the stronger inspiration for me. when i have trouble coming up with ideas i would usually stare at the pics of my main characters lmao.

13. What’s the best writing advice you’ve ever come across?

ehhh, probably, 'read a lot'?

14. What’s the worst writing advice you’ve ever come across?

'keep writing, it gets better.'

it doesn't until you are aware or you get proper feedback on what you need to work on. or like the above as legends have it, 'read a lot'.

15. If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

'of alienated body and soul' (baekhyun x ocs). for the rated scenes lmao (sorry i'm a :/)

jk, you know supernatural things are best if displayed on screen.

16. If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

yuta x taeyong? (it would be so boring tbh even though they are my otp jc)

if idol x oc counts i may go for kai? this man is versatile af i can imagine him anyhow i would like.

17. Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

former but i do latter when plotting.

18. Do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?

outlines been working great for me. (what other tools can possibly exist though?)

19. Stephen King once said that his muse is a man who lives in the basement. Do you have a muse?

i write fanfics so there goes the answer :)

20. Describe your perfect writing conditions.

like many i like to be alone in my room and no sounds can be heard.

21. How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

1-2 times in normal cases. i like to quickly share my piece cause it gets a bit troublesome to re-read too much because i know there'll always be things i want to revise the more i re-read but i'm such a lazy bum.

22. Choose a passage from one of your earlier fics and edit it into your current writing style.

okay i'll pick my debut fic ('Simple love' - Kai x OC, can be found in my oneshot request shop the T1 one) because it's so stupid and it's so easy to fix because no matter what it can't get any worse lol:

I stop texting back as I’m amazed now that I know she’s such a tomboy. But really, how can a girl be so comfortable around boys like that? Well I do have female friends but heck this is a matter of sharing a living space, not just hanging out! But now I’m considering more about the jealousy thing, she sure is jealous, being from an orphanage and such…

i'll change it to:

My eyes linger at her text for a while, as I just discovered how much of a tomboy she actually is and I'm quite awestruck. How liberated can a woman be to have the courage to cohabit with a man? She's talking about it so casually as though it's an equivalance to like, me and Amber going out on a gym date.

Once I'm finally snapped out of my own daze, though, the matter of her being an orphan surges back to my mind. I feel bad for bringing up her past yesterday, and I want to do something about it.

(i don't even remember what all this is about lmao but that's a much better revision without context i'm sure)

23. If you were to revise one of your older fics from start to finish, which would it be and why?

'Just a Cruel Game' (Jungkook x OC)

because the plot is faulty as hell though i really like the initial idea and i like their chemistry (even though OC is an and if i were to rewrite ofc i'll give her a bunch of redeeming qualities)

24. Have you ever deleted one of your published fics?

i think one or two? they were definitely unfinished and only at their early stages though because i like to archive my writings no matter how much they .

25. What do you look for in a beta?

if i ever have one i'd like them to give their honest insights especially about the characters.

and they do not just outright change the wordings but giving suggestions to why this could've been written this way etc.

26. Do you beta yourself? If so, what kind of beta are you?

is beta like, proofreading? if so, i mostly check the wordings, if it flows naturally; and descriptions, if it falls short or too redundant (most cases always fall to the former though)

27. How do you feel about collaborations?

i'm too competitive for that lol.

28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

dinjin for their friendliness and the top-tier humor in their fics

SkyeButterfly for their writing style.

julien1401 also for their writing style and incredible range/ use of vocab.

there's more i wish to list including those from outside of aff but these 3 are those that came to my mind!

29. If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

prequel to 'How Roses Live: A Complete Guide' (Suga x Jungkook, Suga x V)!

yep. prompts are one of the easiest triggers for plot ideas to me personally.

31. Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your fic being canon compliant?

former. i opt for whichever fits my own plot most of the time, though i do tend to keep canon compliances as much as i can.

32. How do you feel about ?

i love it if there's emotions in between otherwise i skip/ skim.

33. How do you feel about crack?

it's nice to read but i can hardly imagine myself writing crack. i'd like to challenge myself tho.

34. What are your thoughts on non-con and dub-con?

if it serves the plot then i don't see why not and since i haven't tried my foot on it i'd also like to challenge myself writing one.

35. Would you ever kill off a canon character?

why not?

'there's no wrong in loving you' - taeyong x jihyo two-shot: noona romance is my kink and casting these two has been one of my best decisions to date.

'of alienated body and soul' - baekhyun x ocs oneshot: baekhyun and anti-hero tendencies is what i fantasize about. can't wait to start working on this one!

38. Talk about a review that made your day.

if we talk about formal review then one i get from Lust for my story I'm A Woman Too (V x OC) because the plot was approved to be good enough and it's one of a few i'm proud of plot-wise!

39. Do you ever get rude reviews and how do you deal with them?

yea lmao especially from ealier years when my writing was just plain garbage.

(if you are a reviewer and you're reading this, please, at least try to sound professional because we don't deserve to be treated like just because our writing as it has nothing to do with ourselves as fellow human beings with an equal dignity as your own)

40. Write an alternative ending to [insert fic title] (or just the summary of one).

though i don't have a specific plan to how this ending would work out, 'we are no gods' (jisung x chenle) where nobody has to die :(
