an international student coming from the land of smiles, thailand, lucy's family is considered in the upper class. her father is an army general and her mother is a data analyst. she is the youngest of two children. her brother and her attended ruamrudee international school since middle school. she's always wanted to study industrial engineering. after going through college counselling, she chose to study in the united states since it's been her dream to study abroad in america and thankfully, her grades from her ap classes were good enough. she chose to enroll in usc after she got rejected from nyu and ucla.

she is more productive and concentrated during the day and tends to sit back during the afternoon. though she is more prone to do her self-study during sunset. she considers herself an expert in finding coffee shops with good coffee and an equally good ambiance. she is quite a familar face to many coffee shop staff and in such welcoming environments, it has made her self-study time comfortable. she wakes up early on the regular as her schedule has made her an night owl and an early bird. weekends are spent with friends, otherwise she'd be in her room, watching shows on netflix if not seen in thai town.

cho miyeon (22), MICHELLE YEH (20) 

her two housemates since sophmore year, lucy is grateful to have miyeon and shuhua (miyeon and lucy decided to call her by her taiwanese name) as friends. though it was awkward at first, they quickly bonded. this team of three are always seen together. miyeon is lucy's reliable mom friend whose in charge of cooking and restocking the fridge with alcohol and groceries while shuhua is the younger sister she never had whose in charge of the dishes. lucy's in charge of laundry. they can laugh over the little things and confide in each other. they'd always borrow clothes from each other. their group chat is always noisy and somehow, they always make decisions among each other through a round of rock paper scissors.

AMELIE CHUANG (21): TIFFANYBLUEX'S

as shuhua's housemate, lucy has seen amelie come over to hang out so much that she's bonded with the girl. "make yourself at home for real", lucy would tell amelie and amelie always felt comfortable around lucy. they mesh well as they're both fun-loving girls and chose to go with the fow of things. yet, the two have experienced their fair share of arguments as lucy sometimes gets irritated by amelie's calm and composed attitude even when things go wrong. lucy always asks amelie, "do you not feel a teaspoon of anxiety?!" to which amelie calmly says "no". shuhua (or michelle, as amelie calls her) finds their interactions since they'd make amends easily and be back to enjoying each other's company as they chill out together. lucy cares very much about amelie and wants her to open up and talk about herself more.   

kallie liao (22) 

she's only heard of kallie through the mentions from other people and seen her interact with seth. at first, she mistook kallie to be seth's girlfriend but then again, she could tell that they were best friends from their interactions. they'll official meet each other when the group gathers for their trip. both of them will go "oh, wait, i see you a lot!" and introduce themselves to each other, finally. they'll quickly bond through sharing a lot of conversations and lucy will try to get kallie to break out of her comfort zone for once while not being too pushy. kallie admires that in lucy.

seth park (22) 

lucy has had her fair shares of bumping into seth at parties or at el's apartment since the two boys actually live in the same block. since they've seen each other a lot, they became well-acquainted. seth is a reliable friend of el's and well-acquainted with miyeon as well so he's often looking out for her at parties el doesn't go to. it's as if she gained an older brother. they enjoy laughing over el's shenanigans and on this trip, they're going to bond a lot from their mutual liking of spicy food and adventure and dislike of jelly beans.

russell "russ" lee (23) 

lucy'll meet russell when the group gathers for their trip. she can tell that rusell is the mastermind of all this, judging from the elaborate briefing of the trip and the determination in his eyes. the two will get along since they both enjoy adventures and lucy likes all the crazy ideas he has in store for the trip. throughout the trip, she refuses to have russell stand next to her in group pictures. he's such a tall guy and she looks small next to him.

vanessa "nessie" tan (21) 

the first time lucy met nessie was when she mistook her for nellie at a party. the two had the same hairstyle that day. that's when they just turned away from each other in embarrassment. later that night, nellie introduced them to each other without knowing the previous incident. they bump into each other at parties a lot and greet each other with a nod every time. on the trip, nessie will have to put up with lucy's lack of organization and her lovey dovey scenes with el. they'll slowly bond as they have deep talks and lucy giving her guy advice. nessie doesn't say it out loud, but el and lucy are couple goals.

leon choi (22) 

leon and el always pregame together at seth's apartment before kasa parties. leon and lucy met through miyeon one day and since then, they hung out often with miyeon and shuhua. lucy's initial impression of leon was untasteful but it made him easier for her and the girls to on i. leon has always been lucy's tom and jerry ever since he loosened up to her and the girls and the two bicker a lot. it was leon who told lucy to come to the trip jokingly but of course, lucy was not having the joke.

chanel "nellie" wong (20) 

being the social butterfly she is, nellie became close to shuhua and when nellie was invited to shuhua's birthday party, the exchange student easily got along with lucy and miyeon. lucy instantly exchanged numbers with nellie and she became well informed of the hottest scenes of the week through her. lucy's trio became party mates with nellie. it's sad to think she'll be parting with nellie after the summer and the two know of it. nellie knows that for the summer, miyeon plans to spend the summer in korea while shuhua plans to go home to taiwan to see her family. she didn't want lucy to spend the summer alone so she texted lucy to join the summer trip.

