🌸 meiqi LOVES interacting with people, it has been the one thing that has been consistent in both her life and personality. She cant stand being alone for a prolonged period of time. She’ll talk anyone’s ear of given the chance

🌸 most of her impulsiveness tracks back to her restlessness. It’s the thing that drives her to do something every waking minute. She feels like she might combust if she stays still for too long. This happen mostly because of how bored she gets when things get monotonous enough for her to develop an irrational hatred towards an activity she used to love

🌸 as far as meiqi is concerned nothing is set in stone. She lives by the philosophy of jack of all trades master of none, better than a master of one. That is to say that decision-making is not her strong suit, so she lives her life drifting from one thing to another following whatever she’s passionate about at the moment. And that’s why she jumps from one part-time to another

🌸 being the center of attention has always been meiqi’s place. She thrives when people give her any sort of attention. So naturally while preforming any skill she usually makes sure that someone is watching her. Not only is this applicable to her skills, she also like showing off her possessions and sense of fashion

🌸 she is a material girl. Owning things makes her happy. She heard people say she’s a shopaholic, but she feels like she hasn’t hit her peak yet for that. She grew up with nothing so when got a taste she couldn’t get enough

🌸 attention? what’s that? Meiqi doesn’t know her. Although a more accurate description of what meiqi suffers from is fixations on only the things that interest her and disregarding everything else. With that being said this trait of meiqi sometimes frustrates people or friends as it makes them think she’s forgotten about them. For example, the girl she befriended in her gourmet cooking classes took it personally when meiqi dropped the class and almost forgot about her. Meiqi does not mean to make her friends feel this way, its just that when she hasn’t seen someone in a while, they fade form her memory and she only remembers them when she sees them again

🌸 meiqi is not scared to take chances, in fact the more risky the thing is the more enticed she is by it. You could say that risk is basically her middle name, so you can imagine how careless meiqi is to her own wellbeing. This trait of her was heightened as a child. From climbing trees to cycling as fast as she can downhill to taking any dare thrown her way, meiqi has gathered enough bruises and scars to last a lifetime

🌸 she has always had a can do attitude. Many would mistake this for naivety but she takes on this trait intentionally. She hates not being in control of her own emotion so she purposefully manifests this persona for herself to control it more. This need to control her emotions stems from how miserable rouhan seems to her

🌸 meiqi has a way to make you feel like ever word you say is important. She makes people feel like they became her instant friend. That makes is easier for her when she want something from them. She knows what to say and how to act for individual people to get exactly what she wants from them

🌸 meiqi loves child-associated things. Toys, cartoon, arts and craft you name it. Again, this ties back to her not having much growing up, so she gravitates towards things she didn’t experience as a kid. She finds comfort in them. Though unconsciously, she picked up the habit of acting as immature as the target audience for said comfort

meiqi spent the first 11 years of her life in an orphanage in beijing, china with her twin brother, until they were adopted by a Korean heiress and changed the trajectory of their lives. meiqi doesn’t remember much of her time in the orphanage, and that was mostly because almost everyday there was the same. jookyoung, their new mother, had only adopted them to continue the bloodline so to speak without marring and conniving biological children to get her own parents out of her back. meiqi was grateful either way.

meiqi adjusted to her new rich life pretty well. more that well if she’s honest. the aristocratic life fit her like a glove. new and exciting games, designer clothes, fancy restaurants and a whole bunch of activities to try out. she felt like her life started when she was adopted.

her mother insisted on them focusing on their early education when they got there, but meiqi struggled with learning in the beginning and hated the sight of books, however that all changed when she was diagnosed with ADHD but the family psychiatrist and got put on the appropriate medication. and with the regular therapist sessions she learned how to properly cope and deal with it. this opened up the world to her in a very exciting way. she could finally accomplish the tasks that she sets for herself. no more randomly zoning out and sudden bursts of energy she can’t explain.

she started enjoying learning new skills, especially hands on skills. and the touters had a field day with that. expanding her curriculum with languages and practical skills. with that, her mother felt that both siblings were adjusted enough to venture out into extracurriculars.

this is where meiqi shined. from agricultural clubs to scouts, figure skating to pottery. the world seemed like it had endless possibilities to her. she enjoyed every aspect of it like socializing with the other kids, leaning new things and experiencing life as she likes to put it.

it all came crashing down on her when she started high school. her mother had explicitly stated the end of her extracurricular career, and the start of her arduous academic endeavor. meiqi describes this as her lowest point of her life. she groveled to her mom to no avail, begging and crying. but it was no use. the older women was firm in her decision, after all grades will help her in the future right?

despite her turbulent start, high school wasn’t as bad as her dramatized brain had told her. she actually enjoyed it, and to her mother disappointment it wasn’t academics that she enjoyed but rather the social aspect of it. she made tons of new friends and acquaintances and through them learned the existents of high school CLUBS!

she joined as many clubs as her school will let her. amongst them, the cooking club was her favorite. meiqi has discovered a passion for baking specifically. she loved the customable nature of it. learning new things to bake was the highlight of her high school days.

