Help Is Very Much So Welcomed

So, I was reading through my stories and I know that it's unfair to release another story when I have lots of people waiting on another to be updated, but I just wanted advice. I have lots of stories I want to publish, but I'm just not sure if I should because once I fully publish it, it becomes almost real, you know? The responsibilities become real on trying to finish and update it.

But, I also just want to publish my other fics and I know that sometimes it may strain me, but I generally love writing and feel like I could do it, but at the same time I'm conflicted. Should I publish new ones and work on the others at a slower rate or should I just ignore my unpublished works and completely focus on my published stories?

I already have finished 2/11 stories, so I'm pretty sure I could do it with the others given time, but I don't know if I should release them. I love all my stories to death, but I don't know if I could update regularly enough like I used to. Gosh, this is hard.

Have any writers face this dilemma before and if so, could you give me some advice? It'd be greatly appreciated! <3

Honestly, I'd say just publish them. If you plan to finish them, you will! I'm someone who has a hard time sticking with one story for too long and get major writer's block so I work on other stories to keep it going. I've been pretty inactive recently, but I still plan to finish what I started at some point! It just takes time and most readers are very patient, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. I like to tell other authors, you can post for your readers if you'd like, but I think it's better to post for yourself... if that makes any sense? It's best to do what makes YOU happy, not others. Others just get to read your awesome writing, they lucky lol Anyways, I hope this helped! Keep it up, you got this! :D

i'm literally in the same dilemma T.T
ujysdsgdfgdf i have this story in draft i want to release, and i'm honestly so happy with that story! plus i have so many new story ideas that i really want to start, but i didn't release any of them yet. i'm working on rewriting my older stories, and once i'm done with them, only then will i post my drafted story, while working on new ideas, and eventually posting them too. i feel like working on one story one by one actually helps as you're not switching between plots, and there won't be a need to rush if you're focusing on a few rather than a lot. so yeah, that's what i'd suggest. <3

I would say finish your published stories (obviously not rushed) because I know stories with authors like that and most of the time, I end up forgetting half the story because of it. It's really hard to handle multiple stories at once and yes, we all get really good ideas for a fic and fear we might loose interest/the idea if we don't write it down, but if you publish your stories, it's not just you waiting, it's your readers too. You have to consider your readers as well. I personally choose the fic ideas I know I'll be invested in and write those down in drafts, then move back to my incomplete fics to satisfy my readers. But that's just me, you can do whatever you really want to.

I am having sort of the same issue right now. But rushing to finish a story will yield an ending that you and your readers might not enjoy. So what I'm doing right now is I'm publishing the stork story that has a lot of chapters already written while looking at my uncompleted stories. I have two that need to be finished and then one on-going story. But I want to get in the right vibe to write in the stories, you know? So I picked B. ^^
