Personality. 

You'll first see Ahreum as a classy lady — a mysterious woman with elegance that exudes as she breathes. Beware; that, it's one of the biggest faux ever. Ahreum may strike as arrogant at first but that's because she's shy. She's not good with striking a conversation, as in most cases, she would blurt out something stupid and ends up embarassing herself. In return, she gets called cold.  

In reality, once you get to know her, she's actually very bright and sunny. Ahreum is a friendly woman who likes to make new friends and connect with other people. While she's not good at starters, Ahreum can do a decent job at carrying a conversation. Ahreum is generally an optimist. She has a positive outlook in life and she believes that she could do anything — well, she's not wrong. Coming from a wealthy family, it's believed that she actually can do anything. Perhaps, the optimisim is what kept her cheerful all the time. Ahreum isn't a happy virus per se; she didn't think that she's cut out for the cute character all the time — but Ahreum is actually happy-go-lucky. It's hard to see her spirit down — unless if you're a meanie.

She's also very kind. She is charitable and she loves making other people smile. While being empathetic like her is very endearing since we all need more humanity these days, it also makes her easy as a target for scams and lies. She tends to feel sorry for people; and as someone who's privileged, she believes that it's her duty to help others; to the point where people used her to their own benefit. That's how naive she is. Despite how observant she is, she would always think positive of someone to the point where she denies that humans do sometimes have ill intentions. In a way, Ahreum is also naive when it comes to relationships. She's not good at receiving 'signals' and she prefers if people are more direct. She's a no-fuss woman and being all Sherlock Holmes with her isn't going to make her happy. 

Ahreum may not seem serious — after all, this "funny" girl laughs at everything. She starts her day by laughing at her member's morning face until the end of the day when all of her members are sleeping as she scrolls through Instagram for memes. She's famous with her little antics of making sound effects when she twirls or when she wins something. or This playful girl is the one who likes to pull prank on other members but when it comes to work, she's professional. Ahreum is very hard-working. Despite being laid-back and relaxed most of the time, when it comes to work, she's all serious. Ahreum is the kind of girl to push her members to do better in training. No dinner until you master this move, girls! With that being said, Ahreum is very spontaneous. Sure, she has big visions and would love for her dreams to come true — but she believes every cloud has its silver lining. If one way doesn't work out for you, there's always another way to do it. She wouldn't really stress about things and she's good at making back-up plans on the spot. Of course, she can sometimes be too relaxed though. Procrastination? Sure, whatever. She knows she can think on the spot; so, most of the time, she doesn't think much about the repercussions of her decisions. She's impulsive and tends to leave it as "let's see where life takes us", which is good when she's good at being flexible and adapting to what she's going through; but not so good when the losses can be avoided if only she gives it a second thought. With her loved ones, Ahreum can be very clingy. She loves attention from those she treasures and would not be afraid to show them her love.

Despite all the ditzy demeanor and supersonic laughs, Ahreum is very observant. She knows what her close ones like and dislike, how they act around people they like, who's dating who and the list goes on. Ahreum also values loyalty a lot. She expects you to be loyal to her, as she is loyal to you. She's also very open-minded. She doesn't judge others on who they date or what they're wearing — discrimination is a big no in her book, unless that person hurted her or her loved ones. Perhaps, it's what makes her outspoken on certain issues. She's a huge believer of equal rights and women's safety — where she's not afraid to call out ert 'fans' or the unfair treatment in the industry. She also supports gay rights <3 She would say that she's a liberal which doesn't settle quite well with some people of the public, especially misogynists who only sees her as a pretty girl for them to ualize. however, she has also receives a lot of love for her braveness in speaking out.

Ahreum is a huge soft baby but she's actually quite seductive. She knows how to play with her words; as a huge flirt, she is. She likes to flirt with fans during fan meeting and with people she's close enough to flirt with. Oh, and she's an expert of throwing it down for her fans. 

