if son raum were to become a character in a tv drama, she'd be potrayed as someone who can provide refreshing "cider" remarks to the frustrating conflict. her words are honest and frank, never straining far from the truth as she says things as she sees it but her words can also reflect her skills at making clever and funny remarks. it's proven by her abilities to deliver quick impactful adlibs and never missing the chance to quickly insert a funny remark or two. her actions are certain, with her having a strong drive to do things and not give up easily on them. she's not the type to stop halfway and can never be satisfied with incomplete work. everyone knows how raum is; she'll want to see things to do the end. she'd be the perfect best friend for any drama character as she'd never abandon you. she'll always be there to support you and she'll never let you to lose confidence in yourself. 

even if she can a lead character's best friend, son raum can also pass off as the main villain. she often ignores better ways to do things and she's reluctant to trust an unproven opinion long enough to find out its worth. she'll be uncomfortable and stressed if she's forced into trusting an unproven opinion or a risky solution. she has very strong beliefs on what is right, wrong, or acceptable in her eyes and it's just like her to ignore that there are other ways to get things done. she's not afraid to set things straight and ensue order, even if she gets swayed by her emotions in the process. she's easily irritated and has a short fuse that can be triggered when being pushed. it's her biggest weakness to have to express her feelings. she's still unskilled in revealing herself readily and it shows when she's clumsy in verbally saying how she feels. she forgets how to appreciate the sentimental value or positivity in something as she chooses to stick to the truth and nothing but the truth.

BACKGROUND 
her family was one that you may cross paths with often. two working parents, her father son gyujin a chemical engineer and her mother kim hyesoo a marketing director. they were a family of four. though her family was like any other upper middle class family you'd see, her parents made sure she felt special with her unique name. raum, taken from the pure hangul word that meant beautiful.

growing up as the oldest of two children, raum embodies her title as the firstborn. she always obeyed the rules and the expections set to her as that's always what firstborn children do. like any other firstborn, she carries a dependable aura in the eyes of her parents and can be held as an example for her younger brother. notorious for inheriting her mother's stubborness, she often fought with her brother over what she truly wants before reluctanctly yielding to him. the son household acknowledges that things are more lively with her around as the noise.

as she developed as her own person, raum has always wondered what her calling is, what her purpose in life should be. she's always looked for answers to her question, what possibly could be the perfect job for me? considering her personality, she'd be content with her life doing just one thing or sticking to one employer her whole life. she'd always tried her best at school, though it has been a process full of trial and error so she had good enough grades. her parents were ones who always advised her to pursue her passion, just as they did and didn't want her to take up a field she wasn't confident or comfortable with. even so, she didn't want to disappoint them. she didn't want to tell them, she doesn't know what she wants to do for a living. she was only seventeen (eighteen in korean age) but she already felt the weight of future life decisions because those around her seemed to know what they wanted to do already. there was peer pressure for her to be able to know her career path already.

she hates it when she's put into unconventional situations so when a man claiming to be a scouting manager for pledis entertainment went up to talk to her when she was shopping with her best friend minseo on the apgujeong rodeo street, she quickly put on a mode of defense. the scouting manager didn't want to pick a fight with her so they gave her the business card and telling her to think about joining the agency if she didn't have any other plans.

though she wasn't too sure of the accountability of this opportunity, it was better than being stuck in confusion over her college major decisions and career path. she's lived her life strongly sticking to tradition and security but this was the only time she strained from it. maybe deep down, she chose this to take a break from rules, structures, and order. with her direction in life uncertain, she jumped on the opportunity without knowing the end of it. though uncomfortable with the unconventional situation, she wants to see things to the end and has too much of an ego and pride to quit halfway. her only wish is to finally be able to decide what she wants in life.

☄️ she comes from a devoted catholic family and her fellow members know how dilligent she prays during tough times. she holds on to her faith dearly. 

