BACKGROUND 

myeong gaon's story is one that many may know or whisper about. how could one not, when the myeong gaon is the youngest daughter of a powerful and rich household with three nice-looking brothers and enough resources that she and her siblings were able to spend extensive time abroad in the united kingdom? she is what others would call a chaebol, a woman of class as one may put it and wherever she goes, gaon always has her head high and chin up.

many wonder, how was she raised to be such a woman? well, of course, what others see is not even a tenth of eighth of her actual life as a part of her household. under her grandfather and her father, myeong ok, the family business of chemicals, traditional medicines and cuisine that has been passed through generations, grew to become a mega corporation that exports to developed countries. the corporation itself became powerful in that her father, the current ceo, can now rub shoulders along with well-known politicians and government officials alike or have low-key meetings with military personnel due to the jobs and networks of his in-laws, cousins and children who are current key players in expanding the business. 

in order to figure out gaon's position within her siblings, it's quite simple. one thing's for sure, she may not be able to be the next ceo of the corporation as that one's her eldest brother's right seeing as he's their father's current right-hand man and a skilled business through and through. cuisine? she never cared to learn how to cook and that one's her second brother's talent without a doubt, his meticulous personality driving his culinary ambitions. she could easily think of becoming a female soldier but she hates feeling like she's forced to follow orders or labour so the military path was not hers and rather, her third brother's cup of tea who wanted to have hands-on experience in defending the country as a sense of fulfilling his duties as a korean man.

so, where does this left gaon? well, she had the academic and financial freedom to explore the world due to her status as the youngest child and only daughter. she was raised by her mother well in order to endure the world of the rich, powerful, and wicked where the majority was men. this caused gaon to be strong-willed and commanding in her personality, a defense mechanism her unconscious mind formed so that she would not crumble and be a weak link to herself and her family. she was a myeong and myeongs are not the target; they are the hunters. it was in her blood.

gaon always felt like the dysfunctional (or messed up, in her own words) and crazy relationships that exist in her family had always been interesting, as if she lived in a chaebol drama and she found observing and analzying them mentally in her mind interesting or fascinating. she always wanted to understand what was going on in the minds of her family and that was the reason why she chose to pursue psychology, so she could understand what's causing her life to roll around like it does. in all honesty, gaon enjoys psychology as it makes her feel like she has the key to explore the mind of others, even her father whom she perceives as fickle and her brothers who seem twisted in certain directions.

of course, she enjoyed studying it in university (as called in the united kingdom) but she was surprised to find out what her father's plans was for her upon arriving in her motherland after her university graduation. to just live as a married woman without a purpose other than building her own family and attending her father's events? gaon was clearly upset and furious. how dare he reduce her value as a woman to just a bride? was this the plan he had in mind when he sent said bodyguard to the united kingdom, for her and him to bond intimately so that she eventually settles down instead of chasing ambitions in a man's world?

she's sure that her bethrothed knew nothing, being manipulated by the leverage of her father using his father's death as a reason for him to work closely with their corporation. her father, she was sure, was rotten to the core at this point in his life and she hated it. she wanted to turn the tables so she searched for a way. the top secret government experimentations was one file she enjoyed reading in her brother's office. she put two and two together, she can test her father and he would have no choice but to obey as the government would look on the corporation fondly if she volunteers as a subject. her bethrothed tried to stop her, he knew too well that she could die in there without a chance of her being present to marry him.

he was scared of losing her but she didn't care. if there was a chance in which she could have both him and power, this was the one chance. he just had to keep praying and pull strings to keep tabs on her and in that moment, she once again reminded him of the world she was born and raised in; the dysfunctional, distorted and fickle world full of people with twisted plans and that made him help her carry out her plan (one that in his personal opinion, is actually quite twisted and overcomplicated perhaps out of habit due to her upbringing) despite not fully support such a plan to have something that can be fully hers in the world.

