della's mubank - 9

"Let's dance together until the morning comes."

WEEEEEEE!!! It's been so long. Honestly, I've been wanting to release this for a while, but I've been so busy...but it's out now!

Today on Della's Mubank, I'll be covering Super Junior D&E's song "Saturday Night" from their 2015 Japanese release "Present." It's also on the second disc of the "Star" album released in 2021 with the rest of the group? That's what Spotify told me, at least.

Right off the bat: I think this'll be my summer anthem (alongside some other D&E songs too, hehe ;3). It's a fun, energy-filled dance song that reminds me of sunny coastal city trips with friends.

The lyrics are straightforward and follow the theme. It starts off with repeating synthesized guitar notes (like the start of "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry). Already in that first second, I'm hit with nostalgia. The synth through the verses are simple accents, but as it goes through the pre-chorus and into the chorus, it becomes more apparent, like they're getting more into the party mood, you know?

Through most of the song, the beat is punchy and strong, and I can just feel the cheer and smiles oozing out of Donghae and Eunhyuk's clear voices. I also love the additions of more voices in the bridge-- it really brings that party feeling.

The lyrics are pretty normal party song lyrics. They wanna have a great Saturday night with you, hehwe. There is this one part with peanuts and almonds though. They sing about how you ate some peanuts and almonds then your fingers (probs because they had salt or something?) and they're just like, "That's so hot." It was sort of awkward, but it is what it is I guess.

Overall, except for the peanuts and almonds thing, it's a wonderful energy booster for this summer, perfect for dancing around to let go of all your stresses and problems. Especially on a Saturday night ;3. (I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.)

By the way, something semi-unrelated about 2015 K-Pop... Doesn't it just feel like a turning point in K-Pop? Like, it's moving into the new/different sound it has currently, but not entirely there yet. Same thing when it comes to aesthetics, for me, at least. I dunno. Just a thought. (2015 Eunhyuk is also pretty in a way unlike the rest of the eras...*mumbles and drifts off*...)

Sadly, this song doesn't have an auto-uploaded audio vid or the MV uploaded to the publisher's channel. And as said before, I'd feel immoral uploading someone else's video, so there will not be one for the time being. Apologies.

But, if you do choose to find and listen to it, I hope you enjoy it~! Thank you for reading, and have a lovely day <3.