With that being said, Ahreum is very vindictive. She's the kind of person who forgives but does not forget. She won't be shy to bring up things that you did a year back in arguments — and she won't try to be nice to you if she doesn't like you. It just doesn't work that way for her. Ahreum's biggest flaw is how indecisive she is. She's not good at making choices and ends up asking for people's opinions on her own decisions; which because in the end, only she knows what's best for her. Perhaps, the reason why she is the way she is now is because of how spoiled she is. Ahreum was spoon fed with everything; people compliments her, she has her mom cooking for her, her monthly allowance is that of an entry-level degree holder's three months salary when she was just sixteen; thanks to her parents. In a way, Ahreum never experiences hardships. She has this mindset where everyone's kind enough to help her. In a way, this has made her seem out of touch with middle-class and lower-class people; or the majority of the population in general. 

Ahreum can also be seen as a pushover. Sure, Ahreum has a stand of her own — but more often than not, Ahreum would seek validation from other people, in case she's doing something wrong. Most of the time, people would agree on her opinion given her charm; but when it comes to people who she believes are more intelligent than her, she'll feel inferior and would believe that they're probably right. She's a little bit insecure in that sense. This brings us to how timid she can be. Ahreum hates confrontation. She's not good with fighting people — she prefers to let them have it their way; but on days where she fights back, it usually ends up with her in tears like the sensitive girl she is. 

They said that being an idol means consenting to be exposed to countless amount of hate and while some people deals with it in a great manner, Ahreum isn't one of those people. She's very insecure; and being seen as a 'picture perfect doll' doesn't make it better either. She's the kind of girl to go on strict diet when she sees one comment on how she gained weight and would cry when she sees someone attacking her personality. 

Background.

It's all in the name, everyone! Geum Ahreum is basically living the dream life. She was born in an extremely rich family — those kind of family who has been filthy rich where they pass their wealth to their next generation, for their next generation to accumulate more wealth for their future generation. Her family owns a medical equipment manufacturing company which is their main income; her mother is the owner of the company, with invesments on hospitals. Those are their main revenue — but to add on that, her father is a lecturer, focused on IT. They live in a rich neighbourhood — and everything goes well for her. As a child, she was sent to an international school, she went to piano classes and Japanese classes, on top of that. 

In 2008, Ahreum was scouted by Y.I Entertainment through the social media, Cyworld; where she auditioned for fun, and was accepted. While her parents are hesitant, they let her become a trainee with the exception that her grades cannot drop; especially with her being the school's top 15 of that time. Not long after, she debuted in Sowon; and she kept her promise with her parents when she graduated with flying colours.

 SISTER & BUSINESS PARTNER  Geum Ahyoung / 32 / Lecturer [FC: Fiestar's Linzy]

Ahyoung is the total opposite of Ahreum; a woman with clear vision and doesn't give a flying f—towards people who try to say "no" to her. She seems scary; and is scary, considering how stern she is. She's professional and the defintion of a lady boss; but Ahyoung also had a soft spot for Ahreum. Ahyoung is family-oriented; probably, the glue of the family as she keeps her siblings  and her parents in check. With Ahreum, Ahyoung likes to listen — and seemingly, try to think in Ahreum's shoes. She would call Ahreum out for her "unrealistic" vision, only if it will damage herself.

Ahyoung is Ahreum's business partner; the only one she trusts. Ahreum knows that she cannot handle her business alone. While she's good at marketing and building relationships with clients, Ahreum knows how bad it would be to entrusts her in making financial decisions. Here comes Ahyoung to the rescue; a lecturer in economics. Ahyoung knows what's best and would advise Ahreum on it. She would check the audit report in case of any insincere staffs and would report on Ahreum. Pretty much, Ahreum trusts Ahyoung with her life. 

 BESTFRIENDS  Moon Jiyoung / 28 / Makeup artist [FC: Kwon Nara]

Jiyoung and Ahreum shares similar personality — cold-looking elegant girls who are actually air-headed. Jiyoung comes across as snobbish and arrogant — well, partially true; but Jiyoung is also a kind-hearted, free spirit. Jiyoung and Ahreum comes from the same background and well, birds of a feather flock together in general. Once you get to know her, Jiyoung is just a shy girl with weird humour that she only shares with Ahreum. Both girls are dreamers. What sets them apart is Jiyoung is more caring; always taking the role of a big sister in the relationship when she, herself, has troubles making eye contact while ordering pizza.