myeong gaon is like a thorned rose; so potent, beautiful and alluring the eyes of those who pass by her yet thorny with flaws. she is confident in who she is, what she's about and she knows herself in-and-out for sure. the sense of confidence that gaon radiates causes her to trust herself and not to sway by the words of others. she doesn't hesitate to put her skills and strengths to work when the situation calls for it, knowing how well she can perform in certain occasions. she's just determined that way and those closest to her know that when gaon makes a decision or formulates a plan, she'll be reluctant to change and she'll always work to complete her tasks no matter how much multitasking she has to do as myeong gaon knows no surrender and no regrets. this resulted in her "never stay die" attitude growing up in what one would dub a messed up environment; she never lets things overwhelm her when they are not a part of her own business and she knows her place well.

gaon has this face-to-face or "heads-on" attitude to her that causes her to become a prominent figure in a team whose not afraid to say things as they are and due to her determination, she's reluctant to back down. yet, nobody can really say anything to her as they know she has this charisma dripping and oozing from her. gaon has always had this ability "gut feeling" in her mind to be able to have someone figured out in-and-out from the first three meetings so she's able to arise and take charge within a group. one is able to trust gaon as growing up, her classmates dub it "the gaea effect" because, one thing's for sure, myeong gaon is not a follower; she was born a leader and the charisma she possesses is not something just anyone can have. as her brother harim once explained to her in his own words, "you make them go 'gaon, take the wheel! as if you were jesus."

equipped with the aforementioned strengths, there is another reason why she grew up strong despite her unlikely or toxic environment. she has a seemingly razor sharp wit, just able to think quickly and catch things quick (an ability dubbed by koreans simply as "sense" in korean english or "tact"). this helps her mind process what she observes quickly and makes her capable of throwing in sensible or sharp remarks here and there. it makes her feel like she has the upper hand in a situation, fueling her confidence even more than she's already is. catching the certain message quickly in ambigious words of others as it is the art of speech in korean has caused her to be able to prepare for things in advance. so, despite others thinking that she has no brains and just riches, gaon is just able to prove them wrong because she knows how to entrap them and catch them off guard quick.

the thorns of gaon's personality are often prominent than not but many choose to look the other way because gaon is that villain you grew up wanting to steal her look and personality when you can tell from her attitude that she's unapologetically badass (and the fact that her household can mess you up if you mess with her first). to protect herself, she often turns to ruthless methods practically or to distance herself emotional and mentally from others. when deciding on things, she's rather "heartless" in regards to other people because gaon's mind leans more on "it's my way or no way at all" and doesn't consider any sentimental or emotional value in things to be important. she opts out of choosing feeling over logic and will choose the latter every single time, guaranteeing that someone's just bound to get pissed at her or have their feelings hurt by her sooner or later.

so, what if you go against her on that matter, you may ask? well, gaon is a rather commanding presence who virtually nobody would want to mess with so that plan would fail miserably. despite her charisma, when gaon goes on to work mode, she's rather imposing in the sense that it'll be hard to oppose her because again, her mind screams to her "it's my way or no way at all". it does cause her to be overbearing to those around her, though she tries her best to seem like a good girl. she can't deny that she still has evil in her core. gaon will instantly go on fight mode when she feels like someone's disagreeing with her and argues until she sees the light of victory, not daring to back down. of course, this drains the energy out of those around her as she can never seem to stop defending herself to acknowledge any of her mistakes and shortcomings (her bethrothed is at awe when he sees how good she was at hiding that commanding mind of hers back in manchester).

perhaps, gaon is ruthless for a reason and it's most likely due to her cynical approach to life. she's always had to face off against her brothers' sarcasm on the daily and grew to adopt a rather pragmatic way of thinking about life's wonders and events. her choice of words and way of speech has since become hostile, rough and cold but of course, with exception of "faking it until you make it" as it'd be ridiculous for a person of her background not to be surrounded by "friends". myeong gaon is meticulous in her planning of her actions, seeing as she's always had to act a certain way and possess certain things. unknowing to her, she's always been fickle no matter how much she denies it. it's as if it was in her blood to have everything calculated in a seamless fashion that is natural or unsuspicious and she shows her craft by swaying those around her in order to fulfill her plans.

gaon knows she's a hypocrite for hating her fickle family when she also does such things out of tendencies. she is messed up, twisted in all directions but she can't deny that the mess within her is eerily beautiful as she is.

