background:

since she was a child, Violet has always been craving freedom. growing up, Violet's family was very secretive towards her. her family is a family that is similiar to mafia. they call themself the Zen Group. her family were wealthy because all of the illegal deeds they do. of course, Violet was not aware of this when she was raised there. she had her parents who were genuinely care about her. but behind the walls, Violet had overheard them fighting over and over again, hearing her mother wanting to get out of the family because of the dirty works the Zen Group did. she also had her younger brother, Aron, who was the only person she could talk about everything with. 

she was home-schooled, and her family doesn't let her go to the outside world that much, because the rivals to Zen Groups would hunt her down. when she does go outside, she used to be companied with  body guards. naturally, she became curious to everything. she has nothing to entertain her, so books were all she had. therefore, she started feeding knowledge by herself in the age of 7, with her family's extensive reading collection. she picked up many interests in various fields of knowledge, such as engineering, arts, geology and many more. this newly equiped knowledge of her only motivates her to seek more and more. Violet had so many questions when she was still a child, such as why she's home-schooled, why she can't go outside and so much more. 

she adapted creative mindsets through the books she read, which she quickly applied. she started out training her creativity in her attempts to escape from her house with tactical plans, which large amount of them failed. she also used to brought alone Aron, though at the end Aron refused to go because he didn't want to break rules. after then, she found way to transfer her creative mindset to arts. she is particularly very fond of drawing maps and sceneries of places, because when she was trapped in Zen family's house, she couldn't go anywhere and maps and potraits of sceneries was how she can see the outside world. she also puts her creativity in combat, which enhanced her learning in martial arts. after seeing her developing combat skills, her grandfather encouraged her to learn martial arts, starting with Indonesian martial arts, which she would master later on. 

when she turned 9, Zen Family's house were raided by Zen Group's rivals. she was knocked off and when she woke up, she was already in The Battle Ground. The Battle Ground is training grounds for martial skills in advance, located in Komodo Island, Indonesia. beside her, there were a lot of kids around her age, majority of them were also taken away from their families as well. as she was (forcedly) following the program, Violet found that this group is training young talents to be sold to HYDRA. Violet who discovered this fact tried to run away, only to get caught and was thrown in isolation. she was trained even more harder then. this group also has ceremony to give the training students Super Serum when they turned of age, but Violet did not get one because at age 17, The Battle Ground was discovered by S.H.I.E.L.D. the innocent trainees were saved. S.H.I.E.L.D was supposed to send back the children to their respective families, turned out Violet's family disappeared from the records. the only records they have is that her father and mother were brutally murdered by HYDRA after leaking an information about them to S.H.I.E.L.D. they visited the Zen family house where she used to live in. she also picked up a pearl knife from her mother's nightstand, a knife which Violet holds dearly to her heart now. 

knowing Violet has nowhere to go, Agent Melinda May from S.H.I.E.L.D recommended her to go to S.H.I.E.L.D Acadamy of Operations, so later on she can join S.H.I.E.L.D as an agent. after graduating, she immediately joined S.H.I.E.L.D, one of of the youngest recruits. she also made friends with Ray Angelino, a newly recruited S.H.I.E.L.D lab engineer. she officially served under S.H.I.E.L.D, running on missions starting in 2010. in 2012, she was ordered to join the Helicarrier mission in New York, under the orders of Agent Maria Hill and Director Fury. after that, she continued doing other missions, such as infiltrating secretive and questionable groups, undercover missions in another intellegent agencies, and many others. along the way, she gained many friends who finally she can trust on. later on, after new intels and information updated to the S.H.I.E.L.D system, she finally discover her family history and learned about Zen Group, and how they have indirectly supporting HYDRA. there was time where she wanted to go by herself and search for any alive Zen Group, but she was hold back by other missions. eventually, she decided to forget them.

after the HYDRA Uprising (CA:TWS), she quitted S.H.I.E.L.D and stayed with Angelino back in his hometown Guam. She was traumatic of being betrayed by her friends who turned out to be HYDRA. Because of this, she has committal issues in working as a team. as to why she left Angelino with his family back in a safe house S.H.I.E.L.D left for them in Guam. this was also the same time she found the information of her grandfather was murdered in an auction bid of items left by HYDRA. after checking the CCTV, she confirmed the man was Helmut Zemo. even though she doesn't really have much good memories with her grandfather, he was the only family she knew at the time. she greatly loathed Zemo for taking the only person she related with, the only family member she knew at the moment.

after then, she moved quite a lot, finding Zemo and her brother. but eventually, she settled in one of safe houses given by S.H.I.E.L.D in Berlin. this doesn't mean she has forgotten about Zemo, deep inside her she know that revenge is never the answer but she still has the urge to avange him every time she remembers him. she decided to stay low as she works as freelancer digital artist, whilst finding more information about her brother. when she heard emergencies of help around the world, she would help out fighting the crime, under the name Sharpearl.