with graduating high school came the impending doom of the future. all her friends had planned what they were going to do with their lives. meiqi never really pondered what to do though, she immediately enrolled in the nearest university closest to home to satisfy her mom, however, that still didn’t satisfy the daughter at all. she felt restless and bored since her uni didn’t offer the entertainment she expected. sure they had clubs and such, but the actives provide were very limited and gatherings were almost non-existent. bored out of her mind, meiqi got a call from the scouts camp she attended as a child wanting alumni campers to work as camp counselors. meiqi jumped on the opportunity faster than lightning. i mean who wouldn’t want to go to the woods? not meiqi that’s for sure. after that meiqi spiraled into the world of part-time jobs and volunteering.

at a point meiqi mastered all the viable opportunities available in busan and back came the feeling of restlessness. she stopped seeking out jobs, took a semester break and started spending more time at home. coincidentally, that was also the time that her brother quit his job. she was honestly impressed, she didn’t think he had the guts to detour from their mother’s plan for him. rohan, for the first time in her life, became a figure of interest. she stated noticing how miserable he looked, more than his usual miserableness, with mother dearest nagging the hell out of him to figure out what he wants to do with his life. she felt bad for the poor sod. and then one day, one of her followers DMed her a promotional poster of a newly mysterious island that was looking for inhabitants ‘this seems like your type of thing lol, if you decide to go vlog it for us’ the person wrote. meiqi, upon seeing the cutest poster ever, decided then and there that she’d go. that’s when the brilliant idea of dragging rohan along entered her mind. and off she went to tell him. she thought it was going to be an instant ‘no’, so when her brother agreed she was about to argue her case. his answer shocked her to the core, her rational thinking, always has a plan brother was willing to go with a whim of hers? she could see he had his doubts so she went into executing mode quickly. what elevated her amazement was when he said ‘let’s go without mom knowing.’ he was intering his rebellious phase and meiqi was ing living for it. at this point she just had to get to know this new and improved rohan. although, meiqi didn’t have the heart to worry her mom and leave without her knowing, so she secretly left a letter telling her where they’ll be going and ‘don’t worry <3.’ and thus the two twins imbarked on a new journey into the unknown.

nice to meet you! i'm min nari... island rep, apparently... she trails off, obviously disgruntled, but she regains her compsure quickly, smiling cutely. she extends her hand out for a handshake. nice to meet you!

once meiqi's eyes land on min nari, they widen in excitement and she shouts, "NANAAA!!" as she rushes towards the older and engulfs her in a squishing hug. "i haven't seen you since high school! where have you been? i can't believe i let Jungkook steal you away from me!" she lets go and starts, "oh. my. god. i have a lot to catch you up on..." and the conversation went on for a while, while the two exchanged updates.

nari smiles charmingly, nodding. cool, cool! so how did you find out about our island?

she pondered for a while then hummed, "honestly? i can't remember. all i remember is that i was at a job talking to someone i think? i either saw it or heard about it." leaving nari looking at her questioningly but not expecting anything less from the other.

the girl makes sure to jot down your answer, only because she had to, probably for advertisement purposes. i see! is there a particular reason you've decided to get away from society? nari makes sure to listen carefully, taking care of her reactions to avoid offending you.

she sighs and she sits and crosses her legs nonchalantly, "okay, so first of all, there's my mom. you know her and how overbearing she gets. and she doubled that after i took a semester break..... that turned into a year break." she goes on a tangent from there about how she still hasn't found herself and what she wants to do in life. after the segment ended, she sat up straight with a serious look in her face, which alerted nari as that's unlike meiqi at all. "to be honest, this is more for my brother than me. you remember him, right? short, grumpy, you get it. so, his whole life he's been stressed and oh, get this! for the first time in his life, HE REBELLED! I'm so proud of him. but anyways, i thought this would be his only opportunity to relax and let go for once."

nari nods in understanding. i totally get you. now, do you think you're prepared for surviving in the absolute wilderness until we can get you fully settled? we'll have houses, don't worry! just... not immediately. nari smiles sheepishly.

meiqi bats the air, "pfft, me worried? please, i was a girl scout since i was born." exaggerating on a tiny bit. "i even worked as a scout leader for a couple of summers, so i'm all set! <3"

the gray haired girl looks at you thoughtfully, enough to make someone uncomfortable. okay, cool, cool. what are you expecting while living here?
"i'll tell you what i'm expecting, i'm expecting to have the time of my ing life here. so nari, no pressure boo" she smiles sickly sweet at her friend.

ahh, that's totally understandable! finally, what are you expecting of us?

"you? gear up your events cause i'm expecting nothing shy from perfect from you. as for kook, he can just stand and look pretty."

kay, now smile! nari smiles and whips out a camera seemingly out of nowhere. 3... 2... 1... cheese! it's for your passport!

the moment meiqi sees a camera directed towards her, she immediately poses perfectly, almost expecting nari's move.

bye now! nari grins cutely, waving goodbye.

meiqi gets up to give nari one last suffocating hug, "now don't you dare go mia on me again, you hear me?" she lets go, winks, then leaves, leaving nari all exasperated from the interview that lasted an hour more than it should've.
