❝ hi there! my name is ha ella. it used to be ha chiyoung, but in 2019 i legally changed my name to my former stage name because i think it's pretty and easier to say. my birthday is july 22nd, and i'm currently 23 years old. i'm still fairly new to e-sports, i think almost two years ago was when i began gaming, though i only started taking it seriously this past year. i hope to improve so keep watching me! ❞

_NICKNAMES_
puppy/puppy eyes because of her big and slightly downturned eyes, a lot of fans (from her idol days and even new gaming ones) have said she resembles a puppy. even though she might not be the best player a lot of people speculate that she is forgiven because of the power of the puppy eyes.
meong meong/just meong stemming from the one above, jungkook can also see the resemblance to the cute creature, but instead of calling her something cute he dubs ella 'meong meong' aka the sound dogs make when they bark. though annoyed at first ella does grow fond of this nickname.

_LANGUAGES_
korean a given. because she is a gwacheon girl, she has the seoul/gyeonggi dialect. 
japanese she started leaning in 2015 when her former company made plans to debut in japan, a hopeful attempt to try and garner popularity. despite the flop, she still studied it up until 2018 and is pretty intermediate, being able to hold up in a conversation for the most part.

_APPEARANCE_
my main inspiration for ella is yuju during the love so sweet era. (dark brown hair) the only difference between ella and her faceclaim is that ella has a tattoo on her arm which she received in 2020. it's of her birth flower (the larkspur) and a moon shape. she was so totally not inspired by her crush- honestly! despite the timing ella always wanted a tattoo of her birth flower and it just so happens her love interest has one too. for her nails, ella enjoys keeping them long and rounded, with a fresh coat of color on them. for right now, it's a baby blue with little cloud designs. for makeup, ella tends to stay pretty light and neutral. a semi-shimmery light pink on her lids and a peach or pink on her lips is her go-to combo, add some mascara and a brown liner and ella is ready for her day. 

_STYLE_
honestly, ella doesn't really have a set style. if she had to pick a label, it would be girly. she doesn't shy away from color but tends to favor pastels over anything too bright. even though she dresses in lighter colors for the most part she still has a few black pieces that she gravitates too now and then (especially dresses). skirts are comfortable and always a go-to, but if she does wear pants or jeans ella prefers a loose fit as opposed to skin tight. 80% of her wardrobe is from thrift or vintage shops- the price is always right and there's usually some hidden gems. ella is an avid crocs lover and she adores collecting the little button things and changing them out often. any crocs slander is not accepted in her house!

ha ella, formerly ha chiyoung, was born to an office worker mother and a florist father on a warm july morning. despite money always being an issue, ella is able to look back at her childhood fondly, her parents always tried their best to provide and still have fun. her mother always sang sweet melodies to her before bed and perhaps that was the reason ella took to it so much. being untrained, ella always had an imperfect but still sweet voice and sung all the time when she could. even when ella was fixated on other things, she enjoyed singing and putting on a show for her parents. it wasn't really a shock when at age 13 she asked her parents for permission to audition at various entertainment companies. unknown to the young girl, her parents were fighting a lot about money and honestly didn't want to continue with their marriage, but they kept it a secret and allowed their daughter to follow her dreams. to be honest, ella hadn't dreamt of being a singer from the start, but seeing how praised and loved idols were had encouraged her to go for that same recognition. she tried out for two unknown companies before being accepted into the third- BRIGHT entertainment. and thus the idol arc begins.

BRIGHT was fairly unknown and didn't have too many resources to work off from. despite it all, ella still trained with them for three years. over that particularly rough period of time ella grew more aware of her parent's tension but pretended not to know. there was a light at the end of the tunnel when in 2013, it was announced ella would debut in BRIGHT's first group along with five other girls. in 2014, NOVA GIRLS was born- and also her stage name, ella, was used for the first time. for all of their faults, BRIGHT actually tried really hard with NOVA GIRLS but they just couldn't get the proper attention. a last minute plan to debut in japan in 2015 was never followed through and the group eventually disbanded that same year. also that same year, ella's parents finally divorced. it was rough and awkward and very unpleasant, and because of it all ella had no motivation to look elsewhere for other things to do. she stuck with BRIGHT and got some modeling gigs to get by. in 2017, BRIGHT decided to debut another group, this time a trio including ella who kept her previous stage name. Lockette was met with a moderate amount of attention when they debuted, and it seemed this time around it would be different. they were praised for their elegant concept and talent, and ella started garnering her own fanbase during this time.

and then, there was jeon jungkook. for context, back in 2015 ella had met the singer during a music show. they struck up a friendship and began to speak casually to each other, although over the years they began to grow closer. by 2017, ella had a full-blown crush on the bangtan boy, who seemed quite oblivious to her feelings. ella's crush and subsequent fixation on him grew so big that in 2019 she started looking into gaming as a way to impress him- yeah, she was down bad. to be fair she tried everything, but despite her basically wearing a sign saying "im in love with u" jungkook still called her "bro" in their texts and hadn't asked her out. she knew jungkook spent a lot of his free time gaming, so this seemed like a foolproof plan- become gamer girl babe and marry crush. easy! by this point Lockette had lost the attention they had gotten at debut and were on the brink of disbanding, despite all of BRIGHT's efforts. while her groupmates were on the brink of a breakdown, ella was la-di-daying on league of legends, running around and dying a lot but sending jungkook screenshots just so she can brag about being a gAmEr giRl. to no ones surprise, Lockette disbanded in 2020. ella left BRIGHT surprisingly amicably and ended up living with her father, spending most of her days moping around. always the daddy's girl, her father let her stay with him job-free but only for a year- ella had to find a new life goal eventually.

she started getting more into gaming instead of applying for jobs though, if only because she was still stuck on her plan to impress her crush, but in all honestly it became a good way to pass the time and distract herself from the leftover melancholy of her failed idol career. somehow ella became good, just at the position she always played, but still. when she heard about dream gaming recruiting an all-female team in the chat of a game she was playing, ella couldn't help but realize how perfect it was. a new career opportunity AND a sure-fire way to snag the love of her life? sign her up!

