APPEARANCE sophia has been blessed with a tall and slender frame, as well as skin that turns into a lovely shade of light copper during the warmer weather. her dark hair, originally a long elegant length to the middle of her back, has recently been chopped to a silky bob just above her shoulders over the summer because she was tired of maintaining it and all of its length. sophia is known for her dark, fox-like eyes that seem to be menacing but nevertheless display a warm glow to those around her, especially with those she is close with. she has two piercings on each ear - one on the earlobe and one on the cartilage - and wears a row of rings on her index, ring and thumb on each hand.
STYLE while most of her clothes are from thrift stores, sophia manages to find elegant secondhand clothes that make her look classy and timeless. think a mix of light and dark academia with a feminine classy spin and an adding of accessories. a big lover of gold jewelry and shimmery makeup so that is her touch to the collared shirts, dark and light turtlenecks, creme/brown sweaters, dark pleated skirts, doc martins, tall heeled boots, high waisted dark jeans and dark hats she typically wears.

sophia is an individual who around strangers keeps to herself, an introvert at heart. her beauty and piercing stares from her impossibly dark eyes that often intimidate other people who meet her for the first time. but once you have the opportunity to get to know her and truly see her personality you realize she is anything but the fierce fox she looks like. she is a caretaker, a mother bear. she thrives off making sure the people in her life have everything they need and will definitely be the type of person who shares her items on a trip if someone else forgot or have your favorite snacks and drinks memorized by heart when she stops by the store to get little treats for you when you are having a bad day. she is very gentle, considerate of those around her and very selfess. she rarely complains and would never imagine hurting a fly without feeling terrible immediately after. she is the friend who will cry with you during the emotional movies, the friend who will compliment you on a day you feel sad and genuinely mean it and the friend who will risk everything for you. however just like any other human sophia is not without her faults. sophia often is forgetful to take care of herself, spending so much time investing in others, that is she often left unsatisfied with people's love towards her. she is full of high expectations only to be disappointed because not everyone functions and gives at the level she does. she also is very self-critical towards herself, blaming who she is and assuming she must've done something wrong to recieve neglection. because she is very much a peacemaker sophia is terrible with personal confrontation. she can be meek and shy often these moments often doubting herself and her entire existence though she is trying to learn the importance of these uncomfortable situations and fighting for your side of the story as well as clearing up misunderstandings. sophia can also be very awkward even if she looks poised and collected and when she is her face pinks and she feels like she looks stupid - even though her friends and boyfriend say she looks cute.
LIFESTYLE sophia was born in san jose, california to parents that were not even married. she was a surprise and because her family was anything but wealthy, her upbringing was condensed with stress and a lot of yelling. by the time jacob was born the concept of even attempting that 'picture-perfect' happy family was thrown out of the window entirely. sophia and jacob both stayed away from home as much as possible, using sports and clubs to stay out all day until they came home late and their parents were asleep. thrifting became a common love for sophia because fast fashion was not always affordable. her mother overworked herself while her father wasted it on gambling. it was an unhealthy combo and if it wasn't for the miracle of scholarships and her good grades in her required schooling, sophia would probably still be stuck in that environment.
as for her college schedule sophia is fortunate enough to not have to wake earlier than nine most of the week. she doesn't eat breakfast often because she does not get hungry until noon, so she usually just grabs an apple on the way out to class in her apartment. she tries to have lunch with matthew at least twice a week and get dinner with jacob at least twice a month. you will usually see her in between classes in the library or if it is warmer outside, sitting on a sunny patio eating food with her scribbles and notes out. she works on friday and saturday but gets off in the evening so she will probably still be open to going out with others.

probably where the doting and mothering all started. unlike the turbulent relationship that she has with her fustrating parents sophia is very close to her little brother. the two are only a year and a half apart so often sophia feels more like his twin sister. the park siblings are very similar - they share the same fierce dark eyes yet warm persona when you get to know them, the same doting nature to those they care for and the same love for music. the only difference between the two is as the younger sibling, jacob is more playful and mischevious. jacob started at uc hollywood a year after sophia as a music major after learning of the wonderful music courses and opportunities it provided, especially from his older sister. most are surprised the two siblings were able to attend the same college and even have dinner together every other week but that is just their relationship. jacob and sophia have always been on good terms - relying on each other when their homelife was rough which, unfortunately, happened often. sophia was often the surrogate mother for jacob's games and festivals because their parents checked out often. in turn jacob was the biggest support of sophia's extracurriculars and defended her from anyone that attempted to badmouth his big sister.

olivia was the only person sophia really kept in contact with back in san jose. the two met in high school after joining band and were really stuck at the hip ever since. unlike sophia olivia is bold, ambitious, loud. she is quite a character that can be a lot for new people although nothing is more incredible than her fierce loyalty. though they were close with many of the band members, olivia was the only one who actually knew sophia's struggles and her hard homelife and was there for her and jacob when they needed to stay at a place for the night. olivia currently attends san jose state university as an communications and acting double major with a busy schedule of an active individual however she always makes time for sophia when needed and the two girls have a healthy distance friendship. if sophia ever goes back to san jose it is to visit olivia and vice versa. olivia is her family and it has been proven by time and time again that the two always have each other.

