From one writer to another

Hey friend, I miss being on here, but to be honest nobody gives feedback on here. I don't know if other writers experience the same thing. Let me know. Many people subscribe to my stories but I never get any feedback from them. It seems like they don't like my stories because nobody gives a vote.

I hope you guys don't feel the same about me, because to be honest I don't read much on here. I mostly read stories on Wattpad.

Any way I was thinking of adding a new story. Here is the description.

All it took was one look to decide she wanted the quiet loner sitting in the moonlight. There is something about him, etched in her soul, something she can't quite put a finger on. She must find out. Even if it kills her.

i used to write a lot, i haven't in years, i don't know if the demographic has changed that much. silent readers have always been a thing, it takes a while to build a fanbase. once you have a decent fanbase, you should be able to depend on a certain number of comments, but it also depends on what you write, some stuff doesn't require much to be said, but some stuff strikes a nerve that makes people comment.

many people are just silent readers, usually they would just leave 1 comment at most as a feedback but that's really normal and it happens alot
don't let it bother you, people subscribe to your stories for a reason

I experienced the same thing as you. I think one of the reasons is because the readers have their favourite author with their favourite ship.

One of my stories got a lot of subscribers and people commenting on each chapter but the others just meh...

It bothers me before but now I just don't care. I only write when I have free time, and as an escape from reality. I would still write even with no people giving feedback. But one thing for sure, there will still be those who silently read your story and after a long time, they suddenly give feedback and upvote. Don't worry too much, just keep writing. I myself found few stories that were buried here for years and thus giving a lot of feedbacks despite the author is not active anymore. Hehehe

I totally know what you mean - I'm experiencing a lot of this on AO3 for another fandom, but I know how it is being on AFF without feedback too
And I know what it feels like thinking about zero upvotes
I don't really know why people don't upvote either, but I can admit that from time to time I'm a silent reader but I've been "improving" and making sure to definitely leave a comment even if it's as simple as "I LOVED this chapter"
And btw, the poster is gorgeous :) the description sounds really good and I'd definitely be interested in checking it out <3
