Energetic & optimistic
Sol has the energy to keep going for days, he is know to be active and rather bouncy. He will lift up the mood when everyone is down and is able to energize everyone in those moments. He is also that kind of person that always looks on the bright side of life. Sol will only see the positive things and is sort of blind for the bad sides. Which makes him quite a dreamer as well.

Playful & mischievous
herever Sol goes, trouble seems to follow. He likes to cause some mischief here and there. He enjoys pulling pranks on the other members but often betrays himself by being overly excited about them. He is quite like a puppy and doesn't take a lot of things serious. He kinda lives by the moto "life is a game." 

Easily bored & impatient
Sol can't wait. Like really, sitting still for a moment and just wait isn't his forte. He likes to live an exciting life and gets uninterested in things pretty easily because they start to bore them. He lives a fast life and likes to see results as soon as possible, which isn't always the case and that can make him pretty frustrated.

Sol loves the camera and the camera loves Sol. That's what he likes to believe . He likes to stand in the spotlight and get all the attention. He really likes it when people look at him and admire him for his skills. Though Sol can be quite a baby. He needs everything to go his way and gets sulky whenever he doesn't get what he wants. His mental age would be that of a spoiled 9 year old. They know what they're doing but will still throw tantrums when things don't go their ways. 

Honest & loud
Sol can't lie even if his life depended on it. He will always say what he thinks and is brutally honest. He doesn't have a filter, but will apologize afterwards if he hurt the person. But just because he doesn't lie doesn't mean he won't keep things from the others. It's easier not to talk about certain things than to lie about them. Also, Sol is unable to be quiet. Even if he is meters away, you can still hear him. He produces a lot of noises and makes sure everyone has heard them. He even whispers loudly.He is very talkative which can be fun, but it's certainly draining the energy out of you sometimes. 

Passionate
It doesn't happen very often but once something really catches Sol's attention he gets really passionate about it. Even though he gets easily bored of most things, if he gets passionate about them, he can't stop talking about it, he can't stop doing it. If he loves something he might just love it shortly but it will be deep and intense. 

Kind
Sol in general is a pretty sweet guy. He will help the ones that need it. He is respectful towards others and tries to listen even if he doesn't always agree with them. He is a loving person that most people love as well. and he would like to keep it that way. 

Stubborn to a fault
Sol has many thoughts and strong believes and doesn't really like to change his mind about things. He will not tolerate anyone trying to change his mind and it's hard to make compromises with him. He doesn't budge at all. 

Observant
Sol is quite emotionally inteligent, he notices things pretty quickly. It's like he has a sensor for other people's feeling and knows pretty quick if some things are going on. He sees changes in persons and things in a blink of an eye. He also notices changes in his environment quickly and often doesn't really react well to that .

Background

Ma Hyerin and her high school sweetheart, Yoon Kwon, were only respectively 18 and 22 years old when they started up a family with the birth of Yoon Geon. But this story isn't about them. This story is about the baby boy that got born about 3 years later: Yoon Sol. Sol was a healthy and pretty average baby. Welcomed and loved by his whole family, unlike Geon who wasn't really recieved very well by Hyerin's parents. They thought she was throwing her life away like that at such a young age already but this was what Hyerin wanted and it eventually got accepted. It was Kwon anyway that  took well care of the kids in the earlier years of their lives as their mother was often quite busy with giving dance classes in several of Seoul's dance studios along with preparing for some contests as well. At a young age Hyerin grew into one of the better dancers and choreographers of the country. And by the age of 27 she would even get hired to create choreographies for some kpop groups. And that all while her sons were growing up into two fine men under the care of her husband. 

So more about Sol now. Sol had quite an easy life. He was a sweet child, sort of mischievous though but he could get away with it. He was very much liked by his parents, grandparents and school environment. Sol was quite a model kid. Never did he fight, he played well with others and was respectful. Like what more do you want? In elementary school it also became clear that he was even quite intelligent, even though the problem of him getting bored easily started to act up. He only paid attention to the classes that interested him aka languages, the other things didn't really interest him. There was no difference between class and playroom to him and he definitely fooled around a lot in class. He might not be the best student, but most people didn't care. He was an enjoyable person to have around, he should just learn how not to distract the other kids.

Sol's life was quite normal for most part of his life. Til the age 13, he lived a life like everyone else. He had developed a passion for dancing, like his mother who got more and more fame as freelance choreographer for kpop groups. He would spend all his free time with his mom in the dance studio trying to keep up with her, which was basically impossible, but he tried. But then his life took a turn for the worse. Sol got sick, very sick. His body had quite a bad reaction to a viral infection and damaged some nerves in his ear. Everything Sol heard afterwards sounded muted. He couldn't listen to music the way he did before, he had trouble hearing the beats, whispers sounded even further away than they already did. His life seemed to be over. Especially since he had his mind set on becoming an idol one day. An idol with an hearing aid would be quite weird right? So he sort of gave up on that dream, but he kept dancing, along with his mother. 