LIFE BEFORE JOINING

gaon still remembers her life before joining the experimentations as if it was yesterday even if three years have passed since then. she had quite an ordinary life as a psychology student in the united kingdom, accompanied by her bodyguard (who she was also bethrothed to). she had only been in korea for around four months after becoming a fresh university graduate when she decided to join the experimentations during a tense family dinner where she volunteered to be subject in front of her parents and three brothers. she didn't really have felt like she had a strong ambition or purpose in life so she conceived a plan (a crazy one, her bethrothed would add) that would be too messed up and insane that her father just had to give her back her life and freedom.

》it's easy to describe gaon's relationship with her parents; strained and bent but not broken. as she was the last child her parents planned to conceive after three challenging sons, her parents were excited to welcome a daughter at last. her father was very happy to find out he'd finally have a little princess but sadly, his busy career as a powerful businessman rubbing shoulders with government officials caused him to be rather firm with his little girl as if she was one of his sons. of course, he was comparatively softer with gaon but it was gaon's mother who significantly balanced out the dynamics. her mother is calm and caring to her as gaon was the only other woman in the family, teaching her all the ways of being a girl and later, a woman in a man's world. gaon does not know this but her father has deep regrets over the way he treated her as he is very fond of her inside yet he expressed those sentiments rather roughly and gave himself a bad impression to her. gaon grew up to become a strong and assertive woman the way her mother had always taught her and her father is very proud of what she's become, though he keeps challenging her like one of his sons for the sake of "fairness". gaon thinks of gaining her father's favour like a game where she has to compete against her brothers, not knowing that deep inside, she's the soft spot of her father and is miles ahead in terms of affection compared to her brothers. well, isn't that the dysfunctional relationship rich or powerful families seem to operate on nowadays?

HER THREE OLDER BROTHERS. 

》if the myeong household was like any other family, you'd imagine the three brothers would've been excited to have a younger sister after the years they had to bear with each other's testosterones but of course, their family was not any family. despite all three being excited at the sight of their little sister, they were a bit defensive as she grew older as they had their own set of things and people they needed to protect. in short, they feared her in a sense as they knew that their father had a soft spot for his little princess. gaon and her three brothers always seem to exchange banter every time they meet each other but there are moments in which their sincerity shows underneath all the defense mechanisms. they do remind or take care of her through text and it'd leave gaon quite speechless that they have to act a certain way in front of others and another way in front of her. at this point, gaon cannot distinguish between her brothers' sincerity and their "act" or "facade" but then, she realized that's how accustomed and experienced they've become in hiding their weaknesses behind a certain persona so whatever actions or reactions they give her, she just rides the flow of the ambiance they're letting of.

currently, oldest son jooyoung is her father's right hand or subordinate and most likely to inherit the position of ceo of their family business while second son minhee is a well-known chef at a newly found restaurant endorsed by the family business. the brother she gets along with the most is the youngest son, harim who is now climbing the ranks as a military officer as he is the one that is the most sincere beneath the unemotional expressions befitting of a military man. it's also perhaps due to the distance between gaon and harim (as military life has their own routines and rules) that he always expresses his concerns and thoughts towards her through texts or short phone calls. gaon always bickers with minhee the most as their personalities are very similar despite their differently lifestyles (even if she knows he'll go soft for her at the end and fix her up a meal or two at his restaurant) while jooyoung is rather realistic with his words towards gaon, saying that it's mainly due to their ten year so he comes off stronger than he's supposed to for her own sake as he's been there and done that. gaon doesn't know this but jooyoung tries his best to cover up her messy tracks in the eyes of their father, vouching for her decisions behind her back. actually, they all do and she doesn't know that every single time.
 

 

  
CHU TAEHEE (22), FELLOW EXPERIMENTATION SUBJECT. 