☄️ in all honesty, was just training to rule down what she wants to do in life but got dragged into 16TV just after a month and will be thrown into a totally unexpected career. oops.   
☄️ admits that she's a big fan of sm artists since they're the only idols she knows. she doesn't listen to idol music since korean music wise, she's more of a k-hip hop and k-indie listener.
☄️ she would say that her motto is a verse from the bible she was most inspired by and gained strength from. it is 1 corinthians 16:13 : “be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong”. 
☄️ is a avid variety show viewer. she prefers to watch variety shows over k-dramas on tv, saying that she gets a lot of positive vibes and influences from them. her members conclude that this was why she's able to make them laugh easily ("raum's our laugh button, she can make us laugh even when she's just sitting still").
☄️ that one member who does everything mcs tell her to do with confidence and zero shame and can throw away her image just for laughs. in other words, she's absolutely shameless.
☄️ unable to stand bitter coffee, she'll always ask a lot of questions and contemplate a lot before finally ordering a cup of coffee. usually resorts to a mocha latte, chai latte or flat white. her members won't know this until they hang out more often. ("i went to a cafe with raum and she took ten minutes to order her drink, i almost got mad at her for taking so long!") 
☄️ is mediocre at cooking but she defends herself, saying that it's better than no cooking skill at all. will follow a recipe rather than winging it but then again, it'd be best for her to taste test instead.
☄️ is a workout junkie. exercise changed her life after it became one of the reasons she lost 30 pounds throughout high school life and her weight loss and body upgrade can be observed all throughout 16TV.
☄️ her youtube history is filled with funny variety show clips and workout videos, she defends herself by saying it is research.
☄️ the one whose always honest with her thoughts even with the hurtful truth. her members sometime call her off on this, but she'll always come to say, "this is the truth and the harsh reality and i'm only saying this for your own good."

☄️ even if she's the fighter in the group, none of the members can deny that she'll do anything to defend or protect her members.

SON HARU 손하루 younger brother, 2002, student. (fc: son dongpyo)
haru doesn't send much affection as her younger brother. whenever they see each other, they'd only shake their heads and send off sarcastic comments at each other. as the youngest child in the house, haru doesn't have much skills as his sister so the only time he'd come up to her is when he'd beg her to do things for him like printing his school tasks, proofreading his essays or clippings, help him make a presentation and several household chores. they'll get along better as years pass, but for now, they're constantly mocking and pissing each other off until haru comes to ask her to do simple things for him. only then, does he put on an aegyo relay for her before she kicks him away. when he found out her sister is about to debut, he made a list of sarcasm and mockery to throw at his sister. he just couldn't believe it since for haru, his sister is an oompa loompa but if sixteen succeeds, he'll be the quickest sibling to come and approach raum, trying to rub shoulders with her members before raum swats him away with a blow to his head.

the girl she got stuck with since middle school, minseo has become her reliable support system. she's the friend raum goes to in any mood, when she's sad, mad, happy or tired. they're two friends who confide in each other and give advice on their thoughts. minseo is more softer than raum, which makes her different than raum. when minseo can't fit in well, raum has already memorized everyone's names. it's raum that draws minseo into the noise and minseo is the one who anchors her down a bit so it wasn't surprising when minseo found out about raum being on 16TV since minseo could never imagine herself as an idol (that is why she dreams of being an elementary teacher). it suits raum better because gosh, imagine how she'd kill it on variety shows. she learns a lot from raum and raum is always ready to protect minseo from the bad.

SIXTEEN groupmates.
being one of the newer trainees meant that even the son raum was quite anxious to be around the other girls but she would never let that show because she knows better than to show weakness. she had to go off strong and she's enjoying getting to know the other girls, observing which girl seems to be the ringleader and which seems to be the quiet ones. raum is going to try her best to intergrate with the others, whether through being the tough little sister or the funny big sister. she may have to consider herself lucky because these girls aren't the type to fight others and they're nice but of course, the girls would have a tough time trying to tame her and not fight her when raum gets into that mood. hopefully, raum will grow fond of her groupmates and enjoy bonding with them. one thing's for sure, choi seunghwa will have a hard time managing the untamed beast that is son raum while maknae yeom narae will be surprised to see that son raum showers with a lot of attention and care when she knows that the older girl is quite a fighter.

SEVENTEEN brother group, labelmates.
unlike her groupmates who've had frequent encounters with their brother group, raum was not so lucky as she was a new trainee and they've already debuted at the time. of course, she enjoyed listening to their debut mini album and the seventeen project that happened right before that so to be a trainee in pledis ent. was quite exciting for her because what if she runs into the seventeen members herself? she's not close to any specific members but she won't shy away to be acquainted with them, considering her super extroverted self. she'd definitely get along with the comedic members more and if put in the same room, only god will tell if any human ears can withstand the ruckus that unfolds.