School was not really something for Sol after his hearing loss. He refused to wear the aid as he thought it looked stupid and rather just worked hard on  things. He started to push people away more and became more of a loner. He felt miserable during this period. No one understood what he was going through, even though it was mainly just because he didn't allow people to get closer to understand what he was going on with him. Though in february 2018 a spark of hope appeared again in the form of an SM Entertainment scouter, offering him to become a trainee under their company. Maybe he shouldn't have given up on his dream that easily. Sol saw the offer as a sign of the gods to give it a try. He could become an idol if he worked hard enough for it, he was sure of it. 

After lots of discussing with his parents and even begging them to sign the contract, the boy accepted the offer. This would be a fresh start for him. This would be the beginning of a whole new Sol. A better Sol. The future was once again bright. 

training

SM Entertainment: february 2018 - present

Sol was scouted on the streets by SM's scouters because of his looks. Or that's what they said, which wasn't exactly true. In fact, the scouters knew exactly who Sol was, or better who his family was. His mother was a wel known and respected choreographer and dance teacher for lots of popular groups while his brother was an aspiring producer and songwriter. Where they really interested in Sol or did they just wanted to get themselves an exclusive contract with his family? Did they think because he was carrying his mother's genes that he would be a great performer? Who knows.

Practice for Sol was difficult. Even though he's more than just a decent dancer, his hearing causes him quite some troubles. Having problems with hearing the bass due his partial hearing loss, he often misses beats especially if he doesn't know the songs well. SM often thought it was a mistake to scout Sol. Though fearing they might lose his family as well if they let their youngest child go, t hey kept him in the trainee program but where very unsure of making him debut with Paradox. Though the problem could easily be solved if Sol would just wear an hearing aid. He wasn't completely deaf after all and it would make learning the dances lots easier. Once he knows the song by heart there wouldn't be a problem anymore. He wears one when he's practicing alone or with only the coaches as they also know about his impairment (because his mom told them, but Sol begged to keep it from his groupmates). He accepted that because of this he might have more difficulties learning the songs but he is determined that he would succeed like this. No one would like to see an idol with an hearing aid right? He told madame Kang about the situation and promised her he would tell the others and use the aid to learn the dances if it was necessary, but stubborn like he is, up til this day he hasn't used it for dance practice and it stays deeply hidden in his locker. Even better his fellow members don't even know about it.

After the n-th NCT, Red Velvet, GJSN,... track produced by his brother and the more choreographies by his mother get released under SM Entertainment, people start to wonder what's the deal with the family and the company. Since Sol isn't outstandingly good at anything they're slowly starting to see that maybe he might be the glue that keeps Ma Hyerin and her son stuck to the company. Is SM really becoming a family business like that?

It's often talked about in the fandom that he looks at people's lips so they try to figure out what's the deal about it. In interviews he would say he just likes people with beautiful lips.

Ma Hyerin is a rather young mom and with rather young I mean she was barely even legal when she got her first child, Geon. Though she never regretted that. Hyerin is more of a dance coach to Sol than a mom. When she wasn't making choreographies for dance groups, kpop groups or giving workshops, she would learn Sol how to dance. When Sol got old enough he would join his mother's dance workshops and even travelled along with her when she did some international workshops during the summer break. Up til this day, it was one of the best times of Sol's life.

Geon and Sol are a great pair. Geon, our lovely older brother, is quite a good match for Sol. He is calmth itself and is one of the only persons that will keep Sol a bit down as well. He cares a lot for his younger sibling and Sol really looks up to him. Geon might be rather young but his skills are uncomparable. He is seen as a diamond in the rough and after some polishing he might become one Korea's best producers. As producer name he uses GoneWithTheWind.

It was on one of his mother's workshops that Minhyun and Sol met. The two of them immediately clicked because of their very similar personalities and soon became pretty good friends. Things only got better when the two of them entered SOPA without telling eachother beforehand and ended up in the same class. The two of them developed quite a deep friendship and try to stay in touch as much as possible even though it might be hard because of their trainee lives. They hope to meet eachother soon on stage again.

Out of the managers, Mingyu definitely would be Sol's favorite. He will cling onto him and even try to smooch him. If he was older people might think the younger would have feelings for the manager. But no, Sol is just way too comfortable around this handsome boy and enjoys clinging onto him. This is of course a big advantage for the hyungs who now are unsupervised to cause mischief. It's all Sol's masterplan. Sol also really wants to meet his girlfriend because he thinks that he should approve of her and give them his blessing to get married.

Byungwoo is one of Sol's favorite cuddle victims. The two of them get along pretty well probably because they kinda went through the same things as trainee. Both of them are considered weak links in their groups. Byungwoo isn't the strongest dancer around either and Sol tries his best to help once he figures out the dances and such as well. Both can be quite stubborn though which might cause they to bud heads from time to time. But that's the way things go in families, right? Sol considers Byungwoo one of the members he's closest to in Paradox except for the ones in the dance team.