》when taehee first came in as a subject in the experimentation with that sort of personality, gaon knew that he was clueless. in other words, taehee was ed. of course, taehee's personality rubbed off the wrong way on gaon despite him being sincere with his optimism and friendliness because gaon has lived setting up thornes around her that she can no longer accept such personalities without hesitation. she distances herself from taehee because in a sense, his optimism makes her nauseous. he's like this innocent, young lamb that is an easy kill for a hunter in a flat field and gaon only shakes her head at his attitude. it may be useful in his own perserverance towards the experimentations but of course, like a young lamb, once they stumble or fall, they'll limp or never walk the same way so gaon at this point is waiting for the moment in which taehee stumbles and feels the sting from the fall. she's ready to giggle and whisper in his ears, "i told you so." all this is despite the fact that taehee admires gaon because she just seemed like a bad in his eyes and also, her powers are cool and powerful at the same time. he seems to cling onto her a lot and gaon always pushes him away out of disgust to his tactless, insecure and oblivious personality. he just seems like a clueless little kid in her eyes.

DESCRIPTION 

"mind over all" is the name associated with the power to manipulate anything unlimited, said to be the ultimate level of telekinesis. the abilities that come with this level of telekinesis include psionic energy manipulation, telepathy, immense telekinesis (energy, matter and light manipulation), tactile telekinesis, and even healing. 

her powers originate from the power of her mind's thoughts. it is believed from the data acquired that the source of power to use her abilities are widespread across her body in the form of energy and emotions. through more experimentations and physical as well as mental training, it becomes easier to control. if she were to multitask, she needs high concentration. the way to controlling her powers is actually her state of mind. she has to maintain a stable and neutral thought process in order for her to be able to do multiple actions at once. for example, she can deflect mind control whilst creating a force field or use psi-armor while creating weaponry from psi-energy. the key is to keep her emotions separate from her thoughts or mind so they do not hinder her decision-making.

myeong gaon has been used to the life of being on the top percent within the society, the top tier within the pyramid, the predator of the food chain only because of her family background so to have a power or ability meant something to her. she had something within her own hands that made her special and it made her feel powerful. it made her smirk or smile at the thought that she had always been destined for power and glory, doing things to her ego and pride. afterall, surviving the process in itself proved a point to her family and to herself. she was indeed their bloodline. she was a strong woman. she could make a ripple in the world.

as gaon had told her father the day before she went into the facility, "be prepared, father, for when i come back to you all stronger and more respected than you and your sons would ever be."

GOALS/MOTIVATIONS if you asked gaon about her goals or motivations, she'd have to ponder for a while. "i've never thought about that, i've always been well enough," would be the answer that other subjects will hate her for so she does answer with that exact sentence. deep down, gaon knows what she wants. honour, glory and a guaranteed place in society as she'll be regarded as a special individual, a superhero in the eyes of the world.

REASONS FOR JOINING THE PROGRAM? 

being the only daughter, the youngest after three brothers, she wanted to proof her place. she volunteered to join the program ahead of any of her brothers who hesitated to say yes to their father's stern words and sentiments regarding the program. her brothers thought she was crazy and they worry for her but deep down, gaon knows that they were cursing themselves for failing to "man up" in front of the offer and not being able to protect her from her decision, knowing just how ruthless the programs were and slim the chances of survival upon entering the experimentations (as the household are rich and influential as well as sponsors of the program itself, they were able to know about the program). gaon knows she might die but at least, her parents and brothers will cry sincere tears if she does lose her life and honour her in the family wall with a painting. 

yes, she knows her reasoning behind her decisions is messed up and irrational or absurd but she'd just brush it off casually, "guess i'm just a messed up girl under all this woman skin at the end of the day." deep down, it made her realize that no matter how much she tries to avoid becoming messed up like the rest of her family, she can't deny that she still absorbed some percentage of their craziness or fickleness. she is, after all, a myeong.

the oldest son and child out of three siblings, gi saeyoung had always been in close range with the world of the wealthy and powerful since a young age. how could he not, when his father is the personal secretary of the ceo to myeong ok's corporation? he remembers the image of his father coming from home late at night but never empty-handed. he always bought something for his children who were waiting for him back at home. saeyoung respected his father. he worked hard to organize and arrange someone else's schedule but he never showed his children expressions of suffering or struggling. he always managed to tell his kids the bright side of his jobs and remind them to grow up, dream big and be great people.

