Q&A 4

How do you come up with your plots?

usually I think of popular aus or character dynamics I like and find a way to add a twist to it. Like I love the florist (soft) character with the cop (edgy dark) character dynamics but the typical choice is make the female character soft and male character dark so I switched it up. Or I really wanted to write a corporate thriller so I did lmao and I wanted it to be diff from my other crime/gang fics

Where do you draw inspiration from?

books, character types, au tropes etc

Will you continue to write?

I don’t know to be honest, at the moment I’m putting writing on pause. I had 7 chapters of a new story written but I had no motivation to do more and push forward with it. i also planned a spin-off for Old Blood New Money after a reader made a suggestion about digging deeper into the background of a very minor character but I only wrote one chapter and although I like the idea of the story, it's another case of not having the energy to write more even though I have the ideas. It might just be the pandemic and the fact that I’m just at home all the time so writing has become monotonous or maybe I’ve finally aged out of it but for now I’m on hiatus

Would you consider writing a female-idol centered fic with a male OC? LOL just to switch it up.

maybe! I’ve never thought of it before

Who are you planning to write about next? Are you going to make another new story after this?

like I mentioned earlier, I don’t really have any intention to post something new atm, I started writing something but after chapter 7 I sorta felt no motivation to continue and I didn’t want to post it and then ghost for months. But if I were to continue I probably would do what I’m doing now, got7 or nct/wayv

What is your inspiration in writing? Your story is so original and so different from each other, how could you do that?

this is similar to an earlier question but the way to make stories original is to take a common trope or cliche and work with those parameters but then find something, ANYTHING, to make it unique or add some spice.

And one last question, do you have any fanfic or story recommendation for me?

I don’t read too many atm! Sorry! But I did qrt a pic on twitter but the account owner is now on private

How do you decide how the story would go? where do you get those inspirations from?

im gonna skip the inspiration question bc I answered it (lol) but for deciding how the story would go, I typically already have an idea where it’s going to go as I’m writing the story. Especially the ending. I know how the main characters are going to interact so that provides an outline and as I’m writing the story, I sorta go in the direction that my brain takes me which sounds dumb lmao. But things ebb and flow as I write. i add scenes as I think of them. I.e. the race track scene in obnm, it’s 100% indulgent and I wrote it bc I wanted to use that setting and as a way to get out main characters closer together

What made you choose taeyoung in particular. Why not junkook for example. Btw love taehyung for the character and i can't imagine any other.

I think you mean taeyong and not taehyung lol two different people. But I chose him bc I’m a big act fan and after MDF I wanted to write about more members. I don’t really follow bts too much so that’s why I didn’t choose any of their members. I tend to write about groups I like or members of groups that I like or that fit the role.

Is there any anecdote from Chasing Rainbows (or if not CR, any other story of yours, I don't discriminate, lol) that you loved thinking up of or writing but weren't able to add into the story? If there is, do you mind sharing it?

ohhh I love this question! So I think I might have mentioned this on twitter but I had initially planned on not having mira and Jackson end up together (I KNOW!!!) they were going to return from the road trip and then yugyeom was gonna knock on Mira’s door to return the ashes and she was going to be so distraught and invites him in for coffee and they were going to end up dating and healing. She would run into Jackson like 6 months later, they would spread the ashes and then part ways knowing that their relationship was built on the one person who isn’t there with them anymore and that tragedy would always hang over their heads and they’d never be happy together with their shared loss but that they don’t regret meeting and knowing each other as deeply as they did. That their ‘relationship’ and the trip would always be fond memories bc it helped them put things into perspective, Mira would get help for her past trauma and insomnia and have this healthy relationship with yugyeom and Jackson would leave swimming, coach and maybe pursue a masters in something. I really considered leaving it that melancholic but I didn’t have the heart to do it. It technically would still be a happy ending but I know if I was a reader I would want the main characters to get together and be together.