matthew kim aka her boyfriend
sophia has never been in love before. she was very independant in college for the first year and by the time she finished her fall term of her second year sophia thought she would be solo for the rest of her college life. but that was before she met matthew, her little brother's big at the neo city fraternity he joined his first year when he started college. at first sophia was apprehensive. fraternities and sororities have a reputation with heavy partying/drinking and she doesn't want jacob to go through hazing in order to join this band of brothers. because of this she asked to meet matthew after learning he was the mentor for her little brother. however just after one lunch with the older boy, who was a grade above her, made her smitten with him. matthew may give off the typical frat boy vibes but in reality he was very kind and good-hearted as he assured the worried older sister of their good intentions. turns out matthew was just as enchanted with her upon their first meeting so it did not take long for them to start dating. now he has been her longest relationship running at eight months and completely has her heart in his hands. matthew shares sophia's love for music and as a music composition major who heard of junkband through colleagues and banners, he decided to share the information with sophia and encourage her to try out as he has always wanted to see her in action as an official musician and see some of her written songs be published/used officially.

poppy kang aka her newest unconfirmed child
though the two are in the same grade, their contrasting majors led them to never cross except for one ge course freshman year. normally sophia would never have gone up to her but after being paired for a project it was quick to see that poppy had a personality sophia felt really comfortable around. she was pure and kind and while the two did not keep in contact they only wished each other good things down the road. so when it was discovered that junkband was started by poppy, sophia grew delighted at the chance to bond more with the sweet girl if she got in. she was ready to dote on the older girl in a motherly way and could not wait to see what their bond would become the road. hopefully the loving, beautiful friendship sophia has wanted since she last spoke to poppy.

WELCOME TO THE PRE-AUDITION INTERVIEW!
"hi! my name's poppy kang, we spoke over the phone! let's jump right in— why'd you wanna join the band?"
an interview before an audition was definitely not something sophia was prepared for. she even shifted awkwardly in the plastic chair, almost debating on opting out and thinking this might be a mistake. however poppy gave her an encouraging smile, the same smile sophia saw when they were working on their project together two years ago and stressing out, and sophia relaxes a little. 'that's right.' she reminded herself. 'this is poppy. you know this girl. if you want anyone judging your preformance it is her.' she took a small breath and sat up, trying to look more confident. "since i started college, i really haven't been able to preform since i was in high school, except in my bedroom. i have never been in a official band before so i thought this would fun to try so I thought, at least I should audition."
"awesome! that's super cool, what instruments do you play? do you sing at all?"
"I play the piano, flute and the drums." sophia was not surprised by the eyebrow raise of poppy when she heard the last instrument. she was used to people being surprised she plays the drums, probably because the concept is so different from her gentle, kinda elegant stature. "it has been awhile since I played the flute and the drums but I have a small piano I found at a thrift store downtown that I play often. I sing a little but I am not sure if it is good enough for backing vocals." she chuckled lightly, earning a bright smile from the interviewer."wow! do you have any plans to write songs or lyrics, or produce songs for the band?"
already sophia got excited, a warmer glow in her eyes than usual. she willed herself to stay cool though, not wanting to overwhelm poppy. "I would love to! I have written some songs and lyrics on my own in my journal that maybe I can share with the band on day but it honestly is if anyone wants to hear them.""I'm sure they will." poppy's warm words made sophia heart softened as she suddenly resisted the desire to wrap the girl in a warm hug.
"okay, great, nice... um... do... you have plans to hang out with the band after practices or..." poppy seems visibly nervous. "i mean, it's fine if you're busy! just wondering..." she lets out an awkward laugh.
"isn't that what all bands do in general?" sophia looked surprised upon hearing that hanging out was an option and not a requirement for team bonding."sorry I am very new in this environment but I am always open to hang out." she felt a tad embarrased that she didn't know but seeing poppy look happy, eyes shining, at her response sophia felt a little better. maybe that was the right answer after all."o-oh, okay! um... anyway, uh... are you okay with, like, the group experimenting with genres and music and stuff? this is the last question, so..."
sophia softly smiled. poppy's consideration never failed to amaze her. It was incredibly touching. "I am totally open to that! I may have to take a moment to adjust but I am willing to work hard to bring something new, and possibly fresh. I am willing to write songs for every concept." [optional] "okay! cool, nice, um... we'll be in touch! i'll let you know how it goes... see you at auditions!"
"I will be there. Wish me luck!" sophia ended up adding, awkwardly holding up her hands in a cheer. poppy mirrored her actions with a laugh and sophia left the room, almost forgetting the nerves about the audition. almost. gem • seven out of ten

I literally am terrible with interview writing oof but I tried my best to make it seem like sophia but if it doesn't sound like her that much I am so sorry and I can totally make updates sophia is mentioned to playing drums in the interview and background but I am mainly submitting her application for lyricist - just an acknowledgement hehe I created sophia with the image that she could be the official mother of the band and maybe, bring light and love to some members who have felt neglected in their lives. also giving sophia a chance to be apart of team will maybe help her realize that even if people disappoint your personal expectations it does not mean they don't care. hope you like her <3