"nellie's close with shuhua so we met at her birthday party and since then, we became party mates. we're close now. and, leon and el are friends from kasa. they're pretty close to each other and seth is almost like a friend to me. he's pretty cool."

"pffft, first, leon, he and i are tom and jerry. we're pretty close even if we heads often. my housemates and i party together a lot with nellie so we're close buddies. i'm not really close with the other two, sorry. but russell's super tall and i once mistook nessie for nellie at a party. i was so embarassed. i know seth, since el knows him from kasa too. kallie liao? only saw her at parties but i can tell that she and seth are best friends."

"all my housemates have fixed plans for the summer and el might have plans with his boys or family so i didn't want to pester him. but then, nellie texted about this trip and was excited to have me join. leon told me to come too since i'm alone for the summer. okay, he said he was joking but i want to seize this opportunity. he and seth didn't even tell el because they know i'll be his plus one. too late. well, i'll be there from nellie's invite."

PERSONALITY 

elliot is a guy who would never betray or leave his friends for other people. he values loyalty and wouldn't hesitate to take care of those he holds close. he'd do anything for his friends and family. he's compassionate and able to tolerate those with different personalities or different views than him. those who confide in him will know that he's very warm with his words and gives sincere advice. people who know him would surprise you when they introduce him as the mood maker in the group. though he doesn't seem like it at first, he easily laughs and can put in a lot of funny remarks in between his words. the type to limit his words, he's able to do it with that straight face of his so it does crack others up. he has a knack for witty jokes and sometimes, his friends wished he could speak up more often.

OUR STORY 

 + first meeting 
their worlds were always close to each other but they met for the first time during a halloween party  held by the kasa in sophmore year. miyeon, as a member of the kasa, invited shuhua and lucy. seth was also there to join lucy's group all of a sudden as miyeon basically dragged him  in there. during a spur of the moment, the four were joined by elliot and his friends who miyeon and seth asked to combine their groups. that was the first time lucy saw elliot so they introduced each other. the night was young and they were younger. they took a lot of group shots throughout the night and shuhua took three pictures of just the two together. they got closer through that and ended up having a lot of conversations. the both of them thought it was obvious to befriend each other as they shared a mutual friend in miyeon and seth.

 + how they became official 
the next day, there was a group chat where everyone shared all the pictures of that night. they naturally added each other's contacts and lucy made the first contact when she asked elliot if he planned to upload the pictures of them. he didn't plan to and instead, he wanted to post it on her birthday. she agreed. they started to meet during group hangouts when miyeon asks him to come over and join. there was a certain day when the girls rode in elliot's car to huntington beach with kyu and they spent the day having fun. they got closer to each other after miyeon (and eventually, shuhua as well) started to set them up with each other.

it was since that day, they started to become closer through messages and impromptu meetings whenever they have no friends to hangout with. those hangouts became frequent and they shared a lot about each other. they ended up dating each other since november seventeenth when he took her on a drive and confessed while watching a movie at a drive-in movie theatre. when they broke the news to their friends, none were surprised. shuhua and miyeon highfived each other while elliot's friends were surprised that lucy would date him. 

they spent new years together when elliot's parents asked her to join their family on new years as they did to elliot's brother and his girlfriend. she was well-received by the kims and it was great to get to know his family. she also showed elliot to her family on valentine's day. her parents rejoiced as they praised elliot's manners and good looks while her brother sulked at the fact that elliot was taller than him. 

 + daily interactions 
as an international couple, they learn to respect each other while introducing their own culture. elliot is fine with driving lucy to the temple in thai town and he actually enjoys the songkran festival. lucy actually has a few korean dishes she likes and really enjoys the korean dramas or movies they watch together on dates. it's really fun when they try to teach their language to one another but as a game. though, to this day, elliot's tongue still gets twisted pronouncing lucy's last name while lucy still can't read hangul.

as a college couple, elliot likes to drive lucy to and from campus. they don't really see each other much during class hours. it's always nice for lucy to see elliot wait for her after her 6:40pm-9:20pm monday class. elliot always takes care of her and lucy uses their height difference to fully disappear in his hugs. they are from two different fields so when they actually do study dates, they try to understand each other's fields. they always look out for each other at parties. 

as a young couple, they can talk about a lot of things together and they trust each other to be honest. elliot helps keep her organized and lucy's emotional support puts him at ease. everyone knows how adorable their couple can be. it's evident from the affection oozing from their actions when they're together and the sparkle in their eyes when they talk about each other. the biggest smiles break out from each other when they see each other on campus. they don't fight often but they know how to forgive and forget. the codephrase they use when they want to reconcile is "wanna get some coffee?"

ever since they started dating, they've gone on a road trip together to san diego before the start of junior year. they also love going to venice beach and the santa monica pier. elliot enjoys taking her to different spots to get a view of the los angeles night skyline.
