Personality. 

She loves art and anything from diy to writing poems and story, Chenhua wants to be an artist if she couldn't make it as an idol. As said she is careless and clumsy so she is the member who tends to slip on stage or stumble so she always tries to keep herself focused and not trip and drop anything. She is confident only when she is around her members or friends because she feels comfortable enough with showing her real self, she struggles to be confident in front of strangers because she is scared of all the judgement. She has been alone since a young age but roselyn still needs someone to guide her and help her with problems because she tend to over stress herself when facing one. In a good way she is tall so she can protect the rest of the members from sasaengs or paparazzi, she also isn't afraid to snap at them and tell them to stop when it's already crossing the line, she makes sure all the members and staff are safe every time they travel. She gets stressed quickly and overthinks a lot as she gets demanding pressure from her company and fans and Chenhua always try to do her best to make everyone proud even if she has to make herself someone she isn't, this also leads to her problems of sleeping.

She is very nice to people because she is one of those people who believes kindness can fix this cruel world (I’m not disagreeing i mean…). She tries to be as nice as she can to others because she doesn’t know what happens in their lives and she doesn’t want to be a portal to others. She is shy around new people and doesn’t like to put herself out there. She is perfectly fine with her few friends because she doesn’t like having everyone's attention and fortunately for her, she is well “hidden” amongst the crowd. She is an innocent little bean. She barely gets in trouble or does bad things. Her parents are strict, so she grew up this way. This trait is both good and bad at some times. This poor baby is like a child sometimes with all of her “street” knowledge. She asked one of her friends what a was. She also still gets flustered over someone flirting with her smh. Being too caught up in trying to perfect herself, Chenhua may get lost in a conversation. She will focus on something that she believes is more important than the topic at hand.

Background.

She was born in France and stayed for 6 years before moving to her home in China, during her childhood days she finds it hard to interact mostly with his father who was always working 24/7, her father's work was also the reason why the family had to move to South Korea, she had trouble with socializing at school too because she is Chinese-Korean and adjusting in a asian school is hard but luckily she was able to get through and make some friends, she also started liking kpop during these days because her mother's ringtone was into the new world by SNSD and ever since then Chenhua listened to their other songs. After 6 years she was able to move back to China and she felt a lot better, she grew up and started developing her talent of singing, her parents thought roselyn had a wonderful soothing voice and she used to volunteer to sing in orphanage and hospital to make kids and elderly people feel better, this is also when her video of singing got viral and chinese trainee agency started scouting her but she rejected all of them as Chenhua was still 13 at that time, the same year her younger brother Jin Liang or Jin shortly was born and his birth brought joy to rosie as she finally have a friend / sibling.

When she was sixteen she got scouted by SM Entertainment when she was singing in a shopping centre this time, Chenhua thought it was her only chance and agreed to audition without telling her parents which got them furious when they got a mail saying that roselyn was accepted as a SM trainee and had to fly to korea, her dad had no problem since she could live with her aunt in seoul while training but her mother who had a very strong connection to her felt it hard to let go of her daughter after all being an idol meant less time to gather with her family but nonetheless her parents agreed and a few months later Chenhua found herself in SM's training room, but things didn't go as expected and roselyn received a lot of mistreatment from the trainers and staff so she quit and joined an audition in Dal Media.

- Her mother opens a flower shop and Chenhua used to spend her time after school there and found that roses specifically juliet roses are her favorite
- Chenhua has ranidaphobia, so she is scared of frogs

Mother / Huang Jingmei / 50 / Cafe owner of museum, co-owner / Loving, busy / Although not as close as her father, her mother loves her dearly and would always try to be there on her special days, and even if she can't she'll try her best to make it up for her.

Father / Hwang Junhyuk / 53 / Owner of the museum, architect / Hard-working, confident / She's way closer to her father than her mother, due to the fact that her mother is a busy woman and is rarely home. He tries his best so that she doesn't feel lonely without her mother.

Trainee Life.
Chenhua has struggled a lot in her trainee life, for 2 years staight, being a social person and often being on her own outside of the trainee cliques, and also having entered at such a young age. She had to juggle elementary and middle school with trainee life, which was exhausting. She had to move schools, away from her best friend. She also entered without really much skills, so at the start she didn't have any confidence either. Now she has a bit of confidence in her singing, but still not much. Chenhua has also been losing her interest in idol life, but she decides to keep going with it, because if she leaves now she'll disappoint everyone she knows. She has decided to go for it and leave to become a classical musician when the time is right. She's so different from the others that she stands out between the other trainees.

Scandals.

Early-2014 / False / The rumor that she was a school bully in middle school. It started when a sasaeng (for another member, not hers) pushed her at the airport and Chenhua pushed her back because she didn't have space to walk. It's actually a funny memory in the fandom, since Chenhua was homeschooled until her last years of high school.

2014 / False / Her dating scandal with NCT member and good friend Taeyong after she interacted with him cutely at SMRookies backstage, the two was super friendly with each other behind the scenes, and a lot of fans believed they're dating
Mid-2016 / True / The abusive manager scandal that included her whole unit. One of her male managers was really abusive with the girls, he was always shouting with the girls and even hit them a few times. Everyone was afraid to speak up but Chenhua and the other older members gained courage and posted the videos, pictures and audios they took in secret. They got a lot of new staff members after the accident.
