PERSONALITY :
+Positive: Creative, Kind, Social butterfly, Caring
-Negative: Clumsy, Daydreamer, Forgetful, Sarcastic
Hao Yang is the type of person that is like the brother that always treats their siblings. Whether the members wanna go out to eat, buying snacks or wanna go places; Hao Yang would make it happen. He would get scolded for always spoiling the other younger contestants that he got to know in the show so he would tone it down a bit for a while. He is also the type of person that would volunteer to do something if no one else wants to do it. Most of the time you would see him doing the dishes since no one else wants to do it. He really looks after the younger contestants and sees them like the siblings he's never had. He loves meeting new people and most of the time start the conversation. Growing up he watched a lot of fantasy Chinese dramas about cultivating heroes. He looked up to these sorts of character due to a sense of bravery and honour the characters has. When he was younger he wanted to be just like them; I guess that some of that made its way into his own personality.
He would listen to traditional Chinese music in his free time and it's like he gets lost in another world. When this happens it takes a lot to pull him out and back to reality. He can also be forgetful especially when he goes to buy groceries he would always forget something. So everyone ends up writing downs what they need from the supermarket and give the list to him. He remembers when schedules are but would forget when dance practices are.
BACKGROUND : Jin Hao Yang was born in Beijing, China on the 18th of April in 1996. His parents were pretty well off, so he grew up comfortably. His dad is a Korean named Jin Kwang Sun and his mother is Han Chinese named Zhang Chang Xing. His father moved to Beijing for a job at the sister company. And that was how he met Hao Yang’s mother. They both got married and had Hao Yang. His mother passed away when Hao Yang was only 3 years old, so he doesn’t remember her that well. Most of the time his father would tell him about her. When his mother passed away his father had to juggle work and looking after Hao Yang. At first, it was a bit difficult and he would prefer to just stay at home to look after his son, but he knows that he also had to work. But he somehow worked it out. As Hao Yang grew up and started heading to school sometimes, he would be picked up by his grandparents from his mother’s side and stay with them until his dad would come home from work. At his grandparent's house, they would always be watching those old Chinese fantasy dramas about the ancient world of magic, martial arts, cultivation, heroes, Emperors, Princes and Princesses. Which would fascinate him and shaped his childhood. When he was about 8 years old his father took him and his grandparents to a theatre show where the performers used the art of Chinese classical dance to tell ancient myths and legends. From this show, Hao Yang was mesmerised and wanted to be apart of this world. So, he begged his father to let him learn. At first, his father said no but after constantly begging him his father finally gave in. So, his father found an after-school program that teaches this style of dance and enrolled his son. After the first class, Hao Yang really enjoyed it and would go continuously to these classes after school.
Near the end of his first year of middle school, he was walking down the hall to towards lunch when he stopped in front of the notice board when he noticed a flyer for the choir club. Staring at it he thought ‘let’s try something different’ so he went to the choir room and joined the choir club. While being in this club he realised that he also enjoyed singing, not as much as Chinese classical dance though. So, he continued going to the choir club and the after school Chinese classical dance lessons throughout middle school. When he got to high school, he also joined the choir club and continued as he did in middle school. He would also make sure he visited his grandparents on the weekends because he loves then a lot and enjoys spending time with them.
After his high school graduation in 2014, he was accepted to the Beijing Dance Academy and majored in Chinese Classical Dance. He took vocal classes there as an elective but dropped out of that class after a semester because he wanted to focus on his major. There he was able to be friends with a lot of people because of his personality as a social butterfly. He became known as the older brother who spoils the juniors in his year. He was able to become friends with a boy named Huang Li Qiang entered the academy a year after him. The two became close friends. However, there was a person who was jealous of Hao Yang named Wang Li Wei because of how popular Hao Yang was. He entered the academy the same year as Hao Yang and somehow wormed his way into Hao Yang’s circle of friends and waited for an opportunity to take Hao Yang down. Hao Yang had no idea because he never saw Li Wei as that kind of person. That was until the third year at the academy when Li Wei planned to sabotage three other students who he also saw as opponents and plant the blame on Hao Yang. Well, in the end, the three students got hurt to the point that hat they couldn’t continue studying in that field anymore and had to change major. Hao Yang tried to defend himself, but the evidence made it clear to the higher up of the academy that the main culprit was him. He was then given a choice to drop out or be expelled. He ended up choosing to drop out since expulsion would look bad on his record.
Once he packed up and went home his father was waiting for him. He knows his son wouldn’t do this and just comforted his son. His father also stormed into the academy to demand answers, but nothing really came of it. His father swore and cursed as he left the office. A few days later Hao Yang looked like he was dead inside which broke his father’s heart. Hao Yang then asked his father if he was gonna take up that job back in his hometown of Seoul, Korea. His father mentioned it to him about a week ago and was still thinking about it and that’s what he told Hao Yang. Hao Yang just said, “If you do can you please take me with you.” Of course, his father would if his son wanted to. It was so heartbreaking to see how broken his son had become. So that’s how they ended up moving to Seoul, Korea. It took a few months, but it finally happened. In between moving Hao Yang brushed up on his Korean and helped his father.
As they slowly unpacked everything in their new house in Korea Hao Yang found his old notebooks from the vocal classes at the academy and even ones from the choir club from high school. He decided to focus on singing and took up a few vocal lessons just to get back into it. His vocal teacher was impressed and recommended that he try and audition at a trainee company. Seeing as he had nothing to lose be tried out for SM entertainment which he didn’t get. He then tried for BigHit Entertainment which he also didn’t get. He then thought maybe he would have a better chance at smaller companies. So, he then tried Blockberry Creative which he passed.