Jiyoung met Ahreum in 2013 when she was a makeup artist for Sowon. Both hated small talks but acknowledge each other by exchanging smiles and Jiyoung asking for Ahreum's preference in makeup. Over all, a professional encounter. However, they only got closer in 2015 when Ahreum hired Jiyoung to be her personal makeup artist for her events. It was then, that they started getting closer. Jiyoung striked a few conversation with Ahreum; and Ahreum carried the conversation nicely. Turns out, they share a lot of similarities. When Ahreum decided to launch her beauty company, she took Jiyoung's opinions into consideration a lot too. 

 SISTERS  Sowon

Perhaps — her bestfriends, her soulmates. She has always had a small circle of friends; therefore, to have a group of girls by her side to cheer her up and to always be there for her is something that she cherish. Ahreum would do anything for Sowon; and to be perfectly frank, the reason why she still is an idol is because she couldn't leave Sowon to handle the backlash if she quits.

To say that she doesn't have any ill feelings towards the older member would be a lie. While Ahreum and Yujin was not exactly close enough to know each other's flaw, Ahreum felt that the reason of "unsuitable concept" is not acceptable. They're in this together — and as the leader, if she doesn't like the concept, then, go ahead and tell the company. She has the most say in the group anyways. Plus, Ahreum actually likes their concept — but no, all she thinks about is herself. In a way, Ahreum believes that Yujin is not a good leader, overall. Ahreum did not stay in contact with Yujin nor does she has any plans to in the future. 

 EX-MEMBER  Lee Yuri / 26

Look — to be fair, this is where Ahreum's indecisiveness kicks in. She doesn't hate the girl, but she doesn't like her either. Ahreum tries to be understanding; but she cannot understand why would Yuri fight with another member to begin with. She dislikes confrontation — and doesn't understand why people would put their career on the line for a petty fight. However, she does understand the built up tension from being overlooked; especially since she carried the group musically. When her contract was terminated, Ahreum felt sorry for her. Yuri is still young but Y.I. put a stop on her career — just because she is a 'disposable' member, now that Iseul prove herself that she can carry the group as a sole main vocalist. Ahreum still talk to Yuri time to time; and they still follow each other on social media. However, they're not exactly close. Acquaintances, if you may say.

Ahreum, just like everyone, loves pretty things. So, when she first saw Hana, it's not a surprise that she's starstrucked by how beautiful a woman can get. Hana exudes charisma; and her iness is no joke. She's dubbed as the nation's girlfriend for a reason — just look at this girl! While she obviously love all of her members, there's still an air of awkwardness when it comes to just the two of them. Hana is mysterious; she's always thinking and she's super smart — while Ahreum is a clown who laughs at her members, crying as they receive awards. They're too different; and while Ahreum would obviously go the extra mile for Hana, the first thing that pops up to her mind when describing Hana would be "she's pretty".

Iseul and Ahreum has a very interesting relationship dynamic. Iseul is very sociable and approachable; it was all thanks to Iseul that she warmed up to the other girls of Sowon quite well in the beginning. Perhaps, it's the same age that made her feel really comfortable around Iseul. Iseul often acts like a big sister — taking care of naive Ahreum during their promotional activities. They like to joke around each other and can be found laughing their heads off. Put them in a room together; and you'll never hear any silence. Fans like to point out their height difference and claim it cute. <3

With a gummy smile and a hearty laugh, Bogum is known for his cheerful attitude and his politeness with his co-workers. He's very innocent, pure and cute; a little bit naive but that just adds to his adorableness. He is pretty much the male version of Ahreum. Having male friends is not something common for Ahreum— so, when she takes a liking towards Bogum, that says a lot about his character and how he respects Ahreum.

Bogum and Ahreum met when Ahreum became an MC for Music Bank. Together, Bogum and Ahreum became one of the most famous pair in Music Bank's history for their chemistry together. Ahreum is really comfortable with Bogum; he would always treat her right and respect her. There is never a dull moment of them together. Bogum, who is innocent, with Ahreum, who likes to pull prank. Ahreum's not gonna lie — she did harbour feelings for him for a short while; but she felt like she's out of his league. Therefore, she never confessed. They are still very much close until this day; but her romantic feelings for him are gone by now.