so, of course, it saddened saeyoung deeply when his father passed from an illness he had been hiding from his children. he was only seventeen. he remembered the day his life changed which was the day of his father's funeral. his boss, myeong minsik came to pay his respects and he asked saeyoung for his time so they can share a talk in which he mentioned an offer, "i come to offer you a chance to study in england while helping around miss bailey with house chores. of course, you'd be paid accordingly as miss bailey is so you can help your mother and siblings out financially. wouldn't that be a great chance?" saeyoung was fearless at the age of seventeen, he wanted to help his mother.

he agreed to the offer to which gaon's father smiled, "i knew you took after your father. ah, and while you're at it, you should keep my dear gaon company. she might need a fellow korean in that foreign country, no matter how much she denies her loneliness." saeyoung nodded obediently. myeong minsik smiled again, "if you do a good job keeping her company, i'll make you her personal bodyguard once you grow up. now, wouldn't that be great?" it was since that moment, saeyoung became directly involved with the myeong household, specifically gaon.

it didn't take long before every administrational procedures were fulfilled and saeyoung found himself saying goodbye to his classmates and family to board a flight to manchester. he introduced himself to miss bailey and got accustomed to the chores needed to be done as well as receiving a briefing about gaon's routine and schedules. it's worth noting that saeyoung was extremely relieved that he was one of the more talented students when it comes to english because if not, he wouldn't even considering accepting myeong minsik's offer. now that he's grown up, he's convinced that gaon's father knew he was more than capable and willing to take the offer that was irresistible for a young kid.

he could only chuckle at how planned myeong minsik was but it was thanks to that offer that he met myeong gaon.

FIRST MEETING

was it when she was fifteen? gaon can no longer recall the precise details of the circumstances that led her to have saeyoung as a bodyguard but she remembered that on the first day she was going to start year 11 back in manchester, saeyoung introduced himself as the new "butler" stationed in her residence under her father's orders. saeyoung remembered how gaon sighed when he told her he was seventeen. why would her father send a seventeen year old to help out the maid at her residence? she thought her father underestimated the capabilities of her and miss bailey, the british maid at her residence at the time but she couldn't say that out loud. it'd hurt saeyoung's feelings.

"you don't have to worry, young lady. i'm only here to work and provide for my family after my father's passing. he also said... perhaps, you'd need a fellow korean friend around in case you were lonely in this foreign country."

that's when gaon realized she would've made a mistake if she said something out loud so she nodded to saeyoung's sentence and shook his hand but on her way to school, she still couldn't understand her father's logic. why did he care if she was lonely in manchester and needed a friend when he cared so much about his wealth back home? later, in the future, she'd realize that it was just a part of his odd and clumsy ways to act as a father to her and she admitted that meeting saeyoung did change a lot of things in her life.

THE STORY 

♡ chapter one: the young lady and the "butler" ♡

it would be safe to say that saeyoung and gaon grew accustomed to seeing each other in the same living residence after time passed since miss bailey tasked him with waking her up, packing her lunch, going to or from school with a motorcycle (the driver's license test was taken care of by gaon's father in advance so he easily acquired one for a car and motorcycle) and reminding her of her schedule or assignments. when she wanted to go to a party, she was even able to ask him for his approval. gaon's extroverted core caused her to easily befriend saeyoung and initially, she saw him as her loyal supporter that would have her back anywhere or any time she neded him.

saeyoung was slowly getting a taste of what it was like for his father to take care of someone else to the smallest detail of their lives and it was tiring to say the least but every time she showed off her high test results or calls him to go wherever she is, there's this sense of achievement inside him. he never knew that being needed or having someone look for him was something that made him feel good.

this continued and gaon's schoolmates did have suspicions that saeyoung was her boyfriend through their interactions at school (yes, myeong minsik even had saeyoung transfer to the exact same school as her) as he was the one gaon was spotted commuting with to or from school but gaon debunked those suspicions as she sees saeyoung as a companion, a fellow korean and a friend. 