CONNECTIONS :
— Friend : Huang Li Qiang / Professional Chinese Classical Dancer / Kind, Loyal, Confident / 7-10
When at Beijing Dance Academy Hao Yang was friends with a lot of people. With the personality of a kind older brother, his group of friends would ‘be under his wing.’ But Huang Li Qiang has been the closest person. At first, it was admiration that Li Qiang felt for Hao Yang but after a while, it turned into feelings of love. But he’s too scared to say anything in fear of rejection and the fear of Hao Yang being disgusted with him. He didn’t know his feelings were that deep until Hao Yang was made to leave the Academy and it was worse when he found out the Hao Yang had left the country. It’s been almost 3 years and he still carries a torch (feeling wise) for Hao Yang.
— Former Friend : Wang Li Wei / Professional Chinese Classical Dancer / Jealous, Petty, Manipulative / 1-10
Wang Li Wei is very competitive and thinks that he deserves to be at the top. He isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty to reach it either. When he sees that Hao Yang is popular with the other students at the Academy and was seen to be more talented than him Li Wei got jealous and saw Hao Yang as a person that needed to be taken out. But he couldn’t just attack the guy since that would make Li Wei look bad. So, the scary thing he did was to try to be Hao Yang’s friend and use that friendship to chip away at Hao Yang while waiting for an opportunity to completely get rid of the guy. He came up with a plan to sabotage three other students and place evidence so the blame would land on Hao Yang. After being forced to drop out he crossed paths with Li Wei and realised it was Li Wei who set the whole thing up. When he said that he would expose Li Wei for what he did Li Wei just laughed in his face and mocked him. Stating the fact that without evidence how would people believe Hao Yang since everything point to him. Hao Yang looked so defeated and Li Wei continued to mock him. All Hao Yang said was “Why?” as he was holding back tears. Li Wei just leaned in and told him quietly in a condescending way “It’s your fault for getting in my way.” With that, he started walking away as Hao Yang’s closed his eyes as a tear escaped sliding down his face. To patronise him even further Li Wei said, “Don’t you have some packing to do?” and left with a smirk on his face.
— First Trainee Friend: Choi Byeong Su / Blockberry Creative Trainee / Energetic, Bubbly, Loyal / 8-10
On his first day as a trainee at Blockberry Creative, he met Choi Byeong Su. A bubbly person who’s like an energetic ball of sunshine. He was younger than Hao Yang by 2 years and found the boy was just an adorable ball of energy. Byeong Su was pretty much the first person that helped him settle in at Blockberry Creative and introduced him to the other trainees. When Hao Yang’s older habits start shown and he starts spoiling the younger trainees in his group of friends. Byeong Su would always be like “Me first!” which Hao Yang happily obliged. Byeong Su reminded Hao Yang of Li Qiang back in China. After Hao Yang the cut of the trainees that were picked to be part of a group at Sunlight Entertainment, he was sitting alone to try and process it Byeong Su found him and ask if he was ok. When Hao Yang told him what happened and wasn’t sure if he should accept the offer since he didn’t feel like he was good enough Byeong Su just slapped and pretty much scold him for being so negative. When Hao Yang just said, “What about you?” Byeong Su just told him “Hyung, don’t worry about me. I’ll keep practising and working hard to improve myself. Maybe I’ll be able to join in the future or even offered other opportunities. Just focus on what you want, Hyung.” Which is what helped Hao Yang accept the offer in the Elite program days later. Months later Hao Yang finds Byeong Su sitting on the floor in one of the practice rooms pouting and sighing. Which was an odd sight since Hao Yang has never seen the boy like this before? When Byeong Su hears Hao Yang walking up to him and sits in front of him he looks up. Before Hao Yang could ask what’s wrong he asks his hyung “Hyung, am I annoying” which surprises Hao Yang making Hao Yang think “The ” and he just says “No. Never... Why?” Byeong Su tells him about a guy that he likes but he thinks that the guy he likes finds him annoying. Hao Yang ends up trying to comfort him. When Byeong Su asks him for advice Hao Yang just says “You’re asking the wrong person for love advice because I have no idea.”

Hao Yang would give really vague answers such as “that path wasn’t right for me” or “It no longer suited what I wanna do in career-wise” but netizens could tell that he was just putting on a front. It was clear to them that he loved Chinese Classical Dance too much to just give it up like that. So as netizens do, they started digging and soon found out that he studied Chinese Classical Dancer at Beijing Dance Academy which wasn’t that surprising since a few Chinese kpop idols are alumni there. When they found out that he was kicked out for sabotaging other students to the point that they couldn’t continue studying in that field he started to lose fans. He started getting hate comments and it would get so bad for him that he would have to stop activities. Whenever he tried to defeat himself it would get worse. He thought that he could leave this part of his life behind him but it ended up coming back to haunt him. It got blown up so big that Beijing Dance Academy was then dragged into it. Graduates and even some students that still attend the Academy started to defend Hao Yang which confused the heck out of the netizens in Korea. Even one of the victims says that it just doesn't add up. The graduates and students from the Academy say that it’s not Hao Yang. Even though the Academy has closed this case everyone else who had been friends with Hao Yang at the Academy refused to stop until they find who really did it. Some netizens ended up helping to clear Hao Yang’s name. It took a few months but they finally found the real person who did it. It ended up being Hao Yang’s former friend Wang Li Wei. Netizen’s ended up boycotting him so much. When Hao Yang heard about this he ended up telling netizen’s to stop and just leave Li Wei alone.