another one was Maison des fleurs, instead of ayeon being arrested for allegedly killing an dirty cop, she would be arrested for killing soya’s ex-bf and THAT would be used by the dirty cops to try and get her out of the picture. The story would focus a bit more on ayeon not knowing what was real and what wasn’t so that the audience wouldn’t know either. early in the story when her friends ask her about her guilt she would say something unimportant but then after the trial soya would show up at her apartment and reveal that she noticed that the small ‘unimportant’ thing (maybe she reveals something she isn’t supposed to know if she was innocent or says something out of character) she said actually revealed ayeon’s guilt and now soya knows that she was guilty. She’d ask ayeon to admit it and she would admit it without saying it specifically. Then it’d be revealed that jaehyun helped her cover it up when she came home and was all bloody. Soya would realize that ayeon did it for her and her ex was garbage and she’d just agree to pretend she didn’t figure it out. But I thought that was too dark, I didn’t want ayeon to be a dark, dirty cop even if it was against the bad guys bc it would basically undo all the progress that she made and that it would be hard for me to continue on with a cute epilogue with this big reveal.

Woah....that last question! It’s so interesting to know what else you would have done and I would have enjoyed any of your stories no matter what happened. Time to go re-read all of them again for the 72958th time :))

Thank God you didn't make Ayeon the dirty cops because I would seriously hate it. 😂 but among all of the character in your stories, I personally really like Sanghee and Ayeon. I've got a thing for a strong badass woman. As a woman myself, I found that y. And I somehow see myself in those character. Maybe just a little. The character are nowhere damsel in distress and I love that so much. They hate showing their weak side and I see that in me. Which make me really like those two. While Eunah is more of alpha, her character is wayyy out of our league. She's just superior. Saera is a little bit on the special side.😊 Saera is a breadwinner. The way she loves Youngjae is just so amazing that it felt surreal that she is only a sister, not his mom. And I'm done ranting about my favourite womens of your stories.😁

woahhhh, I did not see the Yugyeom and Mira thing coming at all! (well, for obvious reasons) but wow, it seems odd to think about the two like that, what with Jackson and Mira just working together and understanding each other so well. But now that I am thinking about it, Yugyeom and Mira, hmm. It would have been interesting to see how that panned out, I think it would give the detective he was working with an absolute shock to realise Yugyeom was dating Mira of all people, though I think the way you would have written the nostalgia Jackson and Mira feel after the trip would have killed me in that scenario, because I love the two together so much and it would be really sad if they didn't end up together the way they did. (gahhh, I love how she ended up wearing his sweater to school and aww man, these two.)

About Ayeon, man that's incredibly dark. Though I know she's really tough and if she really, really wanted to, she could kill anyone she wanted to, but yeah, like you said, that's not really her and who she's become through all her progress. I also think it would weigh on Jaehyun a lot, helping Ayeon hide a body like that. Like yes, he loves her a lot, but they have a whole crime on their hands. It reminds me of this one House MD episode where Chase (one of the main characters) and his girlfriend at the time (Cameron) have to treat a really important political person (lol, I don't remember his position, dictator maybe?) who was known to be corrupt and just generally an all around bad guy.

That whole episode revolved around the power they had in their hands as doctors treating him, they could decide whether he should live or not. Chase by the end of the episode is convinced that the guy should die, especially because there's a couple (it's been a while since I've seen House so I think they're under his ruling but can't remember) in the hospital under the political guy's ruling who talk about all the bad things he's done, so he ends up killing the guy by giving him some medicine that's fatal to his health. In this situation, Cameron finds out what he's done and is willing to help him get over the guilt of killing someone the way he did (as well as suggests that they should run away together), but in the end their relationship falls apart because Chase isn't who he used to be and Cameron can't help him no matter how she tries.

lol, sorry for that House rant, but yeah the alt Ayeon ending made me think of the sort of impact it would have on both Ayeon and Jaehyun's relationship and both of them as people and hence this long comment.

Anyway, thank you for answering my question!
