name: nam dajung 남다정
myogwi 묘귀, the name she goes by on the island. it's from the legend of the cat-ghosts. nari gave it to her, because she looks like a cat and acts like a ghost. anyone who cares can easily find out what her government name is by asking around (bc mg just smiles when asked); though, everyone who does know only ever call her myogwi.

island spirit, also known as the patron saint, island guardian, and many more wacky nicknames. because she has a mysterious background, speaks in few or no words, and she moves without a sound, the residents and guests have come to call her the spirit of the island.

myo, a shorter form of her name. for anyone who's too lazy (taehyung) to say myogwi fully.

one thing about myogwi: she will end up in the most random places.

ever since her growing days, she's found (or lost) herself in places and situations she was not trying to be in. even with all of her foster parents keeping her on a leash, her impromptu adventures never stopped. she has gone missing 12 times from ages 5 - 10, which is probably twelve times more than the average amount one goes missing in their lifetime.

the last time she's ever gone missing as a kid is the day she met the couple who would become her adoptive parents. she, 10 years old, had been distracted by a beautiful, giant moth. it looked unreal -- she wanted to find out if it was fake so she chased it around town. she would wind up in another part of the city

in her last year of high school, dajung is making her trek home from school when she sees an ad for a fried chicken eating competition for a national chain restaurant. she decides to enter the lottery to be chosen for the contest, egged on by the prospect of free food.

to her surprise, her number is selected. to the surprise of the audience, she dominates the competition. this is the start of her short-lived career in food eating competitions.

dajung wins a sailboat in a sushi eating competition. although she has no experience in sailing, she decides to try it out. she wasn't supposed to go very far, but rising sea levels and inexperience meant she would become lost far at sea. she survived on the many fruits, nuts, and fresh water she prepared beforehand.

a too rocky wave knocks her off her boat and next thing she knows, she's waking up in a makeshift hospital room. she was concussed at the beginning, not even remembering her own name -- which was fortunately provided to her by the doctor and casual fan of her, kim seokjin.

lifestyle

myogwi has always been a person of few words. not neccessarily mute, but most people treat her as such. she's not good at articulating longer sentences, so she opts for choppy sentences, scarce responses, and gestures to get her point across. it doesn't help, however, because she's not good at any of that either.

myogwi doesn't know which city she was actually born in, as she didn't actually have a birth certificate until she was 10 years old and she's been moved around the daegu-gyeongbuk area. she claims daegu because it's the city she was adopted in.

myogwi's won thirteen eating competitions around skr and japan in just three years. due to her many wins, she is called "DAEGU PENGUIN" in the big eater community. she and everyone else have no idea why the animal chosen for her was penguin.

MIN NARI

the one who found myogwi passed out on the beach. the two don't interact too much, but myo appreciates nari checking in on her almost everyday. she wonders if nari does it bc she found mg half-dead (maybe?) on the beach or if she checks up with everyone. whatever it is, she likes it, and she inaudibly lets nari know if she needs help with her duties, mg is her girl.

JEON JUNGKOOK

myo and jk are more than awkward with each other. well, it's not awkward for myo, but jk feels supremely self-conscious around her. he hates when he tries to make conversation and she just stares at him, yet not at him, almost right through him -- like she can see into his soul and pinpoint all his insecurities. he always feels like he should just blurt out everything he's worried about and his whole life story when she stares at him, which is why he's taken to essentially running away by making up outlandish excuses about why he needs to leave at that moment whenever myogwi randomly appears. myo has no real opinion on him; however, she's silently cheering him on to be a good mayor.

KIM NAMJOON

myogwi is the most active in donating bugs to the museum and the most active in visiting said bugs in the museum, so namjoon bumps shoulders with her quite often. he doesn't understand her obsession with bugs, but he greatly admires her knowledge and love. namjoon has successfully gotten through full on conversations with her by making the topic about a bug or other animal.

KIM SEOKJIN

when myogwi was an amnesiac patient, seokjin is who she saw the most. she thinks highly of him, and feels very indebted to him, which is why she's taken it upon herself to help him out with clinic duties whenever she isn't feeling too lethargic to do anything. she's not very good at being a nurse and conservations are often one-sided, but seokjin appreciates the help (even if he doesn't really need it).

seokjin, who is a fan of mukbang creators and big eaters, immediately knew who she was when she was brought to his clinic. one of the first things seokjin said to her when she woke up was, "can i get your autograph?" the framed paper is hanging in the waiting room of the clinic, beside a framed selfie of seokjin.

MIN YOONGI

nice to meet you! i'm min nari... island rep, apparently... she trails off, obviously disgruntled, but she regains her compsure quickly, smiling cutely. she extends her hand out for a handshake. nice to meet you! dajung nods, opting for a lethargic wave instead of a handshake. she already gave nari all her personal information a few days before.

nari smiles charmingly, nodding. cool, cool! so how did you find out about our island? dajung shrugs, expression impassive. it was here when i woke up, is what she says in her head, but nothing comes out other than a dry sigh. she shrugs again, for an extra measure.

dajung wonders if she should be more worried about ending up on a random island with people she doesn't know. her mom used to joke that she has no sense of self-perservation; it might not have been a joke.

oh well, she shrugs one last time.

the girl makes sure to jot down your answer, only because she had to, probably for advertisement purposes. ...okay! is there a particular reason you've decided to stay? nari makes sure to listen carefully, taking care of her reactions to avoid offending you. i'm hungry, dajung drawls out while patting her stomach. she believes the older girl will understand that she stayed because they offered her food so she chooses not to elaborate further.

nari nods in understanding. i totally get you. now, do you think you're prepared for surviving in the absolute wilderness until we can get you fully settled? we'll have houses, don't worry! just... not immediately. nari smiles sheepishly. dajung nods, and gives a quick thumbs up. the sand is pretty comfy, so she doesn't mind.

the gray haired girl looks at you thoughtfully, enough to make someone uncomfortable. okay, cool, cool. what are you expecting while living here? (could literally be anything that comes to mind)

ahh, that's totally understandable! finally, what are you expecting of us? (idk what are you expecting kook and nari to do to make your lives easier here)

kay, now smile! nari smiles and whips out a camera seemingly out of nowhere. 3... 2... 1... cheese! it's for your passport!

bye now! nari grins cutely, waving goodbye.