♡ chapter two: the bodyguard to the chaebol ♡

saeyoung worked hard to build his body as he also got to experience student life as a part of the soccer team and before gaon knew it, he seemed mature in her eyes. he graduated at eighteen and he took the year after to attend self defense lessons and several language classes so that he could convince myeong minsik that he's worthy of being a personal bodyguard for gaon (now that he thinks about it, he was going to get the position anyway as gaon would've never picked anyone else for the job). gaon remembered that year as he was always ready to be wherever she was and drop her off or pick her up from school since he had a flexible schedule after graduating and he forewent college so that his younger siblings could afford it back in korea with the money that he's accumulated through the offer.

when he turned nineteen (twenty in korean), he went to enlist in the military. gaon was saddened by his enlistment but the timing would be better then rather than later as he'd be discharged just in time for her graduation ceremony. saeyoung remembered how he surprised her by putting on his military uniform and saluting to her when she returned from a party one night, her reaction was memorable as she ran to him and hugged him. she was more than happy to have him back as she went through an intense fight with her then-boyfriend and not having him around was hard, making gaon realize how much of a prominent role in her life.

ever since his return, saeyoung made an overdued appearance the next day in front of her school when he picked her up from school as he sent death glares at her boyfriend after knowing she had a fight with him. a few days later, he heard from her that they managed to reconcile and that was a signal for him to keep an appropriate distance from her in the meantime (an advice from miss bailey he took, knowing her wisdom). of course, this didn't last long as he broke up with her on the day of their graduation (saeyoung almost knocked the guy down if not for gaon holding him back). that same day, gaon's parents, myeong minsik and gong hyejoo attended her ceremony to which minsik officially assigned saeyoung as her bodyguard. gaon reacted to the news with delight and so did saeyoung. 

♡ chapter three: a friend and lover to the woman ♡

gaon went on to attend college as saeyoung continued to be her mode of transportation, now with a car on certain days. of course, saeyoung had a lot of free time when she's on campus and fills that time with video calls or phone calls to his family (he only goes back to korea for two weeks or three on certain occasions with gaon's permission), exercising, and boxing classes. he continues to built his body in order to be able to protect his "young lady", to which miss bailey would correct now that gaon is now a woman.

her university life was full of ups and downs, her love life being one of the roller coaster factors as she's often getting herself into casual arrangements with men and women alike but always ends up being the one left behind. saeyoung always had to pick up the broken pieces of her heart and help her mend them every single time. in addition to that, she would always cause him to get out of bed and hurry to whatever bar, club, or pub she was drinking her sanity away. saeyoung forgot that she was a messed up person underneath all her strong points and her drunk giggling, mumbling and conversations reminded him of that. he knew at this point, he had grown a soft spot for her and those puppy eyes of hers make it impossible for him to reject.

well, that's until he realized that it was more than just a mere soft spot. he always wanted to be the one there for her and protect her (or, as she says, just keep her company since she can protect herself hopefully). she started to seem like a woman and there was always something that tugged his heart strings whenever she exposed her inner insecurities to him. she trusted him more than she's ever trusted anyone in her family, she told him once and on those days, he always lent her his shoulder to cry on or a hug to disappear in. he just realized it randomly one day when he waved back at her waving goodbye to him as she walked off into her campus, , i just really love her a lot, do i?

deep down, gaon always felt like he was her first love; something she knew was just too good to be true. she never thought he'd ever reciprocate her as he probably doesn't see her as a woman or potential lover. how could he, when he first met her as a highschool brat? she would've never have thought he also developed feelings for her the way she did; the slow burn, the time spent together, the casual home hangouts, the goofy dumb jokes they share and the company and support they provided for each other.

so, it just happened suddenly one day as they were walking back to the residence, knowing miss bailey had cooked up their favorite dishes. he was holding the umbrella to her side, his right shoulder being hit by the rain as he did so. gaon noticed this so she stopped walking. he stopped as well without forgetting to fully shield her from the rain, his right shoulder still getting drenched in the rain. he looked at her and their eyes met. "gi saeyoung... i think you should stop being my bodyguard and friend," her words surprised him. was she about to fire him? was she tired of him?

