della's mubank - 5

"너라고..."

If you're an ELF, there's a pretty good chance you know this song by just looking at those syllables above. If you don't, that's okay! Please, allow me to tell you some things about it.

Today on Della's Mubank, I bring to you the Super Junior song "It's You (너라고)." It was released in 2009 as the title track to the repackage of their album "Sorry, Sorry," and is very different than their big hit!

To be honest, I find this to be one of-- if not the-- most powerful Super Junior songs. It's emotional and deep, with the lyrics full of longing. You can also really feel it in the background music, where they constantly repeat "너라고" in the verses, and each single resounding beat in the back adds more and more depth as the song continues. Since different members start around the same time as that beat, it really marks their introduction and addition to the song. Whether their voice is deep and tender or gentle and light, it works perfectly in tandem to bring things together.

Especially Heechul's part (the bridge)... IMMACULATE.
And, as a Jewel, Eunhyuk's sweet voice brings me so much joy. I think he was the perfect choice to sing in between the chorus and verse/bridge. But that may just be me, hehe!

There's also that short clapping, reminiscent of a fluttering heart, and those three ascending notes... When the bass becomes more defined in the chorus, it makes things sound more desperate, so to speak. It really hammers in the sense that you're truly the only one in their heart.

If I may muse away for a while, I also find this song to be of great importance because of how it could describe SJ's relationship with ELF.

Like, for instance in the first verse:

The moment my eyes began to burn,
the moment my heart was captured by you,
I have no regret, I chose you.
That's right, it's you.

And the chorus:

Whatever anyone says, it doesn't matter to me.
Whoever curses me, I'll only look at you.

Looking over the lyrics again, when I noticed that part of the first verse, I thought of their win with "U" in 2006, when they cried (eyes usually feel like they're burning) and weren't just Super Junior 05 that would rotate in and out, and that they'd stay with ELF to grow for a (hopefully, at the time) long time. I know I'm missing pieces here, but I thought it was interesting they sort of fit like that. I hope they actually do fit.

And that part in the chorus. I think it sort of speaks for itself. From what I've seen, SJ really love their fans.

I'm still a rather young ELF, though, and maybe I'm reading into things too far. Better songs to describe these thoughts might be "So I," "Miracle," or "Marry U." Other ELF, what do you think...?

THE MUSIC VIDEO! I barely talk about the video in these, if I have at all. (I think only once. But that doesn't matter!!!)

It feels like a dream, a dream in which someone says goodbye. The white lights from above and muted hues make it feel unreal, and the cuts between the group all being together then onto them doing separate things has a different, strange sense of unity. Especially when they all meet together in the plaza at the end, hands over their hearts... Adding in the song and the lyrics, I think it shows how their fates are intertwined, and may always be, both with you and with each other.

Sorry if everything I've said's too obvious to everyone else here, I just really love this song so much! But I think that's all I have for now.

Here is the music video. Hope you enjoy~: It's You (너라고)
