Hello Readers and Subscribers!

First off, Happy 2021!

I know I've been AWOL for a long time now - almost 2 years? But that was mainly because of 2 reasons - a highly demanding toxic job and mental health issues. While I have left the said toxic job and will start a better one soon, I'm still on medication and therapy - this will take longer to recover from.

I'm a researcher by profession and fanfic writing was mainly to explore differnt forms and styles of writing since research writing is rather dry and analytical (and mostly - not always - devoid of emotions). I also started on AFF as an experiment to see if I get enough time to write and to check if storytelling form of writing is really my cup of tea. Turns out - I love storytelling! Don't know if I'm a 'good' writer but I definitely enjoy storytelling. It gives me a sense of joy like nothing else. I like all forms of storytelling - writing, talking, acting, singing, etc. but ofcourse my favourite is writing. So I'm definitely not going to stop that! But given that I also write professionally I would like to improve and eventually become a 'good' writer. While I have absolutely loved interacting with my readers and subscribers and met some really warm and amazing people - I've realised that overtime I've moved away from writing for myself. Somewhere I started relying on the system of likes and comments for motivation and lost intrinsic motivation to write of my own volition. I would now like to focus on that and from my experience, and that of other writers, I think AO3 is a better platform for this goal.

If you've read my works you know I mainly write about SHINee but also delve into many other Kpop bands. SHINee is and will always be my ultimate and my stories will continue to be focused on them but I would like to explore other fandoms - namely ANIME!!! I've been an anime fan even before I became a Kpop fan and I've always enjoyed reading fanfics on my favourite OTPs that are mere extras (cannon fodder) in the animes I watch. One of my all-time favourites will be the Captain-Vice Captain pair of Byakuya Kuchiki and Renji Abarai. Not saying I'm a fujoshi (which I totally am!) but since mainstream anime barely explores same relationships, I love reading about them in fanfictions. But now I also want to write them and since I consume all of my anime fanfics on AO3, I would like to write them there as well.

That doesn't mean I'm going to discontinue or stop the current fanfics. Absolutely not. To me writing is therapy and stories are the best way to face my fears and shortcomings. I am simply moving platforms. I will be re-writing my first fic - 'Fault in our Stars' and rename it to 'Seoul Sect' on AO3; but the plot will not change. Only emotional expression and character development will. The other shorter story will continue as it is. I will post these details on the main stories as well. But yes, I will be pick up my stories from where I left them and continue writing. It's my new resolve and this time I'm determined to see it through!