"can you be my boyfriend, too?" he bursted into a smile, full of relieved and happiness though he did not expect her to confess to him. he never knew she felt the same way since she could easily love someone else. "i think i don't need to stop being your bodyguard and friend to be your lover, young lady. there is a thing called multitasking," he replied her. she smiled and planted a peck on his cheek before running away. he ran, following her to put the umbrella over her head. they both ended up being drenched when they arrived back at home to which miss bailey scolded them both for doing such a feat but that was in the back of their minds as that day signalled day one for them. 

gaon and saeyoung still reminisces that day as if it was yesterday, surprised that it's been five years since then. they were so young, twenty and twenty-two respectively, and indeed, the young love was intense and hot.

♡ chapter four: the bethrothed to the princess ♡

so then, the young love just intensified between them; the dates, the mornings together, the lovemaking and the skinship. it was blissful, none of the two fell out of the love that had slowly grew within them. he was everything to her and she was to his. they made their relationship too obvious that miss bailey knew what made the two drenched in the rain the day they started their relationship, "ah, you two love birds, i knew it'd happen sooner or later! i had a hunch!"

gaon proudly introduced saeyoung as her boyfriend wherever she went and seeing her cute behaviour just caused a smile on saeyoung's face. he loved her with all his heart, the one he grew to gain energy from. he was proud of where he is, especially knowing his younger siblings were able to pursue their education with the money he earned and was able to attend their graduation ceremonies with delight. he even introduced gaon to his family to which his younger siblings took an instant liking to her and his mother was not worried about his fate living together with her, putting faith in his choice of lover and he asked for myeong minsik's permission to marry gaon to which he casually agreed, "i've observed your work ethic and attitude over the years and you've grown into a man worthy of my dear gaon's choice as she must love you a lot. your father would've been proud and happy for you."

he popped the question on the day of her university graduation as he snuck in the ring in the flower bouquet he got her for the occasion with a note, "will you be my forevermore?" of course, the happy occasion doubled for gaon and she couldn't contain her squeeling as she said yes to him. they embraced each other and that's when they started their bethrothal and returned to korea to inform her household, her brothers causing a fit as they were not ready to let her walk the aisle (before them, she'd joke to them to which they hissed in pain and annoyance).

♡ chapter five: the guardian to the subject ♡

her decision to partake in the government's experimentations as a subject still shocked saeyoung even if he knew it in advance. in fact, he was the one who helped gain access to myeong jooyoung's files on the experiments for her so that they can plan their next moves for the future. of course, saeyoung hated that she'd put such a decision upon herself but he tried her best to understand her world and ways, coming to the conclusion that she wanted to extend the ordinary yet flexible life that she had in manchester. he loved her too much to oppose her as he can see the result she wants to achieve through her rather twisted or overcomplicated methods.

according to the plan, saeyoung will pull strings from outside of the facility to keep tabs on her and to be able to visit the facility on behalf of myeong minsik for reports on his daughter's conditions. although it pains him to be away from her, such visits or getting inside information from the facility will ease his heart a bit as he carries on a small pinch of hope that she'll successfully come out of it alive and they can live forever and more, together and not apart.

that's why gaon holds on to his dog tag necklace so much and would never take it off as it's the only physical thing she has left of him that can remind her of him (if the facility has rules to strip all subjects of their personal belongings before coming into the facility, guess whose already arranged certain leniencies for her? the perks of coming from an influential household, indeed). she realized that it was a good decision to have gotten a couple tattoo with him as looking at the ink gave her strength to continue.

because for the chaebol princess myeong gaon, gi saeyoung was everything she could ever wish for.

ENDING unknown, up to you but there's a small sense of hope in me that they're able to be happy somehow.

alright, phew, finally i finished this app! hi, everyone reading her app and mimi so here's my strong, rich, chaebol girl and i hoped you enjoyed reading her because this app is quite lengthy. i honestly have trouble measuring if the background's enough for these kind of au!s so i hope the background was able to explain her family dynamics and why and how she became the person she was because i felt like i kept repeating the narrative over the app and feared if i didn't back it up with enough detail. anyways, i hope the story of her and saeyoung also entertained you guys because ugh, their story was slightly based off the k2 (the bodyguard and young lady trope) but reimagined.