Trainee and Idol Life.

To be quite frank, Ahreum never had problems during her trainee years. As a matter of fact, she's quite famous with the male and female trainees for her positive attitude. The trainers like her as well — she''s a yes man; and it takes a little effort to teach her, usually it paid off when she improves. Perhaps, the reason why the trainers recommended her to debut despite only training for one year. 

Ahreum' was over the moon when she finds out she was debuting — she has a lot to show; and the role of lead vocalist only with a year of practice shows how much raw talent she had. The general reception for Ahreum wasn't as expected though; she was expected to gain huge traction for her beauty, but in a girl group as big as Sowon, it's hard to make her noticeable. Y.I started giving her a role for her to play — the mysterious beauty with a bright personality. Less variety shows appearances, but when she shows up, she will only laugh and say a few words. Y.I. also made Ahreum dye her hair a lot to differentiate her with the other girls — pastel pink, purple, red, blonde. Ahreum's scalp did not get any rest when she's constantly dyeing her hair every four months. She experienced so much bleaching that her scalp hurts. They never cared — all they know is that Ahreum is their cash cow; sending her to do appearances but to not let her speak.

Ahreum later grew bored of being seen as a porcelain doll; and decided it's time for a new career change — and what better time it is than her contract being over with Y.I. Ahreum thought of going to university back as a full-time student; until the girls came up with plans of WISH. Ahreum was conflicted — but she knows, if anything, WISH grants her 100% autonomy of herself. So, WISH it is. 

Being in WISH allows her to be free as much as she possibly can — aside from group activities, she's not forced to do modelling jobs that she doesn't like, she can attend variety shows — she can also start her own business and go to university, and that's exactly wht she did. Ahreum started her own company "serene"; a beauty company. They started with their blush collection; slowly widening their range to lip products, eye products, face products, skincare to perfume. They launch a new collection every season; making waves in the beauty community with her pigmented products. Ahreum grew her company; to becoming one of Korea's most sought after makeup brand. She admits that it's all thanks to her name in Sowon. Her plans are to open a shopping mall. 

It's probably all thanks to a viral fancam she has of "Hurt Locker". It opens a lot of door for her; variety show appearances, modelling gigs that she actually likes, more fans — but it also comes at a cost of her being ualized, mostly by ert male netizens; which scares her because she never thought anyone would see her in that light.

2013 / False / Following the case of Yuri, Sowon is now under heavy scrutiny where reporters and anti-fans a like are trying to prove that there is indeed bullying in the company itself. When a photo surfaces of Ahreum pushing a younger member's shoulder, the public went wild — speculations arise that the older members are bullying the younger members. The truth is; she was playfully pushing her shoulder when the other member made a stupid joke — but since both of them are wearing masks, no one saw their facial expressions and took it out of context. Y.I. Entertainment and the members denied the speculations and while as time passes, the speculation generally dies down — it's not until Sowon started WISH Entertainment that the public fully trusts Ahreum. 

2015 / False / Sowon's Annaliese and EXO's Suho rumoured to be dating — there was an uproar between fans; those who fully supported it and those who didn't. However, it doesn't matter; because there's nothing going on with them. The rumour sparked as she had a "couple" photoshoot with Suho; and there are a few coincidences that lead to fans believing that they're dating. Both companies denied the rumours — but not after the typical "we're looking into this matter right now"; as both parties are trying to garner more publicity from the news.

2016 / False / New lovebirds, Park Bogum and Annaliese — unlike the previous scandal, the general public actually didn't mind the couple. Perhaps, they too, grew fond of the couple gracing their Fridays to the point where they actually are leaving nice comments. Both companies denied the speculations but thanked the general public for leaving nice comments anyways.

2018 / False / Annaliese to leave Sowon? — rumor sparked like wildfire when Annaliese deactivated her Instagram. Following Serene's success, it's a possibility that Ahreum would leave Sowon to focus on her business; after all, she is planning to go international. That would take a lot of commitments for a CEO like her. However, the allegations were proven wrong by Ahreum and members of Sowon. Truth is Ahreum was just going on a social media detox.