❝ ah, hi- i'm jeon jungkook. my birthday is september 1st and i'm 24 years old. i'm in a lil group called bts, actually i'm the leade- i've just been informed that i'm not actually the leader- anyway, i don't game as much as used to do but i still game a lot, honestly my dream job when i was younger was to be a pro-gamer. it's really cool that meong is joining a team, but, don't tell her i said that. ❞

_NICKNAMES_
bunny boy, annoying , hulk these are the nicknames ella says directly to his face. despite the negative connotations of some of them, jungkook can only look at these fondly and smugly. for example, annoying is met with "but you can't get enough, right?" while hulk is met with "so you're basically calling me hot and strong?"
love of my life, soulmate, baby meanwhile, these are the names ella says mostly in her head and in her journal. though she loves everything about jungkook including his cockiness, she doesn't think she can handle the ego of boost of saying these things to his face. 

_THE BOY_
jungkook's friends tend to fondly say that this is his first life, because the boy is fascinated by almost everything. art, nature, other people- not only is he an admirer of life, but he tries to live it as positively as he can (sometimes failing, but who doesn't?) he's trying to get better at learning from his mistakes, but as he gets older he's sure to improve. with strangers he has a shy disposition, in fact he tends to stay huddled with those he already knows. there's this sort of endearing awkwardness about him when he's interacting with those he doesn't know, an occasional fidget or nervous giggle escaping him. when you grow closer to him you'll see that jungkook is actually a huge goofball with a loud contagious laugh. he loves to joke, prank and play around with others, his playfulness being compared to a puppy. he's definitely the type to send you memes or a funny picture of himself at 1am. one frustrating aspect about him is his smug and cocky attitude- one second he can be endearing and insecure about something, but after you compliment him it's met with "actually i knew all along hehe." just as any other human jungkook still has insecurities so sometimes his remarks are just a front, but still annoying nonetheless.

his competitiveness makes him an amazing idol but is also one of his downfalls, his intensity in any sort of game or competition is so much that losing is a huge blow to him. he can be a sore loser for like five minutes but thankfully jungkook rarely holds grudges. he wears his emotions on his sleeve, his facial expressions or body language being a dead giveaway. however it's usually a mystery as to why he's feeling this way, especially with negative emotions as he tends to keep that information to himself even when he shouldn't. this is especially apparent when he's jealous. jungkook is at his worse when he's jealous, and he'll refuse to say he's even feeling that way, instead just snapping when he's prodded and saying things that he regrets. he'd feel deep guilt and would apologize, and would eventually share what he's been feeling and why, giving it his all to make it up to the person he snapped at (or he grows even more defensive and volitale, it honestly depends on the situation and person). regardless of it all, jungkook is a loyal friend and a good person at heart.

_THE STORY_
as mentioned previously, ella and jungkook have been friends for years. ella has been "secretly but still obviously" pining over him since 2017, and jungkook is none the wiser- at least at first. he did find it kinda suspect that ella got an interest in gaming seemingly out of nowhere, but he didn't think much of it, upgrading his meme messages to include gaming ones whereas ella would google what it even means before sending an LOL. it was around 2019 after talking with one of his friends about her when he realizes that she has feelings for him and suddenly it all makes sense- that time they hung out at han river and she snuggled up to him whining about being cold, she wanted cuddles or his jacket- jungkook just dumbly stated "sorry i can't control the weather" while munching on his tteokbokki. the time she sent him a selfie where ella was blowing a kiss and literally asked him "do i look cute?" and jungkook just replied with ㅋㅋ- all of these memories and more came back to him and it was like a lightbulb went off in his mind. however, jungkook didn't have any of these feelings for her. he loves her as a friend, he enjoys being around her and he likes that he can go to her for advice and vice versa. to be honest, he didn't wan't to mess up what they already have. plus, the thought of hurting ella is simply too painful. so he continues to play dumb about her feelings, even to the point where he feels really bad because there are times when it's painfully obvious how much ella is into him that jungkook can't help but to wonder if he should rip the bandaid off. but alas, he still sends her a text along the lines of "ur crocs r ugly" and continues the facade.

_THE CATALYST?_
after joining the dream girls, ella slowly becomes fixated on gaming instead- the closer she gets to her team and their company, the more fun they have practicing together and celebrating their wins, equals the more often ella is cancelling plans or leaving calls and texts unanswered. it feels surreal to jungkook- his days usually contain ella at some point, he was so used to her presence even digitally and now she's gone? at first he tries to convince himself he's not bothered by it, in fact it's kind of a good thing- maybe with some space ella will lose her feelings for him. but as the weeks go by, suddenly the thought of ella losing her feelings for him becomes more and more undesirable to jungkook.