Sol is dance team's baby and he knows it. He fools around a lot with them and might get on their nerves from time to time. Though Sol knows well when to stop and be serious about things. He tries his best to help with creating the choreos but it's definitely not his strongest point. He is the one that gets the older members drinks and food so they can continue making choreographies as he usually isn't of much help with creating them. Sol's strongest point in making choreos would probably be fixing posistions, he has quite a good feeling about what would be visually appealing. That way he isn't entirely useless in this group. 

Because dance team spends most of their time together they are also the most prone to getting pranked by Sol. Salt in the water, vinegar injected in bananas, they should be prepared for it all.

Sol is head over heels in love with EXO and their discography, no joke. The things he would do to go to their concerts in the past are unreal and he doesn't like to admit it, but EXO would be the main reason for him to stay in SM. He treats them with a lot of respect and is quite ready to fight if someone even thinks about saying a bad word about them. Has he really spoken to them yet though? No not really. Will he do it in the future? Very likely... if he doesn't get starstruck.

They have separate training areas, but are they really safe from Sol? Sol doesn't think so. Will he sneak over to their side to put glue on the handles of their lockers? Yes. Will he deny it was him? Of course. Will they buy it? Definitely not. Are they still going to forgive him? Look into those doe eyes and try to stay mad at that baby. No one is able to stay mad at Sol for longer than a minute. If there is one group Sol likes to tease and prank more than his own, it's NCT. Their reactions are hilarious and they're often more accepting for his jokes than Paradox.

► NOT THE CHEEKS / Sunbae:  GJSN (age varies) | idols | personality varies | 8/10

As the counterpart to Paradox, GJSN gets in general pretty good along with them. Sol loves these noonas and wouldn't dare to pull any pranks on them unlike some other groups. He is kinda their little baby and can't do a lot wrong in their eyes. The love is mutual though. I definitely enjoys their presence and is one of their number one fans after their debut.

There aren't many things Sol is afraid of but the one thing he is absolutely terrified of is Madame Kang. She has the ability to crush his dream with just one single signature. Sol tries his best to appeal to her and would do anything so she allows him to stay and debut. You'll always know whenever she's close by as Sol will get very uneasy and quiet unlike his naturally loud self.

► For a short moment, Sol's tongue sliped out of his mouth and wetted his lips as he thought. "I think I'm sort of the variety king of Paradox." He nodded, satisfied with his answer. "I have quite a big personality and I think that might attract fans. I'm also a decent dancer, my vocal skills need some more training but I try my best to improve every day." He flashed a bright smile as he answered the question. "I'm also definitely adding volume to the group. The hyungs say I can be quite loud sometimes." 

what are you confident in? what do you lack?

► "Confident in my looks, I don't think I look bad, of course they're more goodlooking people around here, but I think I look pretty good as well." He grinned sheepishly as he answered the question. He kept looking straight at the interviewer as he opened his mouth again. "Even though I'm a dancer, I lack the ability to freestyle well. I can do it, it's just that I still lack a bit in that department. And like I said before I can still use some vocal or rap training." He said. He wetted his lips once more. "I really want to give rapping a try in the future, though I think I should focus on singing first." 

which seniors do you look up to? why?

► He brought his hand to his face to cover his lips but the twinkle in his eyes betrayed him. "I really look up to EXO-sunbae-nim. I've been such a big fan of them since their debut and I really hope we'll make it as big as them. They're all so great and skilled." He blabbered in adoration for his idols. "Especially Kai-hyung. If I had to pick one of them as rolemodel, it would be Kai-hyung. His figures when he's dancing are to die for, he looks good and knows how to sing and rap. He's such a well rounded performer and I can't help but to be in awe everytime I see him perform." Sol really had to be stopped before his whole love letter to his biggest idol would get out of hand. It was still an interview about him and not about EXO or Kai. 

where do you see yourself in ten years?

► "In ten years?" He repeated and looked up in thoughts. "I hope still be standing on stage with Paradox. I really do, but if anything happens and I have to let go of that dream I would like to become a reporter or teacher. Those were my dreams before the one of becoming an idol. I would rather stay an idol, but if there were something to happen and I can't stand on stage anymore, I would like to be reporter or teacher." He answered. 

how did you manage to convince madame kang to let you stay? how do you feel?

► This was a question that made Sol's heart race. It was one of those rare moments that he stayed quiet for more than 5 seconds... more than 10 seconds even. This rarely happened. "Does this stay between us?" He asked softly and tilted his head. "Pity?" That was the only word he could think of right now. There might have been other motives he didn't know about but for him this seemed like a plausible. His tongue slipped out again and he took a deep breath as something else popped up in his mind. Something more positive "Maybe it's because I have a big personality as well? I work hard every days to improve, to get rid of my lackings as performer. I think she knows that and decided to give me a chance like that."