current day:

after the blip, she helped her best protecting her neighborhood in Berlin. until one day, she saw her brother's name, Aron Zen, on news, as a Flag Smasher. though his face was matured, Violet can recognize him, it's her brother. Violet decided to track along The Flag Smasher. she eventually tried to infiltrate the group, but she was taken aback when she learned she has to take Super Serum. before they could get to her, Violet went for searching her brother, to convince him. but Violet's time ran out and she disappeared before she could get the Super Serum. she tried to tattle the group, and that's where she met Sam (again) and Bucky for the first time. Violet immediately remember his face, though it took a long time for Sam to recognize her. "Giggles?" he asked. they took a long time catching up, with Sam jokingly betrayed that her real name wasn't Jessica.

when she heard Sam (and Bucky) was finding Zemo, she joined them. well, at least she followed them around, before eventually getting caught by Sam. she have some plans to avenge on him, though she still have a dilemma whether it's worth it or no. she also go along with their plan to talk with Karli, so she can talk to her brother in The Flag Smashers.

misc.:
- she has wide range of knowledge. so she might knew something related to every topic, even if it is a little bit random.
- her interest changed from time to time. for example, today she's very interested in how gold are made, the next day she could be interested in learning constellations.
- she knows almost every legendary cases, sometimes might even fangirl about it
- she is a human compass. she remembers every places she goes and good with direction.
- she used to redraw the floorplans of Zen's family house and The Battle Ground facility so much that she can easily recall them into her head even until now.
- she usually redraws maps to calm herself down
- because of her childhood being trapped in a house, she dreamed about being a traveller a lot. she might even consider being a traveller after she's done with all the superhero/secret intel stuff
- she has S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Clearance Level 7 (or used to). which allows her to access S.H.I.E.L.D library, missions, base points and many more. her safe house in Berlin has a bunker full of weapons.
- she can drives car, trucks, and motorcyles. she has flown a jet once in a mission, but that was under assistance from the pilot who was injured badly that she needed to take over. she has always wanted to try to operate a train or a boat, though she has never officially received any lessons. she did have learned it from internet, though.

the snap: yes.

details: when the snap happened, Violet was in the middle of catching a thief in a neighborhood she lived in Berlin. when she was blipped, she was at a top at the roof, the place she was snapped. she continued chasing back, though she was also confused what just happened. then she realized, the streets became so full because of the people blipped. there was a couple of sudden traffic accidents on the streets, and Violet immediately went back to her safe house.

process: violet wasn't born with any powers. she was trained manually to be a field agent (The Battle Ground & S.H.I.E.L.D Academy of Operations)

- master marksman (during her time as an agent, she used to be a truted marksman from wide distance with her sharp eye)
- tactical expert (in a lot of situations where there are no directors who give orders, violet is trusted in making plans)
- expert cartographer (thanks to her art skills. this helps her in making tactical plans)
- perfect pictorial/visual memory (developed due to her art skills. this also helps her in tactical planning, and finding clues of a case. she also able to remember people's faces after seeing them one time.)
- extensive knowlegde (can be used in finding clues for cases)
- excellent combat (she is trained to be a combat, as an operative agent)
- expert martialism (she mostly uses mixed martial arts of Indonesian. specially Pencak Silat and Tarung Derajat. she knows a bit of other martial arts, namely Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Muay Thai, and Boxing.)
- master in weapons (guns, knives, swords, etc)

- computer science (in one of her missions, she infilterated a cyber security hackers group, pushing her to learn about computer science. she can put up a secure cyber security, hacking, and program.)

 

violet uses both weapons and her body to combat. she is especially combatant with her pearl knife. she uses mixed martial arts. violet has creative approach in her combat, she is rather laid-back, calm in her attacks. she has sharp and effective sense in attacking a certain point that can weaken her enemy. silent in her punches, light on her feet, and has fast reflexes, fast enough to fool her enemy. melinda may described her combat style is "elegantly sneaky".

- pair of guns with exceptional mechanism only violet knows how it works, paired with special bullets made out of glass, resembling pearls. these two are developed by her and Angelino. this is what made her name Sharpearl.
- she has access to weapons by S.H.I.E.L.D during her time as an agent, which now is stored in the bunker room under her safe house in Berlin.

identity: Violet Zen is known to public intelligent/federal agencies (Interpol, CIA, etc) as former S.H.I.E.L.D agent. her Sharpearl identy is a secret identity, event to intelligent agencies.

motivation: her main motivation was that she wants to help make the world a better place with the skillset she has. but she still wants freedom as Violet Zen, hence why she keep her identity secret.

her motivation of going with Sam & Bucky is killing two birds with a stone: 1. avenge on zemo**; 2. reunite with her brother who is now a flag smasher
